I'm up for whatever. I don't mind Otto but really don't like the way waivers works. It sucks when you identify an under the radar player only to have to expose him to the entire league. I would literally start auctions for 3 players hoping just to get one and maybe be lucky enough to get my main target without having to overbid. At least in CBS research paid off.
-
Thanks Derek! Work some magic. Same goes for anyone else. Recruit, recruit, recruit!
-
I have a guy looking into the league who may be willing to join, FYI
-
Also waiting on Dave (DRA44) to get back to me
-
My concern is not having a league at all. We were 16 teams to begin with, lost 4 teams last year, gained 2 with PSB and Sandlot. This year we are 14 teams and stand to lose Rex Hudler, Hoth, Bare Knuckle Reign and Hot Mess. If we can get at least two more new owners we are good. I think the remaining owners are still down for the Otto
-
I played a cbs league from 08 to 2013 or so. I do think the cbs software is better, but I love the otto format. That said, if we go to cbs, I will have to bow out. Leagues across multiple sites is too much for me to manage. I am one of the new guys though, so don't let me hold you back. I really enjoyed playing h2h otto either way.

Count me opposed to a migration back to CBS...
-
Ok, so the feedback I'm getting is a few of the members would prefer that we return to a traditional format. Plastic Soto Band and Sandlot, we were on CBS since 2005 and came over to Ottoneu in 2018. I'm cool with going back to CBS. The only concern would be how we would migrate keepers back to that league. We all have invested in players and I don't want to just upend that. Maybe allow a large amount of keepers for 2020 and dial it back over the next couple of seasons.
-
Just confirmed that Bare Knuckle Reign is out
-
If anyone has a friend who'd like to take over a team let me know, as it stands we're looking at losing at least 3 teams. I'll drop it down to a 12 team (standard league).
-
The Rogue will be back now that they have a $31 option on Chris Sale ;)
-
Davido/LooiesWindup assumes the position and says "Thank you Sir, I'll have another!"

Hot Mess is out. We can drop down to 12 teams but will likely need to recruit one more team
-
Congrats to Plastic Soto Band. Nicely done
I'll be back next year
-
Bare Knuckle Reign hasn't touched his team since May 9th, probably not a good sign.
-
I know Rex Hudler won't be back.

Congrats to you, PSB!

Congrats to PSB! Another fun year, and by "fun", I mean absorbing a slew of career-worst seasons and debilitating injuries. Let the off-season begin!

Congrats to Plastic Soto Band. You whooped my ass.
-
As a first year H2H player, I have to say I enjoyed this league more than the other regular roto leagues. I look forward to playing again next year.
-
This being my first year, can you tell me what the old format was?
-
Yeah I was chasing the rabbit hole quickly with you...but you had a better record for a reason.
I tried to improve this season just like every other year...I just have to face facts I'm just an average baseball guy...

I'm going to take a poll after the season to see how everyone wants to proceed in 2020. I've received some requests to go back to the old category based H2H in another format.
-
In season long leagues, those teams usually sell off and rebuild, and at the same time force the top teams to sell off their value-priced assets to compete in the salary "arms race". I don't know if that is better or worse, but there is more turnover at the top.

Regarding "the same four teams", does anyone think H2H sort of promotes that? When half the league makes the playoffs almost everyone still has a shot going into the last week or tow of the regular season. So the incentive for a average to bad team isn't to rebuild, but find a way to be the last over the line and make the playoffs.

No worries, few things less fun than going down a 150+ a few days into your play off week. You had a great season though, I was pretty worried going into last week.

You are missing the point if you are "selling high" by selling him off at $0.75 on the dollar. Sean is worse off in every way on this trade. My criteria for approval is pretty low: I don't have to agree with it, I just need to be able to rationalize why somebody might think it makes sense. But with no loan, no prospect, no sweetener at all heading Sean's way, I cannot will my brain to meet that very basic criteria. It makes zero sense for 2019, 2020, and beyond for Sean.
-
This isn't a case of Mike Trout for Brock Holt. Moose is playing way above his career lines and Abreu is a good 1b who's putting up good numbers. Sean is selling high and I need to get a 1b off my roster. You may not have made this trade but I don't see it as a veto.
-
Check that, $9 more expensive, not $6
-
OK, I am going to stand up and say that I have just voted to veto a trade for the first time, at least since we switched over to Ottoneu. I can't make sense of the Moustakas/Abreu trade. Why would you engage in a straight-up two-player trade where the player you acquire is two years older, is down the defensive spectrum, YTD performance nearly 2 pts per game inferior, AND $6 more expensive?
-
I'll check it out, thanks!
-
If you look on your team page if you have players with cap penalties who are highlighted they can be auctioned
