• Thank you to everyone for getting your rosters finalized and payments for this season completed. I have set a tentative draft date of Tuesday, September 3rd at 8 PM EST, after the holiday weekend and 2 days before the first regular season game kicks off. As we have in previous years, I'd like to keep this as close to opening night as possible to avoid teams being inequitably impacted by preseason injuries. Please reach out to me if this date or time does NOT work for you, otherwise get those draft boards ready, football is right around the corner!

• Final reminder that today is the deadline for cuts/trades, and tomorrow is the deadline for payment for the upcoming season. Looks like everyone has legal rosters - they'll be locked at midnight until the draft, so last chance to make any tweaks.

• Just a reminder that the keeper deadline is a week from today, July 31st, so make sure to get any last minute trades done before then, and make your final cuts so your roster is legal and ready for the draft. Also, the deadline for payment for this season is August 1st, if you miss this your team will become publicly available to claim so please get this done as well.   As many of you have already noticed, arbitration is in full swing, and the deadline to complete this is 3/31. Please make sure you get this done as it helps us maintain our competitive balance and replenish the draft pool. I will reach out to teams that haven't finished as the deadline approaches.
  
  Also, make sure you allocate at least $1 to every team, or your arbitration will be considered invalid and won't take effect. Please check on the arbitration page to make sure you are not marked down as incomplete.

• Hey everyone, thanks for a great season, and congratulations to Carolina Cats on their inaugural championship. Very well deserved after some close misses in recent years.
  
  Rosters are locked for now, and arbitration will run from February 15th-29th, after which rosters will open back up for trading/cuts. I hope everyone is planning on playing again next year, but if you're not please let me know so we can try and get someone in to participate in the full offseason.

• From the Ottoneu rulebook:
  
  "At no time shall a team willingly go over roster and salary cap limits. If a team knowingly does this, they will face penalties at the discretion of their league's commissioner."
  
  I'm not going to quibble about minor discrepancies, but if there is an egregious attempt to hoard prospects or players until after the offseason shakes out, you will be asked to make your roster legal or it will be made legal for you.

  Apologies for this unfortunate situation. I think we can all agree given the quality of some of these players/contracts, these cuts are not conducive to maintaining a fair and honest fantasy football league. I reached out to Virtual Football Outfit last night shortly after this happened to see if there is any reasonable explanation for this, so far he has not responded. If I don't hear back from him by 5 PM EST tonight, I will place the players back on his team, remove him as the manager, and contact the Ottoneu admins with his user information, as it appears this is not the only league he uses this platform for.
  
  If anyone has any questions/concerns about this, please let me know. In the meantime, assuming he does not respond, at least with any reasonable explanation, it would be great if anyone has someone that would be willing to take over at least for the rest of the year. I think it's a very strong team for anyone that wants to join a dynasty league, but I'm not sure how many Ottoneu users we don't know will be actively looking to add a new team 5 weeks into the season.   First off, it has come to my attention you are actually unable to pay for Ottoneu at the moment. It looks like the site is transitioning away from Paypal to another payment processor, hence the payment deadline extension to 8/15. If you are interested, updates from Niv can be found here:

  Now that we've turned the page on this part of the Ottoneu calendar, please make sure to pay for this season by 8/15. The deadline was pushed out a couple weeks but it will not get extended further. If you do not pay by this date your team will become publicly available to claim and you risk losing all your hard fantasy football work to a stranger. Right now this applies to everyone in the league, so if you're reading this, go do it!
  
  Another note, I've scheduled the draft for 9/5 @ 8 PM EST. This is the Tuesday after labor day weekend. Figure we want to do it as close to opening night (9/7) as possible to avoid bad preseason injury luck as best we can. If anyone has any strong objections to this draft time, let me know and I can reschedule, but if I don't hear any complaints I will assume everyone can attend.

  1. Trade season is officially open! So update those trade blocks and start wheeling and dealing. The deadline for cuts is 7/31, at which point rosters will lock until the draft.
  
  2. The deadline to pay for this season is 8/1. No rush, but please make sure to do it before then, as your team will become available for anyone to claim if you miss this.
  
  3. It looks like we've gotten in a replacement for Simon de Montfort, however I've been informed we're also looking for a replacement for "Blow it Up." There's some pretty good pieces on this squad, and if anyone has someone that can takeover, that would be great. If we don't get anyone in by the end of the month, I will make them publicly available to claim.
  
  4. NFL Draft starts a week from today. Should have a big impact on our league, so make sure to tune in. Never too early to start getting excited for football season!

  Hope everyone is doing well. Quite the Super Bowl to cap off football season.
  
  Ottoneu never sleeps though, and arbitration is officially open! Please take some time to complete this before it closes on 3/31.
  
  One sad note - The Cali Cartel is departing the league. They've completed arbitration already so we're not in a huge rush to fill the spot, but if anyone knows an interested party that would like to join in time to participate in all the offseason festivities please let me know. If not, after arbitration I will open up the spot to the public.
  
  Hopefully this is not the case, but if anyone else is planning on calling it quits please let me know. Otherwise, enjoy the offseason, and stay tuned for fantasy calendar updates. 205 days until NFL opening night!

  Team Unlimmmited already owned Zonovan Knight, and had since the auction draft in 2021. It looks like Ottoneu created a duplicate version of him that was up for auction in our league. I have given him the new version and removed the old version from his roster with no cap penalty. If you had your heart set on winning the auction, apologies. Not sure how it will work out as the auction is still going, but if for whatever reason some glitchy co-ownership situation is created, I will remove him from the auction winner's roster with no cap penalty.

  Exciting opening week, looks like we have some potential powerhouse teams. Make sure you don't miss out on waiver adds and update those trade blocks if you're so inclined!
  
  Unfortunately I have some bad news. As you may have noticed Beautiful Madness was handed a free win this week, and I've confirmed with longtime league stalwart and two-time champ Simon de Monfort that he is not going to be able to fully participate this year. We thank him for his years of service and wish him luck in his newfound fatherhood.
  
  It's obviously a bit late, but we're going to try to find a replacement to take over for this season. Some feelers have been put out, but if we have nothing concrete in 24 hours I'm going to abandon the team as well and make it publicly available to claim. I have no idea if this will yield any results at this point in the fantasy football calendar, so if anyone knows someone that may be interested in taking over please reach out. While the roster may be incomplete I think the bones of a solid squad are there, and adding someone with a personal connection to the league is always good. Also the entry for this year has already been paid, so you can add that as a selling point.

  First off, reminder the draft is tonight.
  
  Second, I've gotten a request to move the draft back 1 hour, to 8 PM EST. Hopefully this isn't an issue for anyone, but if there are any objections please let me know and we'll stick with the status quo, the requestor will just have to live with it. I don't anticipate this taking very long as rosters are pretty filled out already compared to years past.
