This is a dumb question, where and how do i cut one of my players, I am not seeing it on roster or the player page? thanks

Don't forget, round 2 of the draft tonight at 9 pm EST!
-
Alright, dudes, I've heard no objections. So let's finish the draft Friday, May 8 at 9 PM Est.
-
That goes directly against what you already said and I spent the rest of my money because you said I was getting the $15 back at the end of the round. If there is anyone who you guys who will pay me the entry fee to the league to take over my team, please let me know and I will gladly leave.

J-Ram salary faster than would otherwise.
-
Here's what I'm thinking on the J. Ramirez matter: I get the buyer beware sentiment, but I also get the honest mistake. So I am planning to execute a penalty-free cut on J. Ramirez but only after the draft is completed in full. It penalizes the honest mistake only by tying up money in the draft when the best players, in theory, are available. Then, after the draft, it speeds up the process of winnowing the penalty to $1. Ultimately it removes the $1 penalty and frees up the money used on the

I am good with friday at9 to complete draft

Let's finish the draft Friday, May 8 at 9 PM Est. Any objections?

I would like to do it before Friday. It’s too hard to wait a whole week haha

I could do rounds today and any day after that.
-
Don't worry about it, you could always try to trade some of those stars for depth if you wanted. On another note, are we set for next Friday or do people want to try to fit in another round before then?

Appreciate that. But the season will not go well for my despite my being very good at snake drafts and roster composition. I have like $2 players for 9 hitters and 5 relievers. I just totally suck at auctions, my god.
-
I want to clarify that I am fine taking Ramirez (AAA) for $10 (my initial and only bid). This would set the precedent that there is a price for mistakes (my mistake in this case). It did not and will not change my spending decisions. Moving forward, we all have 1 night of experience, so let all bidders beware. No more mulligans. That would be my vote, anyway. It is a good thing that the people in the league are competitive and serious about adhering to rules. Should be a great season.
-
The Ramirez decision was already made shortly after the deceptive move, and I made spending decisions based on the fact that I would get the $15 dollars back, so your opinions seem moot.
-
Hey folks, completely botched it and forgot about the draft day, I deleted my calendars from my phone and missed it, no excuses, when is the second round?
-
players recommend that you only spend $380 or so anyway. That leaves more money for in season acquisitions since good players and prospects pop up all the time. I am good with what commish decides, either way. There was not bad intent. I don’t disagree people should be penalized for mistakes, but the player search is not that easy to use if you search by a name (I won’t do that again) and it sucks to have to read fine print (easier to read on some devices than others) when pressed for time.
-
Regarding Ramirez...Ottoneu draft-day mistakes aren’t not that heavily penalized since you can drop them are recover 1/2 the price immediately, then 1/2 the remainder every 30 days (see rules). So if I took Ramirez for $10, I’d drop him after the auction and get $5 added to my cap, then drop again in 30 days to get $2 more, then again to $1. I could potentially turn it into a $1 mistake by the time the season starts. Of course, I’d have $10 less to spend at auction, but many experienced Ottoneu
-
That was obviously the case, but your bid was very quick after the nomination. I was still trying to process whether there was a Braves closer in waiting worth $10 when he jumped to $15 and then crickets. The player name, position, and team were all there on the screen. I knew it was a Braves pitcher before you placed your bid.
-
Yeah, except I genuinely thought I was bidding on the 3b Jose Ramirez.
-
Fun time today! Look forward to the next round. Also curious what the commish will ultimately decide regarding Jose Ramirez (RP-ATL). In thinking more about it, it seems perhaps the two parties should be penalized their bids - the nominating team for $10 and the up-bid for $5. It does not set a good precedent to completely undo avoidable mistakes in a dynasty format. If this were a free redraft league I would be more comfortable with no-harm no-foul. I am fine with any decision tho.

