I would support moving to 12 teams.

There is one issue I would like to get some input on. We currently have 12 owners and 2 open teams. With the late start and the lockout, I am not surprised that there are still openings. With that being said, looking at the available teams, there is significantly more this time of year than usual. We do have the option of reducing the number of teams to 12 (standard league size). I continue to reach out to owners as I see them. However, what is everyone's opinion on this?
-
Hey Everyone - I have set the draft time based on everyone's input and the date that worked best for most people.
-
If so, you can make my tuesdays a yes as well if you don’t mind starting 10 minutes late
-
Just confirming that’s 8 PM Eastern, yeah?

Sorry, disregard that last message – got sent to spam

I haven't seen an email come through – let me know if I missed it. My fantasy football league this year used when2meet.com to schedule our draft and it was really easy. Just a thought!

Hey Everyone - With the lockout over, let's get a draft date booked. I will get an email out to everyone in the next 10 minutes or so to coordinate a draft time. We still have a couple of openings (it has been slow going with the lockout). If you have anyone interested, have them snatch up the spots quickly.
-
Sounds good - thanks Capa!

A couple of quick updates - first, I don't anticipate any issues filling the remaining two spots. Since football is over I think fantasy baseball will start to heat up. Of course, that also depends on the lockout. On the issue of the lock out and our draft, my preference would be to wait until there is a resolution with the lockout to set a draft time. My assumption is when the lockout is settled, will still have 30+ days prior to the season beginning. Plenty of time to set a draft date.
-
Whoa! Is Oscarville a new owner or just a deadline person!? I wanted that Manaea
-
It is final day for penalty-free keeper cuts. Happy cutting.
-
As of this morning, we have 11 of 14 teams renewed for next year. One team is already open. Potentially we have two more open slots. If you know of anyone interested in one of those teams, please let me know. Otherwise, I have little doubt they will get filled prior to draft time.
-
Four days remain to renew your team (for the few owners who have not yet). End of day on Saturday is your deadline. After that deadline, teams not renewed will be abandoned.
-
Folks, I’ve still got a catcher and closer glut — get at me if you need either!
-
Man Shoop, do you have dirt on these guys or something? You made out like a bandit on those last two trades
-
I actually abandon the team (my mistake), so I don't have control over who claims it. If you have someone that wants to claim it, send them to this link: https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/claimteams and have them claim the team. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
-
Hey Capa, I have a friend who is interested in the vacant team. How should he get in touch?
-
You're a prince
-
Done - just a reminder, I have a roughly 10 minute rule - I will cancel any trade if one of the parties let me know within roughly 10 minutes. Thanks
-
Hey commish, can I get that Lowe-Garcia trade cancelled? It was a misclick on my part
-
Boot him--sooner the better as the hot stove fantasy baseball is heating up.
-
I will mark the team as abandoned - thanks for pointing this out. I will give people in the league a few days to bring forward any owner before I start seriously looking. Let me know if you have anyone interested.
-
I would say it is time to look for a new owner

Should we maybe abandon the Wilmer team so we can get a new manager? They haven't been on since August.

Wonderful to see things stirring here again. I just threw a big pile of guys on my trade block that I'm on the fence about keeping -- be in touch if you've got interest in any of them.
-
I should also mention that renewals are due at the end of the month and that date won't change. Niv did mention there could be some changes that make this season look like 2020, if necessary, regarding league execution and expenses. I'll do my best to continue providing updates. Thanks to four of our owners who have already renewed!
-
Niv just posted that he will adjust the keeper deadline by January 24th if there is no sign of a resolution to the lockout.
-
Hi People! I'm looking to possible trade Fernando Tatis, Justin Turner and Zac Gallen.
-
Hey Everyone - I wanted to reach out and see if anyone was expecting not to come back. I know we have some time before next season begins, but if we need to find a new owner or two, I would like to start that process right now. If you are not planning on playing again next year, please reach out to me and let me know.
-
Hey all – my Trade Block has been updated with what I've got available! Presumed NL ROY, AL Cy Young, and both NL & AL MVPs can be had for the right price!

$400 - the cap never changes
-
How much is the cap we need to be under?
-
Hey everyone - thanks for participating in arbitration. For a first-year league of 14, having 13 of the team participate is phenomenal. You might be asking what comes next? Don't drop your players too early. There may be trade opportunities out there. Between now and 1/31, trading can be done regardless of the salary cap. You must drop players and be below the salary cap by 1/31. Any players dropped between now and then don't incur a penalty. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
-
Hey Smallville - There is a new tab at the top of the menu called "Arbitration". You have the ability to increase the salaries of players from other teams. You can increase every team/player up to $3 and you have a total of $30 to use. You must use all $30 in order for your allocations to count. If you have any questions, let me know.
-
What is Arbitration? I'm an Ottoneu newbie
-
Arbitration has two weeks remaining. I plan to provide a couple of more reminders before the deadline on November 14th. Let me know if you have any questions.
-
Thanks everybody for a great season, and especially thanks to Cutter and Capa for keeping things competitive right to the end!
-
Please everyone participate in arbitration (even if you are planning on leaving next year). If you are leaving, please let me know ASAP and I will begin looking for replacements. Let me know if there are any questions.
-
Rosters lock on 2/1 until auction date (you can actually still drop players, but then they incur a penalty). The money you have after you drop players is what you can use in next years auction.
-
Once this is over, there will be a period of time that you can trade players. I would strongly suggest not dropping players until January. Do your best to try to trade players you may not want to keep prior to then. All players dropped between the end of arbitration (11/15) and 1/31 are done so without penalty.
-
Next, will be arbitration. During this time, you will be able to allocate $30 to increase other teams players salaries. There is a limit where you can only use $3/team (so you can’t allocate all of your money towards one player/team).
-
First, this weekend (most likely), players salaries will increase. If the player has major league experience, their salary will increase by $2. If the player only has minor league experience, they will increase by $1.
-
For Smallville (and anyone else) – A quick primer on what is going to happen the next few weeks.
-
What is arbitration? This was my first year so I'm still learning
-
Great Season Everyone!!!
-
A big congrats to Big Gibby! Winning an Ottoneu league is a tough endeavor with all of the good managers. The best part about Ottoneu is that the fun is going to keep coming. We have arbitration starting on 10/15 and lasting a month. Everyone should plan on participating in arbitration. If you are a manager that is not planning on coming back. Please message me so I can start looking for a replacement. After arbitration, offseason trading opens up which will take us to cut day on 1/31.
-
Hey folks, last chance to grab your starting catcher of the future: Stassi, Kirk, and Kelly are all dirt cheap and available!
-
Good advice by the guy who threw him on my boat ;)
-
DeGrom is a mighty heavy anchor at $80 minimum next year - if an anchor is too heavy, it sinks the boat....
