Congrats to Domingo German! The A"s are a terrible baseball team but you can only play the team in front of you.
-
Yeah good on you, that would have been a disastrous start. And also you didn't start Manoah! 11 runs on 10 hits in less than 3 innings in a complex league game.

Why not celebrate when a decision works out! Plenty of regrets to try and forget about.
-
After many boneheaded decisions in handling his pitching staff, the Winnetka Cubs finally made a good one by not starting Ryan today. It wasn't because he was facing the Braves, it was because he pitched a complete game the start before. Not bragging, because I know I'm not very good at this sort of thing, but I'm particularly pleased with this decision.
-
You definitely put yourself in a better position to win it this year. Perhaps even the favorite.
-
When I sober up, I’ll answer. Just kidding. I think my deals today put me in a better position to win this year but only time will tell. Stay tuned
-
For a rookie, I think Bazmanian did really well for himself in dumping some very overpriced players. Taj Bradley???!!!!! SG what the heck are you thinking????
-
Maybe Domingo German should have used a little more sticky stuff in today's outing. Yikes!
-
You're just mad that they have a better record than the Cubs, who (would you look at that, maybe I was right about them??) are still below .500
-
On paper the Red Sox are a legit last place team. Cora must have found a new way to cheat.
-
Don't disgrace the greatest last place team of all time like that.
-
I can't believe the Twins are getting beat by that pile of shit Red Sox team.
-
I debated on whether to start Sheehan or not, figured can’t be any worse than my other starting pitchers.
-
Yeah you would have had a killer pitching day if not for that. Still a good day overall. But that was the difference between a 6.6 P/IP 25 inning day and a 5.2 P/IP 25 inning day.

Well least Devin Williams blow up was against the Twins.
-
If you want to make some easy money today, parlay the Giants and the over, I’m starting Wesneski.
-
That's good news, at least they are doing something about it. I actually watched him pitch closely before his last start. He looked horrible, completely lost his command. I'm glad the Jays took that decision (not to start) out of my hands.
-
hahaha I mean I wasn't going to say anything, but yeah 0 points is better than negative points almost weekly. I guess he just got sent to the complex league by the Jays?
-
Cut be worse. You could be starting Alek Manoah every five days.
-
Yeah a definite bummer. It was basically the equivalent of half a season of a good RP (30 IP at 7.5 P/IP) for over $40 in cap space.
-
I cut him elsewhere. I knew I wasn’t getting 200 but 30ip is even worse than usual. Ughh
-
Looks like deGrom is out with a second TJ, if anyone happens to want him feel free to make an offer as I will probably just cut him for the cap space.
-
Suzuki goes 3-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, Morel goes 3-6 with a home run and a walk as the Cubs lose 5-6 to the Astros. Literally sounds just like most Angels headlines with Trout and Ohtani lol.

it's long past due the Twins DFA Pagan.
-
4 strike outs last night too!
-
Yeah I saw that listing and that number is a joke. I've met him a couple times at AAA, shook his hand, etc and he is definitely more than 145 lbs. He's definitely not huge but he's for sure bigger than 145 lbs.

Christopher Morel hit his 4th home run last night. Couple that with his 11 in AAA gives him 15 which would lead the majors. What is crazy to me, is that he is listed at 145 lbs and generates that much power.
-
I found it rather amusing how paranoid the Blue Jays broadcasters were that Judge would look out of the corner of his eyes at his dugout right before launching nukes. Interesting to see what comes of it, but I mean if you hang 84 mph over the heart of the plate against Judge it's probably going a long way regardless of what he's looking at.

Yikes! Always bittersweet when your hitter homers against one of your pitchers. Ryan and Kirilloff were big for you today.
-
It might be time to reevaluate Wesneski's status again. At least I started Kirilloff.
-
Yeah Mondays and Thursdays seem to be like that for me. Where more teams are off than not it seems, but the players you do have rostered playing that day are all sitting on the bench. I think its a good opportunity to work someone else in the lineup but of course they are benched.
-
It must be National Take the Day off if you are a Middle Infielder today.
-
In another league of mine his auction just finished with nine people bidding and the winner getting him for $9 so his stock is rapidly rising for sure. Definitely going to regress but seems like a real good option at RP. Maybe he's this years Helsley/Holmes/Bautista/Duran type RP?
-
That was pretty good.
-
I liked the Fangraphs article breaking down Cano's work so far: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/yennier-cano-is-cano-joke/
-
Check out Yanier Cano's stat's this year vs. last year. 18 innings last year with 42 hits + walks. This year almost perfect in 11 innings, just 1 HBP.
-
deGrom with forearm tightness... Could definitely use a couple good healthy arms if anyone wants to explore dealing some pitching.

I love the fact that an astrophysicist who loves to knit and likes baseball (Dr. Meredith Wills) helped figure it out in 2019. If you subscribe to the Athletic this was a pretty fascinating read, I hope she does something like this again this year due to the change in the offensive environment thus far in 2023:

If they did something to the ball nobody told the Rays! Can't believe what they're doing this season. They are still on pace to break the single season homerun record by a team.
-
That's interesting regarding your Cubs/Bats game. I heard that in the Southern League they can't hit shit. 30%K rate, less home runs, etc. something about the stickiness of the ball or something.

Such a shame Kerry Wood's arm couldn't hold up. Maybe the most filthy stuff I've ever witnessed.

I went to the I Cubs vs Louisville Bats game today & they won 18-16, each team put up 21 hits. Pretty sure I've never been to a 34 run 42 hit game before. 9 total home runs (7 for the Cubs) & a couple of them were absolute moonshots. Jake Slaughter literally hit the lights at the top of the light tower beyond the left field wall, Morel hit a couple majestic blasts as well. Thinking more & more MLB may have done something with the ball again or switch back to the 2019 ball

That Wood game was incredible. According to Bill James "Game Score" methodology it was the highest ever game score (105) for a nine inning pitching performance. The lone hit could have arguably been ruled an error as it hit off of Orie's glove as he was ranging to his left. Not sure we will ever see a performance that dominant again.

Still a very memorable Friday afternoon game, reminiscent of Kerry Woods 20 strikeout game that was also an afternoon Wrigley Field game.
-
Yeah that was very disappointing. Not sure if he would have gotten Peralta even if Gomes didn't try for a piggy back ride/leap frog/WWE move but it would have been close.

Hey Winnetka, are you and your loved ones ok? Wisdom just launched a nuke in Wrigleyville

I was getting all excited over Bellinger's and Mancini's home runs just now and then remembered I have Urias going in three leagues, doh!
-
I definitely get to a point where if a guy has been through 5 or 6 dominant innings, I would rather not see him come back out to avoid the late-game blowup and just bank the points they've already put up.