skipping nominations. Looking forward to drafting with you all tonight!
-
Good afternoon, I am looking at going for about 2 hours, 30 min. to 2 hours, 45 min. tonight, with a 5-10 min. break around the halfway mark. I've turned off the Require Nominations setting, since we likely have some first timers to this format and I can't see any advantage in this first round to skipping a nomination. However, I will turn the Require Nominations setting back on after this round, since everybody will have had at least one round of experience and I can see an advantage to

I second that, having the next round of the draft Friday, May 8. Are others okay with that?
-
Sounds good to me... If we could just keep the draft day and time the same each week until we are done; Example start May 1st at 9pm EST and continue every week on Friday at the same time until we are complete. Whether it be 2, 3, or 4 weeks etc. If we draft for 2-3 hours, I do not see the draft dragging on more than 2 weeks.
Thanks, looking forward to the year... just wonder if we will actually see baseball?
-
I've heard from everyone now and there are no objections to May 1 or May 2 at 9 pm EST. I am going to set the draft for Friday, May 1 at 9 pm EST. Let's try to go 2-3 hours on May 1 and see how far we get. Then we need to set a second draft date to finish up. For that I will propose the following weekend, either May 8 or May 9 at 9 pm EST. Let me know what you all think. Thanks
-
Hi all, I just joined up and am looking forward to drafting with everybody. May 1/2 at 9pm est works for me. In general, I am very flexible on draft time/date.

May 1 and 2 at 9pm EST should work for me as well. I am based in Japan, but am in WFH mode as well so that is 10am on Saturday or Sunday.

Start May 1 or 2 works for me. Agree with Vandelay about doing this while many of us are in lockdown. Weekend nights may fill up fast once we are free again. Please speak up if either May 1 or 2, 9pm EST, do not work. Thanks.
-
How about starting Friday, May 1 or Saturday, May 2 at 9 pm EST then finishing the following weekend?
-
Looks like we are up to 11. I bet if we set a draft date somebody will take over the last team very soon.
-
Sounds good, thanks for getting this up and running! I have no kids and I'm on lockdown, so I can draft just about anytime haha.

Update: 10 teams have agreed to draft. 2 teams who joined in early march left: Friar Jim's team is open on "Claim a Team" for free (I think) and name can be changed, and Growing Pain's vacancy is open on "Join a Team" for $20. Send out invites if you like. We have to start somewhere, so I'll make a preliminary proposal to draft in 3 2-hour sessions (9pm-11pm) Saturday nights in May: 5/9, 5/16, 5/23. Most people have indicated flexibility, and I'm definitely open to othe

I am still in as well.

Our fees apply to the 2020 season. If there is baseball in 2020, we play the 2020 season. If not, we keep our rosters for 2021, and redraft in 2021 to replace non-keepers. Since it is a dynasty league, some of us will compete this year, while others may build a team for the future. So if there is baseball, you can play for 2020 or 2021. Either way, we manage the team and gain experience with Ottoneu. For the draft, it seems 2-3 weekend nights in May, 9pm -11pm EST will work for most of us.
-
I was under the impression we would be making a go of it in 2020. Did others think this league is to start in 2021?
-
I’m in. But to be clear, this is for the 2021 season or are we playing if there is a 2020 season. I’ll draft any day and time.
-
I am going to bail on the league. Im not sure how much time/effort I am actually going to put forward, and dont want to ruin the rest of the leagues experience if I am not setting rosters, etc.

I'm down to draft whenever

COMMISH ANNOUNCEMENT: After an exhaustive nationwide search, we are please to announce our new commissioner is...AndrewJ of The Feather-Haired Douchebags...a man of impeccable credentials and character. Thanks for stepping up, Andrew. First order of business is to schedule a draft. Please either: 1. Set your Profile to receive Message Board notifications, or 2. Check in frequently. 3 people haven't checked in recently: Growing Pains, Nankai Hawks, and Friar Jim. Contact if you know them.
-
I'd take it on if nobody else is willing. I'm commish of two other leagues so have some idea how to do it. Can we abandon old Quackback's team so we can fill out the league?
