It seems there is a consensus for 3/8. Please pick your preferred time in the Google Form https://forms.gle/85Gany8RMPWjT2qG6

3/8 is fine with me
-
Are we confirmed for 3/8? I have another league looking at that date.
-
Sounds like we are circling around Sunday 3/8 between 3PM and 6PM (Eastern.)

3/8 works for me. I can make anytime work, but mid-afternoon PST would be ideal
-
Please consider that I'm six hours ahead of EST. So starting a draft after 6pm EST is a grind for me
-
Afternoon or evening 3/8 is okay but will cost me political capital. in my marriage etc...

3/8 works for me as long as it’s after 2 pm central time. I could probably swing the morning of 3/15 if we’re looking to do a Sunday morning.
-
3/8 all day for me is fine
-
What I mean is, a decent night's sleep morning on the East Coast, 9AM draft time, is perfect for me because then I can wake up before my wife and children and draft at 6AM, and it's all done and out of the way by the time they need me to make breakfast or run errands. East Coasters get a leisurely Sunday morning, I get a draft that doesn't interfere with anything else I have going on. Ideal.

How about Sunday 3/8? For me - ideally early in the morning Pacific Time.

The only days I cannot do are 3/13 and 3/22
-
2/29 and 3/8 both work for me
-
Weekends for me, possibly Fridays. Looking at the schedules posted above, maybe Saturday 2/29 or Sunday 3/8? Not sure if Freaks days are preferred or exclusive.

Please pick your top three days of the week to conduct the auction. Once I have everyone's selections, I will take the top two days and put specific dates for us to vote on. I will send the date survey out Thursday. https://forms.gle/wCxiBBJVkE8Nmbqc6

Cannot do 3/13 or 3/22 for draft
-
3/22 is great for me, ideally early early morning Pacific time.

3/22 could be OK
-
Cannot do March 22
-
Please keep in mind that I'm in Europe.
Maybe we can set the draft start so that it is not too uncomfortable for me.
-
I am unavailable March 22 for the auction.
-
Cannot do March 13th for auction

Welcome! Thanks for joining.

Welcome Papifantasy. Thank you for picking up Hillbilly WAR Machine. We look forward to having you in the league. Please make sure to pay the dues for the team asap. You get one round of cuts to get your roster legal prior to the auction.
-
I went ahead and abandoned HWM as Cliff did not respond to my email. The new owner will be able to make cuts.
-
Can we draft in early March at the earliest this year? We normally like to get it over with early, but I wouldn't mind having more time to think on it. Opening day is Thurs 3/26, so we could draft as late as the weekend of 3/21 -22.

I let a friend know that the team might be available - he's a Braves fan who covets Acuna. But I've been trying to convince him to join us for years now to no avail, so chances are he'll pass yet again.

As he hasn't picked it up yet, if a new owner comes in, it's pretty easy. Rules state that any new owner gets one round of free cuts.
-
He was last active on Jan 11th - good sign. He let his team expire on Jan 31st - bad sign. I think it's pretty likely HWM is abandoning.

If HBM just spaced the deadline and still wants to play, how about he misses the draft and cuts players as he wishes afterwards? If he doesn't want to play, then we could have the Commish drop players as requested by his replacement. A one-time cut that must be determined within say 24 hours of taking over. I think that's fair. The consequence of missing the drop deadline is skipping the draft.

That is the way it works. Whoever takes over the team gets one free round of cuts
-
The cuts should be made by whoever takes over the team. Simply cutting the most expensive players doesn’t make sense. I’ve taken over teams before and had the ability to make those moves myself.
-
Maybe we can contact him and ask what happend. If he doesn't want to play anymore, we can look for a new owner. If he intends to continue to play, he can tell us why he missed the deadline. Then we can decide what to do
-
I would like to hear from Cliff before we decide. He's been in this league a long time.
-
Shouldn't we boot an inactive manager and let a new make their own cuts?
-
I think the fairest way to do it is take the ottoneu surplus calculator and make the cuts based upon the biggest negative surplus. How many cuts you make could be to either just make his roster legal or to eliminate all negative surplus. This is an objective way to do it that also sets up the team reasonably well.

My opinion is that the commissioner cuts his most expensive player until his roster is valid. So for his team, it would be Stanton, then Votto then Acuna.
-
How do we go about this?
-
Hillbilly is still over the cap. We need to determine as a league which players should be cut.
-
According to rule VII.e.ii
Commissioners have the right to remove players from teams that are over limits after the keeper deadline in order to allow them to paricipate in the Auction Draft. Commissioners should work with the other owners in the league and use their best discretion in making these types of roster moves.
-
Several teams still have illegal rosters. Cuts are due in 2.5 hours.
