You "got yelled at" because you stated a grandiose procedure you were going to follow to make deals... to "sell off" in MID JUNE, in the thick of the race... and then... didn't follow thru with it.
-
Laser Showalter's trade block has been updated!
-
Votto and Gonzalez both keepers, so they are more expensive than Kershaw and Heyward.
-
For full disclosure so I don't get yelled at again (although I probably will anyway) - close to dealing Joey Votto and Alex Chi-Chi Gonzales. Targeting underpriced top players - not prospects, unless it's a Correa or similar.
-
I don't account for arb $ in a deal - and nobody should. No matter what everyone is going to get $20-30 assigned to them. If Scherzer doesn't get those dollars, Bryant or Springer, or Syndegaard, or Puig or Cole would. Adding Scherzer doesn't give me any extra arb dollars, it just may change who gets them. Considering arb dollars in a deal doesn't make any sense - that's the biggest problem I have with some of the criticism so far. I'm getting $30+ in arb anyway with my roster...
-
Yea, I added Bumgarner for Corbin and Polanco, two guys I'm not really high on. If you want to look at this as Kershaw, Corbin, Polanco, and Heyward for Scherzer, that's fine by me.
-
Didn't you guys just swap Bumgarner? If so, you can basically just add those trades together. Either way, the trade makes sense for both teams.
-
I don't think it's a collusion level trade, but if you think Scherzer is going to target $30 in arb, then lololol.
-
Cruz - you have 0 trade offers to my team... ever.
-
Go ahead and throw $30 on Scherzer and leave the rest of my roster untouched... couldn't ask for better outcome. Kershaw and MadBum and esp Heyward aren't getting arb $.
-
Does anyone in this league understand how arbitration works? That's the dumbest argument I've ever heard. People honestly laugh at you guys for those comments.
-
Cruz - you're an idiot. Thanks for the dumb comments and all the offers you sent.
-
Scherzer going to cost you your left nut next year. I could care less though. GJ Laser for making the move.
-
Just a dumb shit move on your part Knights. I'm glad he took advantage of you.
-
You specifically - the last time you offered a trade was January 31st - if you aren't happy about this deal, maybe you should've thought about making your own attempt to acquire them.
-
Sick and tired of people making ZERO attempt to acquire these guys, or sending bullshit offers of some prospect at the bottom of a teams top 10 for these guys, then getting pissed when a deal happens.
-
People just don't give away great contracts without a huge jump in current year points. Laser actually rejected that deal the first time I offered without Heyward. Scherzer at $24 is one of the best contracts in Ottoneu - Kershaw alone would be laughed at. Kershaw plus Bumgarner I thought was fair. Most leagues Heyward is being cut - was easy for me to throw him in and get it done.
-
I knew this was coming. I've been clear about my intentions - I want great 2016 contracts. I've had just two bad offers so far. I've made offers to about half the league for players I wanted, all were rejected without counter. Yes, I understand arbitration... maybe you don't. Every team gets $20-30 usually in arb dollars... which players get those dollars usually not relevant. If Scherzer gets those dollars, Bryant and others won't be. Huge win for me.
-
That trade stinks of collusion. I understand the value of Scherzer at $24 but WTF. How is that getting blown away?Knights literally wrote that every offer would be put up on the message board 4-6 hours before accepting it. Getting two equally or more talented pitchers and Heyward plus close to a hundy for Scherzer is closer to getting blown than blown away. Does Knights not know about arbitration? Scherzer ain't gonna be that much cheaper than Bumgarner next season, yet he gives up Kershaw....
-
I prefer negotiations to be on slack - @mdugent.
-
Hi all. I've decided that despite my competitive p/ip and points per game scores, I am likely too far behind to compete this year. With that in mind, I am officially selling. Every high-priced contract will go to best bidder. Better contracts may be moved if the return will be better for me in 2016 than what I am giving away. I'll give 4-6 hours notice up here before any player gets moved in most cases, unless I get blown away by an offer.

Let's try this again... a little more calm and subdued this time...
Block- Evan Gattis
1 game away, start or appear to gain OF eligibility
After a painfully slow April, and entering May with a NEG point total, Gattis has cranked it up this past month, in the middle of the potent Houston offense.
NEED- "value", talent... MI, OF, SP, RP...
-
It's officially callup season, very exciting. I can barely hold back my disdain for Dillon Gee and Jonathan Niese.
-
Lol.. No doubt... I'm a wreck... On a manic, fantasy baseball trading frenzy... I'm losing it
-
Hard to blame us for thinking you were on tilt after that post this morning.
-
Betances is the leading FPTS pure RP this season so far... 10.2 P/IP... perspective
-
One more... 11.33... anyone know what 11.33 indicates? That's his P/IP for 2014 (and we just established he's the same guy, unless you beleive the Pads are incapable of giving him 3r leads for rest of the season)... 11.33... there isn't more then a handful of SP in the LEAGUE giving you HALF that value...the leading FPTS SP right now, Keuchel is at 5.99...
-
Another key indicator to go along with his sustained velo to indicate his "stuff" is the same, is that his swinging strike is 18.2%, which is 2% ahead of career avg and again, highest since 2012... He's the same guy... He needs some more consistent opportunity from his new team, and now that he's settled, I can't see any reasonable argument to suggest the results are expected to be any different then they've been throughout his historic career... He's available...but re-asses your perspective
-
Lets take a look "inside the numbers"... K rate flat (down a hair), BB flat (also down a hair)... velocity is fine, actually up over 2014 by 1/2MPH... Yes, LD rate up, but hard contact is down... the major rub, other then two bad pitches, both leaving the park for HR... is his BABIP is .370 this year, the next highest since 2011 was .263... another 100+ of BABIP will take its toil... but when its not the result of increased contact, its simply "bad luck"... I admit it, I jinxed him
-
OK... i can understand why I gave the impression I was willing to dump Kimbrel for nothing... I didn't mean that, just that I was annoyed with the results... that said, the process getting to the results is no different then any other year in his career, and no reason to think he'll be any less then he's always been, from here on out... opportunity is the primary difference this year, compared to his career.. after a few shaky weeks to start in San Diego
-
Kimbrel on the block... that SOB... fuckin flawless for a career, I get him and he shits his pants every other game... F him
