I just noticed, the Chamber leads ERA and WHIP, because he has no pitchers or players at all, obviously. Are we just going to leave this like that?
-
Whenever I play with limits I like to set up a starting line-up that - on paper - doesn't require tinkering as if my hitters will play all 162. I'll tell you what else is hard though: keeping my transaction-happy ways in check. Will run out of money fast at this rate!

This 162 game limit at each position is hard. I keep benching all my guys who hit HRs to save the starts.

For me, I drafted Posey hoping for ~120-130 games of production, with Contreras available for 30-40 games of decent supplemental Catcher stats when matchups are favorable. (as an added advantage, Contreras has OF eligibility so that I can get more than 30-40 games out of him if he and Posey are both performing well.) Having a Matt Wieters/Jose Lobaton team platoon may be easier to manage, but Lobaton's counting stats in 40 games played might not be worth his negative impact on batting average.
-
Re: Catchers, this seems like a useful primer: http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/chronicles-of-ottoneu-platoon-catcher-strategy/. It seems like managing games played is a real challenge, as with one lineup spot you'd never maximize your counting stats at the position since most catchers only play 110-120 games per year. But 2 catchers would go over 162 game limit. Having 2 starting roster spots allows you to get 2 games in one day in case both are off on Sunday, but you need to monitor closely.
-
From what I understand the game gives you two spots, because it's nearly impossible to get to the 162 games limit with only one catcher. So now whenever both of your catchers are announced to play, you don't have to pick. Of course, you could also get multiple catchers of the same team so you don't have to worry about the position at all.

Does anyone know how the catcher platoon works? Do you need to have catchers from the same team nd the catcher who plays that night scores points. Or can it be catchers from different teams where you have some kind of priority where only one of the catchers scores points if both play?

BREAKING NEWS: nothing will change regarding the upcoming part of the auction Fortunately Sonny's owner will only miss about an hour instead of the two hours we thought earlier (daylight saving is to blame). So to clear things up: Sunday's auction will be at 2pm EDT and 20:00 CEST. See y'all then!

Nothing, he bailed on us. I think it's best to treat it as an 11 team league for now as a new owner would complicate the 2nd half of the auction immensely.

Any news from the owner of The Chamber?
-
There are a few Opening Day games on April 2. Would those games' stats not count? If not, I vote against April 2.
-
It's my understanding that moving the auction a week ahead would lead to the same problem, so the auction will be held next Sunday just like we originally planned. My apologies for any confusion. Right now I'm asking if the Mets owner is okay with delaying the auction for an hour. If not, then nothing will change and I'm afraid Sonny's owner will miss about an hour of the auction.

I know we set those dates up in advance and I also know it's hard to reschedule, it's just that something I literally can't reschedule got into my Sunday program a few days ago, sorry... I also realize that if we're not able to all agree on another date, the original one remains and I've got only myself to blame, I'm just trying everything I can to come up with something here. Again, my apologies.
-
Why don't we start 1 hour earlier than the original start time?

Come on guys. We knew the draft dates two months in advance. We also knew it would take hours so it's hard to reschedule such a long event. And to do it just several days in advance is even harder. Especially with 12 people in different timezones.
Having sad that, next Saturday does not work for me. Sunday April 2nd does.
-
That's opening day right? With early games?

No, I haven't got that one. Schedule changed. Saturday draft is also fine (it's Sunday for me actually).

Unfortunately, Anaheim said earlier he's got another draft on that day :(

How about Saturday, March 25th?

I'm cool with both as well
-
2 hours later is fine for me. As long as it's not earlier.
-
i'm good with both options.
-
Then, I wouldn't need to stay up the whole night. Very cool for me.
-
Soooo... completely forgot to ask in a draft room... if you can't start earlier, would it be possible to draft 2 hours later next week? I guess we should be past the halfway point now, so we wouln't finish later than today, would it be cool for you guys? Pleeeease, I dont wanna miss it :/
-
Another Public Service Announcement for those who haven't yet fully read the rules: we all get a $400 budget to at least fill out a starting lineup consisting of 22 players. However, it's probably in your best interest to not fully spend your budget as in-season pickups will cost money too. How much to save during the auction then? That's of course for you to decide ;-) See y'all in a couple of hours!

For me it's not possible to do the draft earlier. Sorry.
-
I would be good with that, hopefully that's okay for the rest too. I'm guessing it's best for you to ask it again this Sunday, since not everyone is yet accustomed to checking the league board.
@Anaheim: Thanks for sharing the feedback, 6 hours is not bad at all! I'd be more than happy if we could do it within six.

Hey guys, really sorry to bother you with this, but I've got a little but of a problem with the second part of the draft (Sunday 26th). Do you think it would be possible to move the draft date to like 2 hours earlier? :( So it would be 17:00 in Europe, morning in the US and late night in Asia... I just found out I gotta go away for the evening, we're playing our first soccer match of the season on Sunday 26th, 21:00, and draft starts at 19, so I don't think I can manage that in time..sorry again
-
Hi, everyone. I had my first ottoneu draft a couple of hours ago, which took about 6 hours + several recessions. Only $1 worth players left. See you next week!
-
No kidding! All this time I thought it would be easy to prep as long as I'd start in time, and here we are, 10 days removed from the big day. It's getting tight up here!

Hi all, just thought I'd pop in and say hi! Everything seems to have gone through and I'm looking forward to my first Ottoneu season!

Guys, this afternoon I received a message from what used to be our newest owner that he would like to leave because of a new job. So I went out and quite possibly found us a new owner on the same day, it's still only a matter of confirming that the transaction has gone as planned. Will keep you posted, fingers crossed! Cheers
