The issue is you repainting yourself as a victim when you no trades or terrible trades and then bitch collusion when you don’t win a deal

I feel like you're trying to repaint the issue as one where the salary cap being inflated is the problem. That is not the issue. The issue is 2 teams working in tandem, that's the only thing being voted on in a veto. That's not a slippery slope at all for rebuilds moving forward. That's a lack of tolerating that specific practice between two teams moving forward. It takes a few years of trade history for any valid argument to be made. Not slippery.
-
You don’t like the strategy , which is entirely within the rules. If we want to put limits on selling in future in form of salary cap that’s fine. But just because you don’t offer to selling teams , doesn’t make rebuilders colluders

Pretty clear we agree, Inglorious. I just don’t know if vetoing trades is going to be successful and it really gets in to a gray area. If done once, it opens up a whole can of worms. Scrutinizing every trade going forward. Folks should be able to trade whoever they want to trade.
A cap would just limit the amount of buying a team can do in a given year. Even the playing field for those “going for it”. But no bottom cap, so you can sell as much as you want.

Ah yes, a full punt rebuild and compete next year - a strategy so bad it wins championships (Malibu) and you’re accusing us of collusion over!

The (poor) decision to sell this early isn't in question. Sell away. The oddly specific sort of deals that you exclusively make together despite wild variance of deals with all other players is what's in question. The stacking and loading of both a sell off/farm team and a full blown title run team annually is what's in question.
-
@Pitter if the league wants a salary cap long term we can vote on it. Not applicable to season already underway

We don't need a hard cap, we need to decide as a group if something is fishy with Matt and Pratt functioning as a tandem farm/pro team or not. If the trade history feels suspicious to you veto this trade, if it doesn't, no need. Let Matt toss in his $100 for free a month before a game is played. Let Pratt roleplay Aaron Boone all season.
-
No it doesn't... specifically says not 100%. Same reason why I still have all my SPs. And Matt, your personal valuations mean dick. I wanted Bohm. I got him.
-
And hey, maybe it’s all just a coincidence, and if so I honestly sincerely apologize.
Either way, I’d still like to discuss a hard cap though. If nobody wants it, that’s cool, just think it would help.

There is no plan that we will always trade with each other its so irresponsible to say that

The only plan I had was to rebuild from a 1,000$ salary. Obvious candidate to tank, would have loved to get more offers and a better value from other teams - it just didn’t exist

I’d also like to say that collusion is not the right word here. The trades are fair in the context of this league. It’s just that there’s a plan. Year in and year out. And that plan undermines the integrity/fun of the league. (In my eyes at least). I do apologize, I should have chosen my words more carefully.
As for the all the rejected trades with my name on it? Yeah, that’s true, I do have a ton. I admittedly send out rough trades sometimes, but FWIW, they are sent with intent to

Brantley and Bohm are basically the same player in 21, you gave voit for a better contract . Definitely a sell

So, the complaint is I made Pratt’s team worse? And were both punting now in 2021? What’s your concern then? You should be happy to take our money then.

I also absolutely have not committed to selling off ..not sure what you're talking about. I think $6 Bohm is a crazy good piece in this format.
-
Not sure I follow, and return is subjective. Although I wouldn't brag if I were you as again, of course you got a better return from your buddy. That's kinda what we're getting at here...you two have done this multiple times before. You're effectively carrying a farm system for each other.
-
@just a bit - I got more than you did for Brantley and Voit. you’re selling in Feb too. How could you not see how that’s relevant? I have to judge trades based on the market. If there’s two or three bidders , and you’re not one - it’s you who is going to lose out. Why would I play by an arbitrary rule that I can only trade when you like it ?

IDK, I hate confrontation. Even on the internet. And I also think you are still beatable Pratt! And I do like competition! I’m just thinking a cap might be a good idea. Not saying we have to do it, just an option to discuss

Pick any trade history , put it on here, and I’m happy to review competing offers and show everything else I had open at the time. I’ve always accepted the *best* offer and what’s strategic for a long term plan. Just because it doesn’t benefit you doesn’t make it collusion.

