Great job on the reverse jinx Choo!!! I'm good with the draft date, but any chance we can push that start a bit, to like 8 EST? I'd appreciate the extra buffer to get settled, but understand if it's a bit late for those on the East Coast.
-
All it took was me rescheduling our auction time for there to be a deal. Baseball is back! With that I have moved the auction time back to Sunday, March 20, 2022 4:00 PM PDT 7:00 eastern. I think CP is right, that time worked for everyone so let's stick with it.
-
I feel like with this news keeping it the same me be easiest because we all can make it. I have several leagues taking this wait and see approach and am worried there all going to be trying to schedule the same day/weekend.
-
Looks like we may need yet another move if the reported "deal" is ratified.
-
No baseball until at least April 14th so I have moved the auction to Sunday April 10th at 1 pacific, 4 eastern. Let me/the league know if this does not work and we can work to find a time that works for all knowing that we may need to do this dance again depending on how long the lock out lasts.
-
Well the news coming from the lockout is not good boys. I think it is best to push the auction back to avoid what we did last year. I will attempt to reschedule the auction for 1-2 weeks from when the season will actually start. Not sure when that will be but we can adjust accordingly. Let's hope this thing gets started sooner rather than later.
-
Titanic, I’ll save you a spot by the pool.
-
We were finally going to make a ST trip this year and go see some games in AZ. Glad we didn’t book anything. Just got the email from the Reds about my Opening Day tickets, I can ask for a refund or they will automatically be good for the first home game of the season. Hopefully the owners figure it out and start actually negotiating.
-
Today is sad day for us all. I’ll be in Arizona in 3 weeks. It looks like hiking, sitting by the pool kind of vacation. Thanks, MLB.
-
Friendly reminder - Keeper Deadline ends today Tuesday, February 15 2022 @ 11:59 PM EST. Make sure to make your cuts to get at or below 40 roster spots and at or below $400.
-
Looks like the keeper deadline has been changed - see the banner at the top of the homepage - Keeper Deadline: Tuesday, February 15, 2022 11:59 PM EST. This does not change the renewal deadline. So, the next order of business is for everyone to pay $20 to renew their team by the end of January. Please take care of business so you don't lose your team, thanks.
-
Happy New Year! May the season start on time.
-
Auction time now 4pm pacific, 7pm eastern on Sunday the 20th. Let me know if we need to adjust further.
-
Choo, I had another league that had set Saturday as the draft time the same as ours. I asked the commish if we could move it and the league landed on sunday ar 4pm. Was going to see if maybe we could do 7pm Sunday? Just to avoid overlap. If that is a no go, don't worry about it, I'll make it happen. Thanks Choo

We have an owner that has a conflict on the proposed auction day so I am moving the auction to Sunday the 20th. Hopefully the lockout ends and we get a full season in. If not the auction date may need to be adjusted again. Let me/the group know if you have a conflict with Sunday the 20th. Thanks.
-
A big thank you for all you completing arbitration. Happy trading and good luck in 2022. The keeper/cut/trade deadline for all penalty free cuts in Jan. 31st. You all need to re-up your team (pay $20) by Jan. 31st. as well. Also, the auction is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, 2022 3:00 PM PDT.
-
Friendly reminder, Arbitration ends Sunday, November 14th. 6 of the 12 teams have submitted so we're halfway home.
-
Arbitration is now open. Deadline to complete is Nov. 14th.
-
Housekeeping-Nate is the new owner for Adapt, welcome Nate. Arbitration starts this Friday. The auction is set for Sat. March 19th at 3pm pacific/6 eastern-Regular season starts on Thurs. March 31st. Let me know if you have any issues with this date/time. I also changed the trade review/veto window to 24 hours. If this causes any issues during the season we can discuss and switch back. Take care of league business in the “offseason”, enjoy the MLB playoffs, and good luck to all in 2022.
-
It doesn’t matter too much to me. As a parent to 3 small children, I do like having more time to make decisions regarding fantasy, although reviewing a trade isn’t very high on that list. I have vetoed several trades in the past 3 years as I have felt they upset the competitive balance of helping both teams in some way. I do believe that most of our league’s trades are fair. I’m happy to go along with the majority here.
-
I agree with Strugglers- I'm fine with trying it for 2022 and keeping it permanent if it is not abused.
-
I feel like there are so few vetos, we may as well cut the time in. We’ve had this league for 10yrs now, can probably count on one hand the trades that even sparked debate and question. Might look at it and be, “I wouldn’t have done that, but I suppose I can see why he did” and then move on. Rarely have I ever even taken the time to veto something. Can always switch it back in 2023 if it gets abused.
-
I think we all value players differently but we are all managing our teams to maximize our chance to be successful so if two owners have put in the work to find a mutually agreeable deal then I am not going to veto and get in the way of that hard earned reward as by definition they both believe they are making their team better by making the deal or else they wouldn’t do it, so let’s let that deal get processed as quickly as possible so they both can receive the benefits from their work.
