Analysis: Irvin retired the first 10 batters he faced and was working on a no-hitter until Atlanta finally got to him for consecutive doubles in the sixth inning. The right-hander emerged with his first quality start since Aug. 13, which was also the date of his most recent win prior to Wednesday. Irvin had been struggling prior to this excellent outing, as he had surrendered 13 runs across 9.2 frames in his previous two starts. He's fallen off in the second half after a strong beginning to the campaign, but he still has 10 wins and a tolerable 4.19 ERA overall.
