Nice to see you end this part of the season on the up, Tyler.
-
When we return, there will be 80d left until the end of the season, so you need to be at 82g in order to have a chance to hit 162 for a position. Stephen, Luke and Jared appear to be short at 2B. Jared and Luke appear to be short at SS. Bruce and Jared appear to be short at MI. Jared appears to be short in OF. Paul appears to be short at UT. Pitching is too hard to determine, but JD, Luke, Jared and Stephan are substantially off pace in innings pitched.

Final OPL update for round 3: Larry moved up to 17 so is now officially in the knock out rounds. Tyler had a good day to move up to 43rd, but it was too late to matter. Larry moves into the next round which is a series of 2 week H2H matchups, with the winner advancing and the loser being eliminated. Larry has won a t-shirt at this point, and a win in the first match up wins $200 for our guy!
-
200 for Tyler and the last day before the all star break. Everyone can rest easy (not watch your line ups) for a few days at this traditional (but not mathematical) half way point in the season.
-
200 for Brandon!
-
OPL update (2d left): Larry remained 19th, and his lead dropped from 172 to 169, but with only 2d left his margin went from 57/d to 85/d. Larry is a lock to make it into the final 32 (and win an OPL t shirt). He will be in two week H2H knock out games starting after the all star break! Congratulations Larry!
-
Thanks for that share Larry. It is an interesting list!
-
I have four on the position players list. Each were a surprise to some extent as to how well they have done. Lane Thomas in particular. But especially given that the lefties have had to deal with neolithic lefty-lefty/righty-righty thinking by managers irrespective of their hitting numbers.
-
Interesting article on Fangraphs today on Ottoneu All Stars -- Players with most surplus value so far this season. Some surprises on the list. Link is here:https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/the-ottoneu-surplus-value-all-stars/
-
Huh, my team has 7 All Stars. That kind of surprised me.
-
OPL update (3d left): Larry dropped from 17th to 20th, but his lead increased from 165 to 172. With 3d left that increases his margin from 41/d to 57/d. Larry is very solid. Tyler moved up from 56th to 54th, but his deficit increased from 233 to 262, increasing the margin he needs to make from 58/d to 87/d. Tyler is officially out and will be dropped from the daily update.
-
OPL Update (4d left): Larry had a great day yesterday, moving up from 23rd to 17th! His lead increased from 160 to 165, and with 4d left his margin went from 32/d to 41/d. Tyler moved from 57th to 55th, and his deficit went from 251 to 233, but that is not enough as his margin went from 50/d to 58/d. Larry is pretty safe and Tyler is pretty out.
-
200 for Tyler yesterday!
-
OPL update (5d left before the cut): Larry had a very good day moving up from 28th to 23rd. His lead grew from 44 to 160! and his margin grew from 7.3/d to 32/d. He is now in very strong position. Tyler did what he needed to do, but stayed in 57th. He cut the lead from 302 to 251, and the margin remained the same at 50/d. He kept pace, but needs to continue to do so for the next 5 days, which is unlikely.
-
OPL update (6d to go): Larry had a tough day yesterday, dropping from 23 to 28. His lead dropped from 104 to 44, and his margin dropped from 14.8/d to 7.3/d. Larry has moved onto the bubble. Tyler had a typical day moving up from 58 to 57. He cut into the lead from 376 to 302 and cut into the margin from 53/d to 50/d. He has a steep hill to climb to even get to the bubble.
-
League update: 84g is one pace for 162 so the season is 52% complete. Bruce and Larry continue to run above 100/d for the last 30d, while Tyler, Stephen, Brandon, Bruce and Joe were all above 100/d last week. The top 3 hitters (Stephen, Larry, Stephan) and the top 3 pitchers (Larry, Tyler, Jared) remain unchanged. Joe passed Paul so the top 6 are now Larry, Bruce, Tyler, Stephen, Brandon, Joe). In the projected top 6 (Larry, Tyler, Stephen, Jared, Brandon, Luke) there is no change.
