Way to go, Larry. You got this.

Interesting read.
-
OPL: Larry is down 23 with 5d left. That’s 0.14d in OPL scoring. Very close!
-
Now, I just hope my erratic and hypervariable hitting unit actually can string a few solid consistent performances together through the rest of the season!
-
I have 8 players on the IL and my pitchers are clumping together so I am not holding my breath here, surprised it is this close.
-
200 for Joe!
-
OPL: Larry had a big day. He cut the lead to 6 with 6d to go.
-
Bruce pointed out to me that he hit his pitching cap today.
-
there are 8 weeks left in the season.
-
you can see how many "games" you are behind Larry (or others) by subtracting your score from theirs and dividing by 100.
-
No time for a weekly update this week. My apologies to all who wait earnestly for the weekly update!
OPL: Larry had a tough FRI/SAT but came back strong yesterday. He trails by 89 with 7d left (12.7/d).
-
200 for JD!
-
200 for Stephen yesterday!
-
OPL: Larry is down 5 points with 10d to go! He won $200 last round, can win another 200 this round!
-
200 for Luke!
-
OPL:Larry is down 74 with 12d to go.
-
200 for Larry!
-
OPL update: Larry won in the round of 32 and is now off to the round of 16. Last week Larry scored 2884, and his opponent for this week scored 2851, so the match is (naturally in the playoffs) a toss up at the start. Go Larry!
-
(cont) since teams score around 100/d, each 100 pts behind can be considered a game behind. Given that Bruce trails Larry by 3.5g, Tyler trails by 10, Stephen 19.5, Brandon 21.5, Luke 30, Joe 30, Stephan 31, JD 37, Paul 38, Anna 40, Jared 43.5. There is competition at each spot, but the most interesting is the battle for 6th (and OPL eligibility next year) between Luke, Joe and Stephan. Top projected teams are Larry, Tyler, Stephen, Brandon, Jared, Luke (no adjustments for games played).
-
Since I did not post last week, there are lots of changes since two weeks ago. Last week Tyler, Brandon and Luke were all >700. Tyler is >3000 for the last 30d. Tyler has replaced Stephan among the top hitters (Stephen, Larry, Tyler) and Brandon has replaced Jared among the top pitchers (Larry, Tyler, Brandon). Luke moves into the top 6, replacing Joe. The top 6 are now Larry, Bruce, Tyler, Stephen, Brandon and Luke. I found a fun way to think about these standings....
-
OPL: I tried to jinx Larry as his opponent gained 100points today, but Larry is still up 36 and I think his opponent is out of players today. Larry goes through to the round of 16!
-
Don’t jinx me 🤓
-
OPL: Larry is up by 141 with 1d left. Looks like he’s in the money and on to the round of 16!
-
OPL: Larry is up 160 with 2d left!
-
That was almost all Ohtani 71 points pitching and 22 hitting in a double header. I have at least 2 SP today and tomorrow, but none on Sunday so it could be close.
-
OPL: Larry had a good day yesterday. He is up by 127 with 3d left!
-
Bruce got 200 yesterday having just missed last week.
-
Larry leads by 19 with 4d to go!
-
OPL (Larry) update: Larry leads by 67 with 6d remaining in this round. As he is averaging 181/d, he has a 0.37d lead with 6 to go. Go Larry!
-
My pitchers are clumping today as I have 6 guys starting and only get the top two scores in OPL. Not good.
-
Larry has a 74 pt lead in OPL!
-
Go Larry!
-
OPL update: Larry had a good yesterday, gaining 41 points on his opponent. He now trails by 46 with 13d to go, so he needs 3.4/d to get the win.
-
Drew Rasmussen. An interesting auction prospect. Already 2 Tommy John surgeries before finishing college. Now a UCL internal brace procedure? I get the long term play, but nobody will know what sort of pitcher will come back from rehab in a year's time. Nice studies show the continued deterioration over time post-TJ surgery but after two? Limited data set, but what I propose we are seeing is distorted mechanics that has placed undue stress on the UCL.
-
OPL update: following the weekend and with 14d left in the round, Larry trails by 86, or 6.1/d. He has plenty of room to catch up as the line to gain is based on a single player, not the best of a group of players. Larry already has won an OPL t shirt by making it to the round of 32, he wins money for each win in the knock out rounds. Go Larry!
-
WU (cont): of note, Bruce and Joe, who inherited crummy teams, are on pace to make the top 6 and be OPL eligible next year!
-
WU (cont): The result is that Jared (max of 1889/1944 hitters games, 1122 ip pace) and Luke (1929/1329) drop out of the projected 6 and are replace by Bruce (1939/1944 hitters) and Joe. Current projected 6: Larry, Tyler, Stephen, Brandon, Bruce, Joe (was Larry, Tyler, Stephen, Jared, Brandon, Luke).
-
Weekly Update: No teams scored 700 last week as there were not 7 days played. Bruce is the only team over 3K for the last 30d. Stephan replaced Tyler in the best hitters (now Stephen, Larry, Stephan), while the best pitchers are unchanged (Larry, Tyler, Jared). The top 6 are unchanged (Larry, Bruce, Tyler, Stephen, Brandon, Joe) but there is some tightening up both within and under the top 6. I changed the projected 6 calculation to account for teams that are below pace for games played.

