We will discuss about tweaking these proposed rules for 2026 after the conclusion of the 2025 season as there seems to be majority interest in both still.

For the buy-in crowd... I can be convinced. But it's already built into Ottoneu if we just want to up the league to a $50 tier. Niv and Ottoneu just handle all the payouts and we don't have to manage it as a separate entity. Just a thought.

No cap.
No buy-in.
-
I’m a no on Buy-in as well, as I didn’t clarify that earlier
-
No on cap at this moment. Could be interested in the future with a further understanding of how much it would impact the league, potential penalties, etc.
No on buy in. Generally a yes, but agree with others that I’d prefer that that is something everyone is okay with/in on, which doesn’t appear to be the case at this time.
Cheers and go Chiefs, y’all!

I would change my vote to no on the buy in unlesss it was unanimous.
-
Yes to cap
Yes to buy-in
-
The buy in does require 8 votes to pass. so a 2/3rds majority. If there is more pushback about the buy in we can reconsider it.
-
Yeah, I totally get that. I’m not in the business of making people pay an additional $20 than planned unless they approved it. I think a unanimous vote would have to make sense there
-
Even though I’m in support of the buy in, it feels like this should have been ironed out prior to Jan. 31. Since it wasn’t, I think we should consider having it require universal support in order to pass.
I only want it if everyone wants it.
-
Yes to the cap, yes to the buy in.
While I’d prefer some of the “soft” cap ideas we were bouncing around earlier, what was suggested in the email works for me. An extra $100 of wiggle room is still a lot to work with.

No cap. We can reassess next offseason with a more clear proposal and penalties if there’s a further groundswell of support.
No decision on a buy in from me yet. We haven’t had one for a minute
-
No to cap
Yes to buy in

Oh boy….
Yes for a cap
No for a buy in

We’ve adjusted some Ottoneu rules, but more in adding an MiLB system, not messing with fundamentals of the setup (other than that one year).
If you look around at other Ottoneu leagues VERY few have a cap. I’ve heard of a no loan league, but that gets messy as well.
If you decide to take in $100+ in loans, that’s just making your off-season more difficult by forcing you to cut more players than other teams. The cap always resets after the season, I do not think a cap
-
This may sound obvious coming from someone who runs over the $400 cap often, but I argue every time it hurts the rebuilding teams.
If you are out of the race during the season and have some expensive players you aren’t keeping a cap simply makes it much more difficult to trade your expensive guy when there’s a cap. If we want parity, the best way is to actually not have a cap. Rebuilding teams should be able to shop their expensive guys to as many managers to get the best package
-
As I remove my commissioner cap and feel more comfortable saying some more opinionated pieces, I think the hard cap will backfire the intentions of the rule… again.
For those who are newer to the league, we had a very similar rule instituted in the league. We had a similar discussion, and voted on it and had a consensus to have the rule.
It lasted for one year after all but one manager voted to repeal the hard cap. I’m trying to avoid this again.
-
I’ll make it simple first
No cap
Buy in
-
Good evening everyone! I just sent out an email which goes over quite a bit. Please make sure to read it and post your vote for the salary cap and for the Buy-in here on the message board.

Thank you all for getting MLB and MiLB cuts in before deadline.
Couple league notes/updates.
We will not be starting the draft late February/early March as one of the managers will be on vacation for the bulk of February and I do not want him to be thinking about fantasy baseball drafts
One other note, I will be stepping down as commissioner effective today. Abe (Wacha Me Win) will be taking over as main point with Ryan still acting as co-commissioner.