-
And if that is the case where I and the league thinks that an owner is not acting in their best interest and manipulating the league in some way then harsher action than just a trade veto maybe in order. We don’t have prizes in this league so the lack of $$ changing hands lessens the potential for funny business.
-
I think we have to trust each other that we are trading because we feel we are going to make our team better either now or in the long run – always acting in our own best interest. I think long and hard before I veto a trade (I think I have vetoed one trade in the history of the Jackaolpe Inv.) A trade would have to be extremely lopsided where I am questioning the owner’s benefit/motivation for the trade before I would even consider a veto.
-
Additional trade and veto thoughts. The beauty of trading is that owners value players differently. Really if we all valued players the same there would be very few trades because there would be a clear winner and loser in the trade. There can be a lot of things that goes into the trading thought process (win vs. rebuild mode, player age, current value, future value, growth potential, decline phase, pitcher vs. hitter, position scarcity, etc.).
-
So, let’s get a discussion going and see where it leads.
-
Most times it takes a lot of counter offers back and forth before two owners find a deal that is acceptable to both teams. That accepted trade could have taken hours, days, and sometimes maybe even months or years to get to the accepted state. I think once all of that work is done the rest of the league shouldn’t hold up the trade for 48 hours. Maybe an extra 24 hour wait isn’t a big deal to you guys but although a minor change I think it would be a good one to implement.
-
I have been contemplating a change that would allow trades to be processed in 24 hours vs. the current 48 hour timeline, so I would like to open it up to the league and get a discussion going around this topic. Assuming we have a competitive league with independent owners all managing their team to maximize their success then I don’t know why we need an “extended” veto window with trades. An accepted trade at times can be a very difficult thing to make happen.
-
Congrats Choo! For a very brief moment on Saturday I thought I could finish on top, but your team stepped up big time. Well done.
Thanks all for making my first Otto season an enjoyable one. Definitely did not expect the rebuild to progress as quickly as it did, but I'm looking forward to proving it wasn't a fluke!
-
I don't remember another year that was this hard just to field a complete lineup everyday. Injuries were crazy. Hopefully 2021 is not the new normal.
-
Jeet’s gonna be a force to be reckoned with if he keeps this up. Great season everyone, we all had mass injuries and such a bizarre coming out of 2020. Looking forward to next year.
-
Congrats to all for a great/frustrating/roller-coaster season. Choo, Jeets, and Zod: great job waiting in the wings and watching me fade. I'm up for the challenge of toppling you next year!
-
Yes Jeet had me very worried - he got very hot the last couple of weeks. Last to 2nd in one year was a hell of a run. Nice work Jeet and happy to have you on board.
-
TOTALLY a compliment! Definitely was a challenging season as my pitching and OF can attest. I'm definitely back next year to keep trying to climb the ladder. Also, GREAT season to Jeet, that was a hell of a rebuild!
-
I do regret that I couldn’t reunite with my on again off again crush Jack Flaherty, but to all including Titanic and his Reds and as a Cub fan I know better than most…….there’s always next year! Good luck to you all in 2022. If you don’t plan on returning next year please let me know ASAP so I can work on filling your spot to keep the league full.
-
Thanks Zod ….. I think! This was a very challenging year. Thank god the season ending when it did, my team was leaking some serious oil - I don’t think I could have hung on too much longer. Adapt is not returning next year but I think we have a replacement lined up. Arb will start soon. Enjoy the MLB playoffs all and thanks for a great season.
-
Congrats Choo- I hope the Devil's balls weren't too hard to gargle :)… Seriously though, great win and a fun season all around!
-
Reds playoff tickets purchased. Doubt I’ll actually get to use them! But if we do have a home playoff game, Wife and I will be there. Totally expect the Cards to get the WC2 or us to get smoked by LA/SF in the WC game and never see a game here.
-
I hope they make it!
-
Just got the email about buying Reds postseason tickets. It’s happening!
-
Obviously I'm not going to win the title this year, so the fire sale is on. I've updated my Trade Block with who is available. Give me your best offers. It's time to build for the future.
-
12 players injured, and you're still within striking distance! No way my team could absorb that kind of luck.
-
So many injuries.....I can field a WS caliber team off my IL guys.
-
Holy shit, I actually just snorted when I saw Choo's Trade Block update! Give that man his Jack Jack!
-
Love this!!!! Lol
-
What’s the price? I probably want him!!!
-
Flaherty is available, Zod, for the right price.
-
Is ANYONE going to address Choo's equal love and hatred for Flaherty???
-
Hey so I must have accidentally picked up this Joe Ross guy... If anyone wants him for an expired gallon of milk just let me know.
