Ok Keaton (greenduck10) is in. Good luck greenduck!!
-
Not that I have a horse in this race, but if he's the new owner of my team and making his ottoneu debut... That makes me real happy! GL guys!

Love it Choo. When I joined last year, my then 13-year old son helped me with the name 'El Encanto' but that's as much engagement as I got. Get him hooked. Way better than a video game!

I have someone that is looking to join Ottoneu, my son Keaton. He is 12 and has played in yahoo/ESPN leagues, some public and some with his school buddies. Does anyone have an objection to him joining this league? He is ready to make the jump to Ottoneu. Before I bring him in, I want to make sure everyone is cool with it.
-
Friendly reminder, arbitration ends next Monday 11/14. If you haven't done so already please log in and complete the arbitration process before the deadline, thanks.
-
Wow sorry to see you go CP. I think you have built a very good team that is going to compete for a championship next year. Does anyone know someone that might be interested in getting into this league/Ottoneu. If so please let me know so we can get CP's team filled with a new owner.
-
Congratulations Choo, that was a hell of a season! Unfortunately, I will not be returning next season. Life's getting more hectic for me and I need to cut back on my ottoneu addiction. Good luck to all, its been a fun several years!
-
A big thanks to Aaron Judge for carrying me this season. I think the league is healthy and very competitive. As always, let me know if you don't plan to return in 2023. Now I believe is the best time to get a new owner in if needed but I hope you all are enjoying the league and will be back. Arb is starting Oct. 15th. The offseason trading window opens after arbitration is completed and closes at the keeper deadline January 31st. Make moves to improve your team and have a great 2023 season
-
Congrats Choo, Ng and Billy for a fun race to the top! Looking forward to another active offseason.
-
Thanks for a great season, everyone. Congrats, Choo, on yet another impressive showing. Ng, Thanks for humbling me in the final week. I look forward to the off-season.
-
Titanic, Beard, I hear what you’re saying. Everyone should get a chance to trade for any player, not just one manager. That is the spirit of competition. I’ll make sure to stick to that mantra going forward.
-
I get that it doesn’t matter much if they’re traded, cut, etc in the offseason. But the spirit of the thing is that we all have a chance at every player…is we bid enough or offer enough in trade. But an agreement like this takes X off the board for everyone else for next year. There have certainly been some awful trades, this isn’t a terrible one. But the pre-agreed trade back is a little inappropriate. But, we don’t really ever veto trades in this league, they usually all make “some” sense.
-
The trade itself is fine. Trading expensive rentals that will probably be dropped is normal. The collusion part is entering into an agreement or sweetheart deal with another team to make a trade-back for less than market value. That's kind of what was implied by the comment. A trade is a stand alone transaction and shouldn't come with any contingencies. So Billy should be free to trade Bogey to the highest bidder in the off-season
-
Also not trying to ruffle any feathers here. If you all want us to kill the trade no worries. The comment was there so that you all won’t veto a trade of Bogey back to me mid-winter. Under my terms means I keep rights to Berrios and an desperately needed OF and will give Bean something else for Bogey. This is my first time seeing the mad dash to the finish and obviously I’ve traded a bunch of quality bats and a SP to the 3 leaders with an eye to the future. May the best team win!

Many of the trades that have happened over the last month have involved players that probably won’t be kept by their current owners: Betts, Trout, and probably Boegaarts. Does it matter whether they are cut in the winter or traded?
-
we don’t all have the same goals in a trade. Some managers are looking to future stars, some are trying to shed salary, some are trying to improve a specific position. To me, it’s not fair that many of the best players end up on a few teams. But it’s fair that we get to make trades to help our team. Encanto chose to accept this trade to help his team now and in the future. Me, I’m in “now” mode. Collusion means gaining an unfair market advantage. Is that true here?
-
Full disclosure: I communicated with Encanto that I was looking for a rental and that I would happily trade Boegaarts back to him this winter. If that doesn’t work for the league, I’d be happy to rescind the agreement. However, this league is a competition. We are all attempting to assemble players that will score us the most points. There have been many trades (in-season, off-season, and deadline deals) in this league that, in my opinion, have been far from evenly weighted. I remind myself that
-
I assumed it was a joke but maybe that is a bad assumption to make.
-
Agreed, I just didn’t want to be that guy.
-
Sorry to be that guy, but I think it should be pointed out that the comments in Billy/Encantos trade stating that he's trading Bogey as a loan and there's an agreement that he will be traded back on "his terms" borders dangerously close to the definition of collusion...
-
Hello gents. A couple guys from another league I'm in are trying to fire up a $100 Fangraphs Points league for next season. We're looking to recruit some interested/active owners and I thought I'd check here. Message me if you have interest. Cheers
-
Matt Carpenter is going to be a hell of a keeper but he just broke his foot and I'm in win now mode. So, anyone willing to trade me a keepable and healthy MI/OF for Carpenter I am interested. I may have some pitching that I can throw in too.