-
OPL update; With 7d to go, Larry moved up from 25 to 23. His lead dropped from 135 to 104, and his margin decreased from 15.0/d to 14.8/d. He is still looking good, but maybe has a little wobble in his gait. Tyler moved up from 63 to 58, and cut the lead from 377 to 376, but continues to lose on margin going from 41.9/d to 53.8/d. Too little, too late for Tyler. The cut occurs after the Sunday games so time is running out.
-
OPL update: 9d to go and Larry has dropped from 22 to 25 (the top 32 make the cut). but his lead has grown to 135, so his margin has increased from 11/d to 15/d. He is looking strong. Tyler has moved up from 74 to 63, and cut his into the lead from 485 to 377, but went from 40.5/d to 41.9/d...sort of staying even but still in need of serious movement.
-
OPL update: Larry has dropped from 20 to 22, but his lead over the cut line increased from 86 to 132, 6.1/d to 11/d. Larry is looking very solid to make it to the knock out round. Tyler, on the other hand, moved up to 74 from 75, and cut his deficit from 504 to 485, but is running out of time as he now needs 40.5/d, up from 36/d Monday. Larry is solid as a rock. Tyler is sinking like a rock.
-
Corbin Burnes? That is a big shed.
-
Right with you. My pitching is going to have to be throttled way back after the All Star break.
-
I am averaging over 1700 IP for season so 1500 IP season cap may make it hard for me to keep up this pace.
-
Larry crossed the 10K mark before the 50% point of the season!
-
At this point, 78g is on pace for 162 and the seaon is 48% complete. Bruce and Larry are over 100/d for the past 30d and the past 7d. Larry passed Stephan as a hitting leader (now Stephen, Larry, Stephan) while the pitching leaders, and top 6 are unchanged from last week. In projected leaders, Brandon has passed Luke (Larry, Tyler, Stephen, Jared, Brandon, Luke). Remember that if you want to play in the OPL next year, you must finish in the top 6 (Larry, Bruce, Tyler, Stephen, Brandon, Paul).
-
OPL update: With 14d to go, Larry dropped from 18th to 20th. His lead over the cut line dropped from 139 points to 86, and his margin dropped from 8.2/d to 6.1, but he still looks quite strong to make the cut. On the other hand, Tyler dropped from 74th to 75th, and dropped further behind in points from 464 to 504, and from 27.3/d to 36/d. It looks very bad for Tyler at this point....not only is he losing time, but he is also losing ground.
-
There must be some tie breaker, and that one is as good as any I suppose.
-
It is not about the rules as written, it is just absurd in principle. One might argue that it should be about allocatable funds, or the color of one's underwear on a Wednesday. Any auction is independent of societal position. We don't have that, but it could be created in a manner. A tie could place the player back in the pool for re-auctioning which would be a fairer approach and those who bid would know that their bids were insufficient. It would then better value that player in the market.
-
Bruce, Larry has it right. In the case of a tie, the lower team wins. You can check this on the rules tab at the top of the page. Since you are in 2nd, you will lose ties except for Larry.
-
Tie goes to team lower in the standings.
-
The auction process is weird. So, if someone matches but does not beat your bid, they win? In what universe?
-
OPL update: 17d to go and Larry jumped up from 23rd to 18th, and increased his margin over the cut line from 4.7 to 8.2/d. On the other hand, Tyler stayed at 74th but dropped from needing 22.4 to 27.3/d. It's not looking good for Tyler.
-
OPL update: 19d left and Larry has dropped from 21 to 23, with his margin dropping from 5.1 to 4.7/d. Tyler has moved up from 85th to 74th, but his need has gone from 21.4 to 22.4/d....so he is falling off the cut line.
-
OPL update: It was a tough week for both our teams. Larry dropped from 11th to 21st (32nd is the cut). His lead over the 32nd team dropped from 5.4/d to 5.1/d. He is still looking strong, but needs to get settled. Tyler dropped from 84th to 85th, but more importantly his need to get to 32nd increased from 9.5/d to 21.4/d. With 3 weeks to go before the cut to 32, Tyler needs a big comeback, starting this week with Alonso coming of the IL.
-
At this point, 72g is on pace for 162 so we have completed 44% of the season.
