John Hook is the guy to trade with , his beers are so dank and fresh like liquid sod
-
The Furious is so good I sent two

I am most proud that I owe no one on this earth, nor does anyone have to hound me for money for things like entry fees . Like Big Enos Burnett, my word is gold

I'd try the nitro stout first , its an oh my beer https://www.3sheepsbrewing.com/beer/view/cashmere-hammer

Fred, your package has arrived! Thanks! Dustin May’s loss was my gain. I’m really looking forward to the Furious but I’m sure it will all be great. It’s all going into the chiller now to settle down from its long trip.

Hmm....the same gm made 8 prospect nominations between 11:13 and 11:18 cst am, which is lunch hour on east coast. Seeing as he is locked into 3rd , it must be Henry

Hey Brew, I’m wondering who you think are the top 5 guys—because I can think of about 10 who I think of as “obviously top 5 guys” (Soto, Trout, Acuña, Betts, Vlad, Tatis, Harper, TTurner, Devers, J Ramirez…so I don’t even get to Ohtani or Semien or Olson or Freeman or any Ps, and Mullins is out scoring all these guys x Vlad, Harper, Soto, and Semien)? (And okay, I just included Devers to annoy you…and remind you that Henry didn’t just start fleecing you *this* year.)

Cross checking where Trout, Blackman, Riley, and Bregman ended up, I found the following:
1. Traded MIKE TROUT and Aaron Judge for Rafael Devers, Gleybar Torres, Bobby Dalbec, Louis Campusano, and Akil Baddoo (kept Devers, traded Torres, cut Dalbec, cut Baddoo, cut Campusano)
2. Cut CHARLES BLACKMON at $33 (later resigned him at $23)
3. Traded AUSTIN RILEY, Joely Rodriguez, and Luke Weaver for Trey Mancini, Kyle Lewis, and Jose Miranda
4. Kept ALEX BREGMAN

Henry you moved up the rankings this year in my eyes for savy trading, upper tier.

It would have been a major coup for you to have aquired 2 of the games top 5 players and 3 of the top 10 contracts and leave me with only one keeper in Riley . Would have put me in the long game saga rebuild again which is horrible. I dont mind a one year tweak retool, but 3 to 4 year rebuild i never wish to go through again. Was humiation enough trading two Rileys for one Mckinstry .

I was ready to offer more warm bodies to that trade offer. I think it was after Lou Bob looked done for most of the season and before Trout was injured.

If you are bored, and or pretty much locked into your finishing place, its fun to go back to look at trades you rejected this year . Some of the real stinkers fermented and look even worse now . Henry wins dubious honor offering me Trout, Blackman ,Riley, and Bregman for Tatis ,Guerrero , and Robert. Offer was made on May 15th , so I assume it was a next year for this year offer...but still wow. Also that's when Robert tore his hip and no one knew he would come back so soon and hit .350.

I had Aquino the year he went off for 8 weeks like Schwin

Hopefully the Cubs can keep this ridiculous game close enough that another Schwindel home run could still matter. Looking like it’ll have to be a slam though.

Speaking of amazing out-of-nowhere seasons, Schwindel homered again today, and now has gone 30 consecutive ABs without striking out. He’s averaging a hilarious 8.5ppg. I don’t know how he’s doing it, but it continues.
-
Perez HR today, what a season he's having
-
Will be difficult to catch both Abreu and Perez for RBI. Only saving grace is white sox may rest Abreu while Blue Jays are in a dogfight . Also stats for any game 163 , if it comes to that, do count.
-
Triple Crown Watch ; Where he stands
• Batting average: .317, first in AL
• Home runs: 45, first in AL (one ahead of Shohei Ohtani and Salvador Perez)
• RBIs: 103, tied for third in AL (seven behind Salvador Perez)

It might be too quick-and-simple an approach, but by total points so far this year the #36 MI is JP Crawford (565 points); Straw is 37 (551). The #60 OF is Grichuk (501) and 61 is Happ (494). That’s actually closer than I thought it was.

I never think of that dude as a 2B (so, like Mookie I guess). I’m surprised they’re so close in age. I still think I’d take Mookie’s upside in points. How do you use Ketel? When healthy he was always an OF for me; same with Riley. You’re probably right that it’s just my roster construction…but replacement level seems higher in the IF.
BatGPT on

Well the other Dodger non-2b that qualifies, Turner, is the only person you could theoretically place near him. And yeah, I’d say in a vacuum you definitely want to play him at 2b, but team construction could dictate otherwise
-
Mookie starting at 2B today. If my count is right (and it might not be—I couldn’t count to 5 to get Hill’s start @Marlins!) that’s 5, which gives him 2B eligible thru next season. Discussion questions: (1) he’s pretty clearly the #1 2B then, right? Is there anyone you’d take ahead of him? And (2) even so, would you expect to use him there, or is 2B/MI deep enough that he’d be more valuable in the OF? (And yes, I’m distracting myself from my teams declining fortunes by thinking @ 2022.)

Damn it Brew that better not drive up the price I have to pay for Volpe (once/if I can ever spend on prospects for my 23-24 rebuild). And Bass…that 9th inning was awful and did take some of the shine off Fred’s cycle. I wonder if Ian A could close the rest of the year? The rotation seems…okay, a lot better than the bullpen.

Mlb.com midseason prospect ratings just came out. I realize there are many other lists that most in here prefer, all the same ,this is decent barometer .

Will Smith and Josh Tomlin almost overshadowed Freeman in the same game. Woof, the Braves need a different 9th inning option.
-
It is pretty hard to believe Muncy or Freeman could be over shadowed last night, but then there is Ohtani .

Agree with the 1st 4 words (it’s 2021 Fred)…although Conforto was useful yesterday that was pretty unusual; I’d rather have Castillo and the injured Lamet back. Though if someone would just start an auction for Greinke I might change my mind.