Did someone actually start an auction for a guy named “Cabbage”? You know that’s not his real name, right?
-
That's all-time savage!
-
5 HR given up today. Maybe Hunter Greene wasn’t quite ready for prime time.
-
Welcome back to the Brood, Mr. Blackmon!
-
Why did none of you M’s fans tell me that Fraley had Thor hair?
-
Auction today. Friendly reminder to respect the league and everyone’s time by making sure you nominate someone every time your turn is up. It can be a bid advantage not to nom late in the auction- just want to make sure we’re all playing it straight up. Enjoy the auction and good luck in 2022!
-
Looks like your Reds are tearing down like my A’s.
-
I know we have some M’s fans in here…should I be at all excited by Dunn Williamson and Fraley?
-
So why didn’t we reschedule the draft like 95 days ago if that’s all it took…..
-
Well done, Choo! My day just instantly got better.
-
Would prefer 7pm eastern or earlier start tine. My day starts at 2 am.
-
Fine with the later time here and THANK YOU CHOO, that was magical!
-
Great job on the reverse jinx Choo!!! I'm good with the draft date, but any chance we can push that start a bit, to like 8 EST? I'd appreciate the extra buffer to get settled, but understand if it's a bit late for those on the East Coast.
-
All it took was me rescheduling our auction time for there to be a deal. Baseball is back! With that I have moved the auction time back to Sunday, March 20, 2022 4:00 PM PDT 7:00 eastern. I think CP is right, that time worked for everyone so let's stick with it.
-
I feel like with this news keeping it the same me be easiest because we all can make it. I have several leagues taking this wait and see approach and am worried there all going to be trying to schedule the same day/weekend.
-
Looks like we may need yet another move if the reported "deal" is ratified.
-
No baseball until at least April 14th so I have moved the auction to Sunday April 10th at 1 pacific, 4 eastern. Let me/the league know if this does not work and we can work to find a time that works for all knowing that we may need to do this dance again depending on how long the lock out lasts.
-
Well the news coming from the lockout is not good boys. I think it is best to push the auction back to avoid what we did last year. I will attempt to reschedule the auction for 1-2 weeks from when the season will actually start. Not sure when that will be but we can adjust accordingly. Let's hope this thing gets started sooner rather than later.
-
Titanic, I’ll save you a spot by the pool.
-
We were finally going to make a ST trip this year and go see some games in AZ. Glad we didn’t book anything. Just got the email from the Reds about my Opening Day tickets, I can ask for a refund or they will automatically be good for the first home game of the season. Hopefully the owners figure it out and start actually negotiating.
-
Today is sad day for us all. I’ll be in Arizona in 3 weeks. It looks like hiking, sitting by the pool kind of vacation. Thanks, MLB.
-
Friendly reminder - Keeper Deadline ends today Tuesday, February 15 2022 @ 11:59 PM EST. Make sure to make your cuts to get at or below 40 roster spots and at or below $400.
-
Looks like the keeper deadline has been changed - see the banner at the top of the homepage - Keeper Deadline: Tuesday, February 15, 2022 11:59 PM EST. This does not change the renewal deadline. So, the next order of business is for everyone to pay $20 to renew their team by the end of January. Please take care of business so you don't lose your team, thanks.
-
Happy New Year! May the season start on time.
-
Auction time now 4pm pacific, 7pm eastern on Sunday the 20th. Let me know if we need to adjust further.
