(as did Lynn obviously)
-
Ichiro did win both
-
Keith Law starting the chatter about Trout for both ROY and MVP. Was Fred Lynn the last to do that? Didn't Ichiro win both?
-
I don't understand how he ever gives up a hit
-
Craig Kimbrel has a negative xFIP in June. I didn't realize that was mathematically possible.

Not sure who is in play on everyone's roster, but I am still in the hunt for a significant bat, and have some starting pitching I could move.

I deserve a 90-point swing in my favor between 1 and 3 p.m. eastern today. In fact I demand it.

CBS Sportsline has changes from its live scoring to when the official standings get updated in Football I know, it happens. I don't expect 90 points will be hte difference between 1st and 3rd place on the last day of the season
-
A random 90 point swing on the last day of the season could be the difference between 1st and 3rd place...
-
haha, right!
-
The site is mad glitched, which is annoying in a $10/head league.

I don't think it's so much to ask that we be able to have confidence in how the points are calculated... since that's the most important part of how the game works.
-
cross-post, yes, exactly.

The reason the fluctuating standings are a concern is that it suggests that the standings are *wrong* for large portions of each day, which sort of drains confidence that they are ever correct at any given moment.

while it's easy to do the math for how many points a player has generated to this point, but not feasible to check their *actual* production for a team (taking lineups, trades, etc. into consideration), let alone ALL the players on ALL teams.
-
and IMO, the issue with the changing isn't so much that it affects the standings/strategies on a specific day, as it demonstrates clear flaws in the system and *we don't know* if things are compiled correctly over the course of the season.

9:03 - 7919.8, 7845.0, 7776.9
-
8:30 AM 7919.3 vs 7840.4 vs 7773.9. Curious how much they move.
-
the top 6 teams haven't changed in 2 months. The top 3 in weeks. The biggest variable right now is the IPs
-
everyone knows they change. Nobody's strategy is changing based on 90 point changes today is it?
-
"change a bit". I gained 90 points on that change today. Only reason I'm even caught up tonight.
-
haven't we established beyond any doubt that the stats update and change a bit the next day when stats run a couple times? is this still surprising?
-
Jed, I'm going to post my end of day points first thing tomorrow morning to the message board to see if they change during the day.
-
Terrible news for Beachy. He was rolling.
-
Beachy is available for anyone willing to wait on him. Need pitching and/or outfielders.
-
it is official...tommy john for beachy. damn.
-
21 HR hit today already in less than 4 games played. Wow.

At least you didn't start Hanson. That guy gave me fits last year.

Between 2 SP today: 9 IP, 8 HR (Reason #1 why I'm in the cellar of teams that haven't packed it in yet this year...)

Excited to start Hughes today, as he has been great recently. Promptly gives up 4 HRs. I make good life choices as well as fantasy ones. Stupid game.
-
He's given up quite a few pieces that could help for the future, but he was deep enough that I don't think it really hurt long-term.

He's done a good job of holding on to those pieces that will help for the future though...

Lost in the shuffle of the last two weeks: Durham has fallen down the standings quite a bit. Still a strong team. Knight & Chiefs still very much in at as well. As we've seen, things can change in just a few days
-
Another day with no pitcher starts for me, so I imagine my lead will shrink even further over the next 12-14 hours.

Really surprised no one else bid on Miley. That was a solid pickup by WAR Horse. Should be a nice $6 4th or 5th SP for your staff next season.
-
I just landed in Atlanta. When I left his morning I was down by 150. Now I'm down by 60. Wow.

I swear to god Trey just gained like 90 points in the standings. I mean a HUGE shift.

you can specify just the standing to check by copying the main page's source code from "h3" standings to "/table" (the quotes will actually be triangle brackets)
-
haha, apparently typing html in here screws it up. Anyone interested in the mysterious changes can track them with this tool: http://www.cmcode.co.uk/webmon/

Mike Trout is ridiculous
-
The whole "Oh he will TOTALLY be a starter... At some point!" thing is kind of played.
-
Bammo! $13 is a lot for any reliever next year.
