League Message Board

COMMISH INFO: I communicated with Ottoneu support. The league was created by 'quack2back', who apparently abandoned the league. Niv at Ottoneu is able to assign the role to one of us. I am not unwilling to accept the role, but I think the league might be best served with a Commish who has played before. We will soliticit volunteers over the weekend and get back to Niv on Monday. Once we have a Commish, the role can be transferred any time we desire.

I'm here and down for whatever people decide
I'm just monitoring the messages to find out when the draft is. Then I will promptly draft well and win the league 50% of the years.
-
Hey all. I'm not the commissioner (I don't think anyway, it's been a weird few months lol), I think it was Nate? I'm pretty much happy with whatever settings, and am super flexible on draft times. Definitely still interested. Thanks!
-
It is still a league. People don’t join Ottoneu by accident. That said, anyone who has changed their mind is encouraged to withdrawal now for the general good. It will be a much better league if we have 10 people drafting and participating all year. Thanks!
-
Is this even still a league? Seems like the Commish should weigh in here? Can everybody in the league at least post something stating they are still in the league?

At the present time, the league message board has limited usefulness for determining a draft date and other such issues. Only about half the league has visited the message board in the past month. We need to either collectively change our e-mail preferences to receive message board notifications or compile an e-mail distribution list. I messaged Erikthered (Vanderlay Ind.), our commish, for input. My e-mail is no longer hidden, though I am not certain any of you can access it.

Any other preferences for draft settings?

Hi everyone. First Ottoneu league for me as well, excited to play this format. With regards to the draft, evenings over two sessions work for me. Start times between 7 and 9?

that would be pretty awesome if we could figure that out. Thanks for organizing all of this, Commish!

I'm in favor of drafting earlier. While we do not know when play will resume, part of the allure of joining this league was the potential to draft during the down time and provide some distraction. Later in the evening is fine with me, but 11:30 is a little severe -- I have a day job! Anytime after 7 or 8 pm is fine with me. Also, a 3-hour session seems like about the maximum for most attention spans so would vote for two sessions. Not sure how a slow email draft would work with an auction, but

i would like another Friday or Saturday as 5/31 doesnt work for me, i would need it to be 9Pm or so, no earlier. I would prefer less than 3 hours, would do multiple sessions if possible. I would love a slow email draft if possible so we can get started.
-
We have a tentative draft date of 5/31 @ 11:30 pm EDT. We could express our preference in terms of: 1. Date(s), 2. Times, 3. #Sessions/Length of Session.
1. 5/31 works. Am flexible for other dates.
2. 11:30 pm EDT works for me (east coast night owl), but suggest we move it up if it is too late for others.
3. I’d prefer to go at least 3 hours, and consider multiple sessions if we can’t finish in 4 hours.
-
Let's schedule a draft date! May even need two sessions since starting from scratch.

This is also my first Ottoneu League. I have played in an NL-only keeper league for years, and I am looking forward to a new challenge. Thanks for the translation, Nankai Hawks. I love the name and the significance behind it. Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable season, whenever it starts.

This is my first Ottoneu League as well. My brother-in-law has had a team for years and loves it. I’m excited to play some fantasy baseball with you all! Nankai Hawks — very cool!

Looking forward to my first Ottoneu League. For those who can't read Japanese, my team name is the NANKAI HAWKS, which is the former name of the FUKUOKA SOFTBANK HAWKS, but with much cooler uniforms. The first Japanese born player to play in MLB was on loan from the HAWKS to the SF Giants back in 1964.
