Not sure I get the strategy of helping the first-place team if you hope to win. To each his own I guess.

Beachy available. Looking for a bat.

MI is tight this year. Beckham isn't good but just by virtue of playing 2B every day he is worth owning.

Picking up a scrub like Beckham should be all the confirmation you need that my team is destined for 2nd place (or worse)
-
Well for teams still thinking they are in it, it's a big gamble on how many points Kemp will produce this year. They're going to be beyond careful with bringing him back.

And I was surprised at how quiet the market for Kemp was.
-
I just couldn't see myself sticking around the race much longer if I didn't get another bat to help push through these injuries. Getting the trio of Yelich/Hamilton/Williams made me feel a little better long term, but they're all a ways off.

Durham Tobacconists's trading block has been updated!

Buying Stanton at peak and selling Kemp at nadir, but you do what you have to do when you're sliding. Big point infusion for Durham.

I like that trade. Well done. Makes sense for Durham, who can't afford to wait another month for Kemp. I actually like Stanton a bit better anyway. Syndicate snagged some extra goodies, including Skaggs
-
I absolutely hate giving up Kemp.
-
Big trade...

IMO some of the rookie / 2nd-year types are way overpriced for what they've achieved in the majors, but that's almost a good thing as it helps to insulate them from vote-off.

To me $55 is a ludicrous price to pay for a player, but if I'm sitting $20 under the cap, why not bring CarGo back for that, who cares.

That's the way I feel about Cano...yeah $42 is a lot, but that production at 2B is almost too valuable
-
What's interesting is that some of the "out of it" teams have such low total salaries, that they may not even care if they have overpriced stars heading into next year. If they're just stockpiling talent, then player salaries may be irrelevant.

I think June is the turning point for this league. Several teams still in it but big decisions will be made soon about going for it or not. Teams only have so many chips to trade, and those out of the race should reap the benefits.
-
Durham has been decimated by injuries but could come back in a hurry once those guys get healthy. Knight very much in the mix. Strikes carried by pitching but a woeful offense doesn't bode well...
-
Still really like Chiefs too, who is sandbagging IP quite a bit with guys like Halladay on the DL. No team has done a better job of getting production out of cheap pickups that WAR though. Some terrific values there.
-
Looking to move Peavy or McCarthy for hitting at any position. Two big-time points-per-dollar guys.

I've had a good amount of interest in Upton...not thrilled to trade him but if I do, may as well mske him publicly available

My pitching continues to outpace my offense. Looking for impact bat, willing to part with Beachy or Shields.

Realized that I'm only carrying $378 in salary, and am looking to add a star-level player, even if high-priced. Duda, Reddick, Castellanos all available.

anyone else having issues with the scoring not tracking properly. My offense should have about 50 points and it has 3 - seems it is only counting hits, not 2b, 3b, HR, BB, etc

As of June 1st the top 7 teams separated by 500 points or less. Can't recall what it was last year at this time, but seems like we have at least twice as many contenders in 2012. Still LOTS of baseball to play. Plus, injuries can change things quickly
-
Ready to get back into trade talks as well. Not sure what I need but I'm itching to tweak my roster. Still looks less than legit to me.

OK fellas, finally back in the states and ready to pay attention to baseball. Glad to see Craig and McCarthy were DL'ed and in my lineup for almost the exact extent of my trip.

Same goes for me with Halladay, Ellsbury and Markakis. This last week or so has been unreal in terms of injuries.
-
My offense is a disaster right now. I'll entertain offers for Kemp and Tulo since I can't really afford to wait their injuries out and slip further in the standings.
-
Middlebrooks to SS? Wow, that would be a great help. Good idea, BoSox...

Speaking of baseball, I caught at 140 lb Tarpon today in Florida...that was promptly eaten by a 12 ft hammerhead that snuck up on our boat!

Big night from WAR Horse. That's all it takes sometimes to get right back at the top of the standings

Uh, oh...Liriano "back" or just lucky?
-
The sparky anklebiter (A.K.A. Pedroia) gonna try to play through pain...Not sure I like that idea but the guy has heart.
-
Via Emma Span on Twitter - 'Fun Fact: I was at Melky Cabrera's MLB debut. "What's a Melky and where the fuck is Bernie Williams," my father asked me.'
-
For those of you asking, yes, Middlebrooks is in play in a potential trade for a MI. Getting lots of offers, so might as well make it public. First come, first serve...
-
Damn it Pedroia!
-
You were MI-desperate at 12:40...and now Pedroia is probably out for a month.
-
VERY willing to part with an OF to get a solid MI, to the point where I'd consider heavily overpaying. Let me know.
-
thanks Strikes, I could really, really use that $3

Chris Sale might be the skinniest pitcher I've seen in awhile, but his stuff (and delivery) is nasty. At least 10 of 15 K's on changeups