As I understand it, H2H has no innings pitching cap limits, so in contrast to Geezer, I am better situated for a H2H format. Given this is my first year I am not as committed to one format or the other. I'd need to work out how to play H2H in Ottoneu, but always up for a challenge.
-
I would be okay with either format, but I won't participate in a second league until Ottoneu implements a system for sending daily digest emails. The fire hose from this website is already too much across the two leagues I participate in.
-
I am happy with the current format.

Personally, I would not be in favor. I have spent two plus years structuring my team for this format and for OPL and given some of the different parameters for head to head I would need to restructure my roster in ways that I think would be detrimental at least in the short term. I would not mind playing head to head so perhaps those of us who are interested could start a new separate head to head league next season.
-
Question: I have been asked about changing to a weekly H2H format next year rather than our current season long format. The advantage being that every owner would have an interest in continuing to participate as the season progresses, as perhaps they could win the next week's game. I checked and changing to this format would not alter our OPL eligibility. Thoughts?
-
200+ for Paul yesterday!
-
I have have fairly healthy lineup, extra SPs and no one in the minors so should be positioned to maximize points so long as my guys play well. If not I still have a t-shirt 😎
-
OPL: Tomorrow Larry starts in the playoff phase of OPL. He has the tough 1st round match up (16 seed vs 17 seed, Larry is 17)....or has the best match up for a low seed. The first round goes a 2 weeks plus a weekend, throught 30 JUL. Go Larry!
-
At the all star break, our leagues all stars (highest scorer at their positions) are: C: Sean Murphy (Tyler), 1B: Freddie Freeman (Larry), 2B: Mookie Betts (Tyler), SS: Bo Bichette (Joe), 3B: Jose Ramirez (Bruce), OF: Ronald Acuna (Stephen), Juan Soto (Luke), Corbin Carroll (Stephen), UT: Matt Olson (Bruce), SP: Kevin Gausman (Stephen), RP: Felix Bautista (Larry)
-
Additional detail for this week: Larry leads the league in AB, H, 2B, BB and SV. Bruce leads the league in IP and K. Tyler leads the league in HR and HBP. Stephen leads the league in SB and HLD. Joe leads the league in 3B. Paul has the least CS. JD has the least HBP by pitchers. Jared has the least H allowed, BB allowed and HR allowed.
-
Weekly update for all star week, no games until Friday. 91g is on pace for getting to 162 so the season is 56% complete. Tyler passed Stephan for hitting last week, so the top 3 hitters are now Stephen, Larry and Tyler. The top 3 pitchers are unchanged (Larry, Tyler, Jared). The top 6 is unchanged (Larry, Bruce, Tyler, Stephen, Brandon, Joe) and the projected top 6 is unchanged (Larry, Tyler, Stephen, Jared, Brandon, Luke).

My MI position just gets hammered by real life coaching decisions!
Not next season!