-
Weekly Update: Last week Bruce, Stephan and Larry were all above 700 points. Bruce and Larry are over 3000 for the last 30d. The top hitting teams are Stephen, Stephan and Larry (Stephan passed Larry last week). The top pitching teams are Larry, Tyler and Jared (no change). The top 6 teams are Larry, Bruce, Tyler, Stephen, Brandon and Paul (Paul knocked Joe out of 6th). The top 6 projected teams are Larry, Tyler, Stephen, Jared, Luke and Brandon (no change).
-
200 for Stephan!
-
Aaron Nola is on waivers!
-
OPL Update: Larry moved up to 11th from 12th last week and has a 5.4/d margin over 32nd (the cut line on 13 JUL). Tyler moved up to 81st from 84th and needs to gain 9.5/d to get to 32nd. With 32d left, Larry looks strong and Tyler is in trouble.
-
Two teams scored 700+ last week, Bruce with 957 and Larry with 799. Three teams scored 3000+ over the last 30d, Bruce with 3559, Larry with 3281 and Tyler with 3169. The top 6 teams remain unchanged (Larry, Bruce, Tyler, Stephen, Brandon, Joe). The top hitters are Stephen, Larry and Stephan. The top pitchers are Larry, Tyler and Jared. The top 6 projected teams are Larry, Tyler, Stephen, Jared, Luke and Brandon.
-
OPL update: The next cut is at the all-star break and you must be in the top 32 to make the cut. Following that the format is 2 week head to head knockouts. Larry is 12th today and Tyler is 84th.
-
Brief update today as this is BIO week. Two teams were +700 last week, Tyler & Bruce. The top hitters are Stephen, Larry and Stephan. The top pitchers are Larry, Tyler and Jared. The top 6 are unchanged and I am sorry but don't have time to update the projections this week.
-
Tyler makes the cut at 95th. Stephen just missed at 111th and is out. But… he finished in the top half of the top teams in ON! Well done Stephen. Larry leads going into Round 3.
-
2100ct. Tyler is 95th with a margin of 25.
-
At 1900 ct, Tyler is +43, Stephen is -200.
-
At 1700 CT, Tyler is down to 91st (39 point margin) and Stephen is 127th (210 point margin). We consider Stephen to be out, and Tyler is hanging on for dear life. My battery is dying so I will not provide another update until I get to my hotel.....althought truth be told, I am likely the only one who really cares about this. Congrats to Stephen for making it this far in the OPL!
-
On the final day of this OPL round with the first round of afternoon games final, Larry remains in 1st by 100+ points. Tyler is 88th with a 63 pt margin. Stephen is 126th and down 200 points.
-
OPL update with 1d left: Larry remains in 1st place. Tyler dropped from 82nd to 89th (with his only SP). His margin went up to 55/d from 48/d....but with no SP on the final day, it is going to be very close for Tyler to make the cut. Stephen dropped from 119th to 125th, and his need went from 79/d to 155/d. Apart from an amazing final day (he might have multiple SP?), Stephen is likely out.
-
OPL update with 2 days until the cut: Larry is a lock and repping our league well in 1st place overall. Tyler had a decent day and moved up to 82nd from 84th. More importantly, his margin went from +31/d to 48/d. His situation is looking better today but he is not clearly in. Stephen moved up to 119th, but he went from -53/d to -79/d. He really needs a strong day.
-
Jared has 36 at 2B, and 32 at MI. The top hitting teams are Larry, Stephen and Stephan. The top pitching teams are Larry, Jared and Tyler. The top 6 are Larry, Bruce, Tyler, Stephen, Brandon and Joe. The top 6 projected are Larry, Tyler (-7.6%), Jared (-9.7%), Stephen (-9.9%), Luke ( -10.8%), and Brandon (-14.9%). Larry has a pretty impressive lead!
-
Sorry to be late with the update today, but my grandson was here so he trumps the game update. Today we have completed 1/3 of the season. To catch up, over the last 2/3 you need to beat teams by 50% of margin they have accumulated to date. If you are behind 10%, you need to average 5% lead per day over the rest of the seaon to beat them. There are 126 days left in the seaon (this includes the all star break). So if you have not played 36 games at a position, it is no longer possible to get 162.
