It’s still a few months til the season starts. Be pretty un-Braves-like (and pretty disappointing for a team that wants to win another WS) to have their worst defensive player also be their worst offensive player. Good luck with Dansby—hope it works out better for the Cubs than the last time they signed an ex-Brave (though Jay-Hey wasn’t straight from the Braves).

Swanson a Cub, Grissom primary SS , Arcia utility if

Lol. The theatre director at my son's high school has the same last name. Distant relative? That's all I had.

Some fantasy expert I presume ? Probably a baseball nerd, the thinnest kid at fat camp
-
I assume some of you guys know who Phil Dussault is? Apparently I am in a NFBC league with him. Weird.
-
Now*
-
Cubs fans think they get Correa now. Sorely mistaken, will bow take 8 or 9 years to get him and Cubbies are fresh off being saddled with Hayward ( still paying one more year ) . I predict Samson to Cardinals, and Correa to Giants.
-
Wow the Padres mean business
-
Well at least the Bosox signed somebody. Will be interesting if this means that Houck is converted into a starter.

Red Sox look like the Ottoneu manager who comes out of the draft auction with $150 unspent.

Cubs are losing Contrares . only Bogarts or Correa would satisfy
-
No, he's joc Pederson 2.0
-
Is Bellinger going to satisfy you?
-
I'm sure Henry feels likewise
-
Nothing more frustrating than when your home town team didnt make playoffs, have lots of resources and don't get any of the impact free agents . Hope the Cubs get off their asses and sign Correa and Rendon both. That still only makes them 80 win team, but headed upwards at least . signing middle rp doesn't move the needle
-
NGB was funny how he tried to game the system with add drops budgets etc
-
I am up for some strat-o, and I bet we could get NGB too.
-
Philly is literally and geographicly d.c. north now .
-
Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Phillies and free agent shortstop Trea Turner are in agreement on an 11-year, $300 million contract.
-
I would say Degrom.signing is some meat on the bone
-
Henry kicked my ass, the master of the big inning (consecutive rolls on his card )
-
Its 19.99 for two seasons of play. If you recall you pick your park then we auction draft. As pat found out ballpark effects are huge
-
I believe each season takes four weeks to complete of daily play of 6 games per night
-
Mikey would get Joe , joes son, nzncy etc..I could send out the invites
-
Mikey and myself are thinking about starting up Strato league again to bridge the gap to throwback day. Last time we had Henry, Schmeggs Mikey, Pat, Hook and myself from here as well as six others .if you recsall you get two seasons with the purchase , so 2021 season regular and unabridged version would be natural choices
-
I'm not optimistic , but hopefully there is some meat on the bone at this years Winter Meetings . Last several years it has been.mostly middle relief, platoon OF, retreds returning from Asia, and former big names ( like bellinger) getting a one year deal. Would be nice if some players of significance ( like trea turner ) would get signed and sone big trades made
-
Geez I owned Harper in all three leagues I'm in at or near 60$ in each.
-
I was going to keep Harper in both leagues , wonder how much he will go for at auction now . Have to think a rebuilder will go up to 40$ maybe
-
I’d like to trade some prospects for expensive bats. Make me some offers!
-
In 2018 he missed a couple months after having a bone broken by a HBP. An oblique strain in 2019. Neither are reasons to thing “injury prone” (repeated oblique strains, maybe). It seemed there was a lot of “too big to play baseball” nonsense—which we should be way past by now.

Judge being injury-likely was a really common take in his early years. 2018 & 2019 seemed to be good evidence. But last two years he's been a horse. The iron giraffe.

btw, Hoskins has 11.5 fWAR since 2017. He’d be tied with Brett Gardner and Mitch Haniger at 32nd on this list. Was he really in our discussion with Judge and Belly (12th)?

Another way to look at it: the top-10 guys on this list are Judge, Betts, Trout, Soto, Yelich, Springer, Harper, Marte, Acuña, and Bryant. Would you really be surprised if Judge played in more games next year than say 5 of these guys? I guess I expect Betts, Soto, and (I hope) Acuña to play more games than Judge. Maybe Harper if his recovery goes well but he’ll just be DHing.

Here’s a quiz for you Brew: think of the 20 best OF by total fWAR since 2017 (Judge’s first full season). Judge is first on this list in fWAR—where do you think he is in games played? Do you think he’s in the top 10 or the bottom 10 of these guys in games played? Maybe it’s not fair to include Acuña and Soto so let’s replace them with the next 2 OFs—now where’s Judge?

Maybe a total games appeared bet would be easier.
-
Judge does not have a baseball body, same as Stanton. This past year IMO will be his high water mark for plate appearences . I'd be willing to set an over under bet on his at bats for next year a little closer to the season .
-
Full circuit 5 years ago: 3 year trade ignites much discussion about the future relative value of Rhys Hoskings, Judge, and Bellinger.
Full Circuit today: Judge’s 62nd home-run ball goes up for auction and Bellinger is released.

Here is the Dave hill obit for the four of you that knew him, even mentions his passion for fantasy sports : https://www.kahlemoore.com/obituary/David-Hill

I joined Henry and Mikey's league as well, and already have had three trade offers
-
CEASE got runner up for Cy Young
-
Nice pick up of Bieber for Gray and Ward over there Mikey
-
i looked at that Mikey, the available team wasnt half bad, and this league is full of mizers and thieves , very few fair offers
-
I joined Henry’s other league and have already made five trades. I think maybe we’ve gotten a little complacent here…
-
He didn't care for Eric or Nick so much
-
yeah, that is sad news. i definitely enjoyed interacting with him. always good for a laugh
thats 3 people now that we've lost from that league now. AARIP, indeed
-
Wow that’s sad. I enjoyed playing with him in AARIP
-
He also enjoyed playing with and especially against Charles in H2H

John, Kevin, Brent.....Dave Hill died of a heart attack on Saturday at age 55. He liked you guys very much. His personality was very much like Brent, happy go lucky, got along with everyone . He was the original Big Lummox.
