We have reached majority for both proposals - some revision of MiLB system and some form of cap.
We still need to hear from Gunnar, Zach and Ford, but we will likely head to conversations about both rules shortly.
-
I would listen on MiLB changes, but I do not mind the system as is
I would agree a Harder Cap limit would be good.

Yes to cap but agree with tiered penalties over a hard cap.
Yes to milb changes but I won’t pretend to have any strong/good ideas for how to change
-
There needs to be plenty more discussions, especially for MiLB but I vote:
CHANGE MiLB
YES for Salary cap

The soft cap that comes with tiered penalties that Christmas Carroll suggested is a lot more interesting to me than a hard cap.
-
I am in favor of changing the MiLB system. A hard cap is understandable but could present unforeseen challenges in the future. Tough one. I’m leaning toward implementation so that will be my vote for now.
-
I would also vote to change the MiLB system with the preference to not be able to trade picks
-
I would vote yes to a cap as we need a competitive balance. I would make it tiered, for example if you go over $475 you forfeit your 2nd round pick and over $500 is your 1st and 2nd rounder. I don't see how running teams over $500+ promotes competitive balance or helps rebuilding teams. No cap leads to one sided trades as high priced salaries are acquired at 25 cents on the dollar and makes the last 2+ months irrelevant for like 85% of the league.
-
I vote yes to change the MiLB system and no to the salary cap. I have some suggestions for the MiLB system I can share if that one ends up passing. On the salary cap, something to consider is a hard cap may hurt rebuilding teams as much as anybody. You could run into a situation where you'd like to offload an expensive player for future pieces, but the main teams you'd be dealing with are up against whatever hard cap is instated.
-
I vote yes to change the MiLB system (preference for no trading of picks). I vote no for salary cap.
-
I am in favor of getting rid of the milb draft and minor league teams and I vote yes for a more firm cap
-
Yes to both the proposals.

If anyone has issues with this, please let me know!

The other thing I want to bring up is the Roki Sasaki situation. Our charter lays out the rules for who is eligible and who is not. While Sasaki falls into the category as being eligible for the draft because he is not signing an MLB deal, we are handling this like we did with Ohtani in 2017/2018 when he signed a similar deal and also was not eligible for the MiLB draft.
So Roki Sasaki will NOT be eligible for the 5MiLB draft, rather just available during the MLB auction
-
For transparency's sake because I can adjust mine, I am taking $5 off Witt and $3 off Gunnar, leaving them both at $23... we like to keep things even.

As Ryan so subtly mentioned, Arbitration period has ended (thank you all) and thus begins the next (and most exciting) phase of the offseason - trades are open!
If any trades include a draft pick, just please make it very clear the round/year in the offer.
Also the arb coupons need to be utilized ASAP. I'll follow this up with a list of teams and arb coupon amounts.
Thanks all!

TRADES?!?!?!??????!!!!!

Less than a week until Arbitration period is complete. PLEASE GO IN AND ADD YOUR ALLOCATIONS IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO ALREADY.
Thanks.

Final weekend of the season is upon us and a reminder of the September Sprint. Through 9/26 games the 4 teams going for draft picks are in this order:

Sale's Throwbacks - 1776.8
Donkey Hacks - 1094.4
Reminder that the order of this determines the order of the first four picks of the February MiLB draft!
Good Luck you four!

This might be slightly different than previous years, but after looking back at the league charter, this is how it was written for picks 1-4. If anyone has a problem, please let me know!
Thanks and good luck all!

Reminder that the September Sprint is upon us for the fight for the #1 overall pick.
The 4 teams in the Spring are Donkey Hacks, Sale's Throwbacks, Murphy's Law and All Arraez.
The team with the most points from 9/1 to end of season will earn that #1 pick. The 2nd most points will get the 2nd pick, the 3rd most points will get the 3rd pick, and the 4th most points will get the 4th pick. Then picks 5-12 will be in reverse order of standings.
-
Rhett Lowder has been promoted and expected to start Friday. He has been added to All Arraez. No further moves needed

Please do not bid on devries. I can’t cancel the auction but he will be removed from team (without salary penalty) once auction is dkne
-
Leo De Vries is on Ford's MiLB roster. We will void that auction
-
De Vries is on MILB roster. He just wasn’t in database when drafted.
-
In the other trade, I traded my 2025 3rd Round pick to JUKE.
That has now been updated to a 2025 4th round pick and 2026 2nd round pick to JUKE.
The draft Google sheets has been updated.
-
Spent some time cleaning up the 2025 (and 2026) draft board with recent trades including draft picks. During that process I found 2 trades that included draft picks that had already been traded.
In a prior trade between Mitch and I, a 2025 2nd round pick has been changed to a 2026 2nd round pick. Kevin will retain the 2nd round pick he acquired on July 3, 2024.
The other trade was me trading a pick I didn't have and am negotiating that issue currently.
