That he did! And yet, he's not the Japanese Dodger I'm most worried about today.
-
@Rime, it appears Yamamoto took care of your waiver claim quandary.
-
Happy New Year!!
-
Woo, first place! Wait… that means I’m last in waiver / auction tiebreaker
-
Happiness is your late signing star pitcher landing in another pitcher-friendly home park. Thank you, Scott Boras!

Mookie for President | Betts | Glasnow Election!
-
We missed you and your four spots to fill! Also sorry Jack K, didn't see the message, but it seems like you got in ok.
-
Bummer to miss the draft. I would’ve liked to see the bidding on Mookie up to $73. While the name is undetermined, getting his guys isn’t.

I'm locked out of the draft

I believe we have up to 170 open roster spots, should people choose to use them. You can also fill up later via the usual 48-hour auctions.
-
Draft dayyyy

Well, Cutch, if you're gonna create your own players, see what you can do to roll a Character score of some value...

@Saint I just make up my own players! … maybe Cole injury sucks - Yankees have had some bad luck over the last few years w/ pitchers!
-
But, maybe you have his younger brother, Noveli?

Cutch, who would you rather have (or who will miss fewer games this season): Noelvi Marie or Gerritt Cole?

Cruel Tribute added to list of possible team names
-
Hang on a sec. Is Chris back?!? Or is this some sort of cruel tribute?

The 13th Marquess of Groppoli may never have competed in fantasy baseball. But if the NFBC’s recent kerfuffle, and now your disturbing revelation don’t make you wonder if this is why. #shook

A quick tale of a more devious commissioner than our own fine Rime: first fantasy league I played in back in '05 was a Yahoo head-to-head 5x5; mid-season I made a trade with that commissioner that ended up being vetoed. Thought it odd 'cause I hadn't seen that happen, but whatever. About a week later, I'm talking to my brother, also in the league, and he let slip that the commish called around and asked league members to veto his own trade...

Corbin to the O's! The big deal happens one day after our deadline.
-
3/17 is perfect! Thanks.
-
10/12. Who are we missing? Carlos and Cutch?
-
Approved
-
3/17 works for me
-
Oh oops, and Shane. That's 8/12.
-
3/17 has been approved by: Roar, Roberto, Saint, Smoak, Doc, Horns, and myself. Y'all other 5, any thoughts?
-
confirming 3/17 works for me

It's a measure of my trust in the ethos of Imaginary Hammers that Commish's devious possibility never occurred to me.

I mean we all struggle with our internal Tonya Harding feelings towards the champ. But, my god man, we’ve got standards in this league. Amirite, guys? Guys…

Ya know, the real 4-D chess move would be for everyone to veto the trade between the Saint and myself, thus locking his team out of the draft as being over the cap. If people were devious.
-
Sounds good
-
3/17 6pm ET works for me!

I consent to 3/17 at 6pmET/3pmPT. By the by, after the coldest Hot Stove season ever that was a heckuva deadline day.

I'm an alpha-go for 3/17; confirmative.

3/17 at 6pm ET I can do. Although I won’t have much to do. Anyone ever drafted on an iPad?

Proposed draft time: Sun. March 17 (yes St. Patrick) at 6pm ET / 3 pm PT. Anyone who then needs to will be able to start 48-hour auctions on 3/18 and have the players they win before the Dodgers-Padres opening series. Does anyone have a problem with that time, or shall we proceed with consent?

Mini-rabbit hole there looking at Kershaw's transaction log: I saw that I added him for $50 in August of 2012, thought "how did I manage that salary at that point of the season??" It appears I cut two other high-priced pitchers: $52 Tim Lincecum and $29 Tommy Hanson, RIP.
-
Ah...was not Roar who pulled the last minute Kershaw trick in 2018, but instead the previous owner of Inkosi-kaas.

And my trick is the fulfillment of the pending trade with Rime which will then take me under the cap proper.

Roar, didn't you cut Clayton Kershaw at the last minute a few years back when he cost like $67 and then redraft him for a fair bit cheaper during the subsequent draft?

Saint, I don't get the Kershaw reference. Was he also cut last minute back in the day? And what is the trick you have up your sleeve after the stroke of midnight?
