Hi Everyone, we have a new manager on board! Jonathan asked that I add Miguel Cabrera back to his team. Given that Cabrera was cut by the team's previous manager during the offseason before he abandoned his team, I think it's fair to reverse this transaction. Just wanted to let everyone know the thought process.

Alright everyone, 10 out of 13 have responded and indicated that the evening March 12 and March 14 are the best dates. So, the first date will be March 12 at 6pm Pacific Time. We'll power through until three people want to call it a night and then finish the rest at 6pm Pacific on March 14.

Whoops wrong league on the auction link

Link to the slow draft which I’ll take live early Sunday: https://www.couchmanagers.com/auctions/?auction_id=76
-
Yes, I double checked. Though, I think the East Coasters will see the appropriate Time Zone indicated when completing it.
-
Although it says at the top of the Doodle, just wanted to confirm the time options are PST? I've made that mistake too many times before lol
-
Apologies everyone, for not sending this out earlier. Below is a Doodle scheduling link for the draft. I think we might need two draft nights again. So, please indicate your availability at the link below and we'll choose two dates that work for as many people as possible. I'd like to wrap everything before the initial games on 3/20 begin.

Started the first 20 team league in the history of Ottoneu. A few open spots left. Points league, no playoffs. We'll run a slow auction over the course of a month. $20. https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/processinvite?code=eyJMZWFndWVJRCI6IjEwNTMiLCJJbnZpdGVyIjoibWlsbGVyY2hhcmxleSIsIkludml0ZXJJRCI6IjQ2NjgwIn0=

CHC draft dates are up and currently being filled. If you are looking for a specific day might be better to get one soon before some times get filled.....

Thanks Gar-Ber. I'm glad to see the SP limit changes. would have rather seen them decrease more, but 10 per week is a start.
I'm good for whatever dates and times and 1 marathon session or a two day affair.

We've been discussing it, and it might have to be 2 days again. We had a ton of cuts. Maybe we could get it done in one day if everyone could commit to a 4 hour session.

Have we decided on a date for the auction draft this year?

We've confirmed that 2019 will have a weekly starts limit of 10 for SPs?

AZ, as of right now, yup. Every team has a manager. I'll send out something to help us pick a date for the draft in the next couple weeks.

I could be wrong, but I think innings caps just apply to roto leagues and the 7/10 GS/week is the H2H replacement.
-
I don't think so. I think it's just a GS limit every week. Brian, you know?
-
Do we have a 1500 inning cap this year?

I imagine the expectation is you're planning ahead, of setting your lineup in advance won't matter.
I also agree with the 10 to start, but think moving down to 7 starts per week over the course of time (perhaps over the course of a couple years) is ideal.
-
Based on what I've read, if we choose a GS hard cap option, there will be 5 SP slots per day, assuming you still have 5 GS left. If you've thrown 7 through Friday, only 3 will appear Saturday. If you've thrown 8 through Saturday, only 2 will appear Sunday. However, I'm unsure how setting your lineup in advance would work with those removable slots.
-
I agree with 10-12 starts. We are not a first year auction so teams were built with an idea in mind and 7 would change the dynamics of the pitching significantly. Will they be adding more then 2 sp slots now that starts will be capped.

RE: GS -- I think a hard cap at 10 is the right number to start. Moving from an environment where most teams were probably in the 9-12 range, I think going down to 7 maybe overcompensates and unfairly changes the economics/prices of the league and current keeper strategies. We're still learning how Ottoneu works, so I'm hesitant to change the limit too drastically.
-
RE: hard cap on SP starts each week = I vote for 7 (7 days a week, so like an MLB team you plan for 7 starts). But not a strong opinion if people like a nice round number like 10.
-
Hello Everyone, quick reminder, that the keeper deadline is January 31. My understanding is that everyone on your roster after that date will be a keeper and will count against your cap.
Also, there is a new setting that allows a hard cap for Games Started each week. I know we all agree there should be a cap, we just need to choose the appropriate number of games. I have selected 10. Feel free to share your preferences and if there is a clear divide, we'll put it up to a vote.

If it was your player, you get a $5 discount on the final price. So, say you bid $25 and win the auction, your final cost is only $20.
-
In the auction draft, hoe does it work if you bid on a player that was voted off of your team?

The salary box in your roster screen is for you to allocate how much you think you'll pay to keep that player in order for you to do roster management on that screen. You'll notice that whatever dollar value you put in there affects the cap numbers at the top, same as if you list a player as "cut" or "trade". It's just a roster management tool.
