Great, Thunder Gun is on the clock.

I would like to select Alek Thomas, OF (ARZ) with my first pick.

Agreed, no need to skip a pick right now and I know Mookie is quite busy so it’s understandable.
-
I'll be ready to draft as soon as Mookie gets his pick in (I don't plan on skipping his pick since this draft got started up pretty quickly)
-
Great work Commish. Thanks for the spreadsheet!

I believe that's somewhere between the 8th to 10th time I've acquired Honeywell on a fantasy team in the last 3 years...
-
The order is the same for each round, not snaked, as the league decided in a survey a bit back.
-
Are we snaking for the draft or straight order?

Two things folks: You'll notice those players drafted thus far have been added to our league's restricted list. This is to ensure they cannot be drafted our auctioned. It's probably best we all check in and make sure all the required players are added by the end of the draft.
Second, I've made a spreadsheet keeping draft of the draft's progress. After the draft I'll also make a spreadsheet which lists each team's MiLB rosters. You can find the spreadsheet via the link in the next message

Thanks. I select Joey Bart as the First pick

Thanks for running this, Commissioner Bats. I’d love to see the spreadsheet when it’s up and running. Looking forward to doing something constructive during the February doldrums.

I think it's alright to be a bit lenient on the time limit at the beginning. If it starts to get close to March 1 and we still have some picks to get through we can speed things up. Really this goes for anyone: if you think you won't be able to get a pick in exactly within 24 hours, but can get one in close to that time frame, that's fine, just let me know so I don't just skip your pick. I think generally picks will roll in pretty quickly as we get going.
-
I’m also super excited! I’m gonna try my best to adhere to the time limit, but my father-in-law has been in hospice for about a month and is really close to the end. There’s no “best available” button is there? Haha.
-
Woo!! I'm very excited for this. Already have my first couple of picks lined up, although they will probably all be gone before my turn.
-
With all of this being said, I think we can put Giancarlo's Hit Men on the clock! You have 24 hours to announce a selection on the message board.
-
I will be keeping track of the picks in a spreadsheet, which I can share with all of you. The draft order is the reverse of last season's standings and so is as follows: Hit Men, BellyBall, Kimonos, Boba Chette, Banter, Dawgs, TLBM, BALCO, Squirrels, Mookie, Thunder Gun, Bats. For any further details on the rosters, we are loosely following the guidelines outlined here: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/5milb-rules-for-ottoneu-champions-league/1016

Alright so starting today we will being the MiLB roster draft. Being our first year we each can draft up to 5 players. As a reminder, they can (obviously) not be currently rostered by any team in the league and must have no past Major League PA or IP. Owners will announce their picks here on the message board and I am tentatively requiring that owners make their pick within 24 hours of the last pick or their pick in that round will be skipped.
-
I'll work the details of this out over the weekend, but the answer is very soon.
-
Any thoughts when the MiLB draft will start? Thanks.
-
Just a reminder to get in your last cuts/trades before the deadline at midnight EST! There will be no roster moves between then and the draft.
-
Last two cuts for me are going to be Ozuna ($29) and Abreu ($27). I understand the price is a few dollars higher than projection systems/avg salary but there will be some inflation and bid wars at the draft. Looking for very little in return.
-
Last chance before the deadline to make an offer for Machado!
-
Wasn't sure. Thx fellas.
-
That's right. After Perez starts 5 games at Catcher this season he will earn his eligibility.
-
I think it might take 5 games in order to have eligibility but please someone with more expertise prove me otherwise!
-
Anyone know how/when Salvador Perez will regain his C eligibility?
-
Looking forward to it. On a more selfish note, I am in the hunt for some starting pitching. Looking to deal a couple of OF to get a few good arms. Thank you
-
Seeing as it appears to be a consensus improvement, let’s officially set our draft for March 1 at 7 pm EST.
Don’t forget the cut deadline on the 31!
-
Works much better for me.
-
Good with 7
-
Fine by me
-
With a few people mentioning perhaps starting the draft later, would starting at 7 pm eastern work for everyone?
-
The later the better for me but will make whatever work
-
That time (or later) is fine with me.
-
With all the polls completed I would like to set the draft for Sunday evening on March 1. All but one owner choose some time slot given that date and I verified that this day would work with this owner. Now we just need to solidify a time. How does starting at 6 pm eastern sound? If there are any major conflicts with this time let me know, otherwise I think we should try to make this work. Keep in mind the draft should take about 3 hours, if a bit shorter.
-
Yeah I think this league appreciated having the points winter be the winner winner last season. I have no strong feelings about switching format.

Roto please. Too much work to undo a year+ of roster construction.