I don't really get the "where was your offer" argument. Maybe teams didn't want to give you the opportunity for such a move this early in the season.
-
Hey man, I just call it as I see it. To be honest I didn’t think you’d sell that fast. Where was that shopping offer? You got some nice pieces back, but ya didn’t even shop those big arms around?
Also... and this doesn’t necessarily mean anything either, but the trade history also shows all the rejected trades as well... before any “Pratt - Matt” trade there are no rejected trades. Perhaps they are the perfect offers? Then again... we know teams throw out rough offers from time to t

Where was your offer pitter patter? I told you beforehand exactly what my plan was! You knew months ago I was trading before auction, then trading for prospects after auction. Apparently it was ok just a bit to sell a few days ago - collusion stuff is total BS , you had didn’t send an offer.

Don’t know how that goes for this year, but this league, more than any other I’m in, really gets some inflated caps. If that becomes the norm year to year, it no longer becomes the type of Ottoneu game that’s intended (in my eyes at least). I totally get buying and selling in given years, but if it takes 800 dollars in cap to win... well I guess there will be a lot of parity!! (But if things stay the same, you’ll be competeting with either Matt or Pratt in a given year)
Karn Kids on

I was waiting for this trade, but I sort of thought they’d wait until later in the year... I guess they were a little afraid of the competition this year! It’s pretty obvious that Matt and Pratt have some sort of agreement going on, if you go through the trading history over the years, there really only is one type of trade. And maybe that’s fine, the current deal is arguable on merit as some decent pieces were moved. I guess in the end my thought is, would we want to institute a hard cap?

I think I am the only true minor league team here as my $100 is essentially a donation to the rest of the league. I play more for fun then to win. Which is probably evident by some of the people on my roster. But if I were to play to win I would do the same boom or bust strategy that I feel at least half the teams in this league employ. That being said this is my year. Anyone want any of my prospects for some top tier talent and a loan I am open for business!!!!!!

You guys really can't decide which one of you wants Lux, eh? Same with Martin and Vaughn.
-
Also, apologies to Malibu. You deserved every ounce of credit for that title and rebuild.
-
Add a few N. Solaks for Dom Smith type deals this season, it'll help your case
-
It's not even a lopsided deal, it keeps one of you non-competitive and nothing's a lock to work out. Stop acting like I am upset with this one isolated deal. It's fine. The systematic annual exchanging of super prospects for overpriced top 50 assets is what I am questioning. To me it feels more like one of you plays the role of farm squad, the other the big club. You've done a poor job hiding it too, not sure you've had a single fair value swap of players, only lopsided xfers of elites back/fort
-
Not liking a deal is one thing, but to pretend your opinion is an objective fact is another thing entirely. If you can't see intent and motive behind those trades idk what to say. If you wouldn't have done it, fine. Say that and move on. Don't try and manage others teams tho.

Isn't the real victory all the friends we made along the way you guys?
Malibu told me to come join this league because everyone was so congenial but I think he was not truthful.
-
Everyone I know we want to argue but please don't forget that you can also trade me top 50 players for long-shot prospects
-
Why are you averting attention away from hacking my otteneu accounts? See how this works? I can say crazy things too
-
Sorry I'm attempting to ruin your turn in the rotation. More strawman tactics tho, less defending the trade history.
-
Inglorious has hacked my otteneu login multiple times and benched my starting pitchers on nights they pitched well. I of course have no proof of this but I think it's true so now it too must be accepted as fact
-
Anyway, me being a loudmouth asshole isn't in question. That's kind of a known, I always sound off aggressively on shit for sure. I have double checked the trade history tho and will stand objectively by the fact that Pratt and Matt trade history as a whole is questionable, the deal is bad for the league.
-
You do a lot of guessing. Not a lot of being right.
-
I'll admit that I was guessing there. JBY was the dude who had enough and bailed and his team was stacked lol
-
Isn't Malibu JBY?
-
Inglorious literally just makes shit up nonstop. He just said malibus previous owner dominated before he left but came in last place in both 2018 and 2019
-
You can do that if you want, and continuing to not address the systematic swapping of mega prospects for kinda shitty contracts on top 50 players. Yes, Malibu, one Haul is a fine deal. The issue isn't one haul. It's the repetitive series of these moves being swapped alternatively to stack one team for now, one for the future. It's also the reason you were able to snag an STACKED team, the prev owner, despite dominating, had enough bullshit
