I had two different guys hit 3 HRs on the same day. I feel like the odds it of that happening are insane, haha.
-
Strange...I don't see any cars involved in the price you're paying your new prospects.

Going full Coppy/Hinkie mode, baby. #trusttheprocess
-
I’m just playing pitcher roulette and hoarding them all. Build up innings while they’re healthy then have the arms to survive inevitable attrition and still be selective later.
-
You're killing me WOBA...
-
Maybe Trout coming back tomorrow will set things right in baseball.
-
It's just going to be such a weird season.
-
The $9 trio of Roe, Greene, and Romo posted 37.33 points in 3.2 innings yesterday. But Kris Bryant, Edwin Encarnacion, and Eduardo Escobar can't hit. Makes sense.
-
So I spent all my money on offense in the off-season, and all three of my expensive closers (Chapman, Giles, Smith) have been on the IL for the last few days. So what has carried me through as I've risen through the standings? Relief pitching, of course.
-
D'Arnuad and Flowers both started showing symptoms after that exhibition game. I pray it is only limited to them.
-
I'm over here hand-wringing nervously about the Marlins' positive tests having an effect on the Braves after the exhibition series.

The only silver lining, if you want to call it that, is that a player on the IL for covid does open an extra roster spot. It basically functions the same as the 60-day designation, where the salary counts but the roster spot doesn't. Just keep that in mind if we have some mass covid IL situation and games are still ongoing.
-
Yeah, my position players have been mostly dodging those bullets, but I've felt it in the relief corps. Will Smith, Aroldis Chapman, and now Ken Giles. That's all my closers. :(
-
All Marlins, Orioles, Yankees and Phillies go "down" after multiple Marlins folks test positive. I never thought about how positive tests on one team may impact 4 total teams. Setting lineups this year is going to be more a war of attrition, and less a best matchup scenario.
-
Okay good, that would have been very bad!
-
Nevermind, it literally just put them back.
-
Well we had our first administrative error. I hope we can rectify it. Because I had the setting on to kick my guys out of the lineup who were not starting, and there was faulty data indicating nobody was starting, it just removed three of my starting position players from my lineup as their game started.
-
I have a completely different team this year and they're doing the exact same thing. Batters and pitchers on the bench (Christian Walker? Marco Gonzales?) are performing better than the ones in the game (Kris Bryant and Lucas Giolito). Feels like a curse.
-
Let's do this! May you all "make pitch" this season.

Smell Baseball!
-
Holy shit, I had myself trained to ignore Ottoneu messages after the shutdown, season snuck up on me. Happy baseball, best of luck to everyone, but especially me!

Today's the day! Good luck everyone!
-
Nooooo I was trying to get Sale back for cheap :(
-
It looks like Ottoneu has added a toggle switch on lineup pages where you can have it automatically bench a player that isn't in the starting lineup. Should be really useful, definitely recommend everyone turn it on once games get going. (I imagine games played numbers will change when we figure out season length, etc) But will keep you from using up a GP for a guy who only comes in as a pinch hitter.
-
I can see players getting less days off, and I'm certainly going to be chasing hot streaks. No time to waste waiting on someone to break out of a slump if I only get a few months to accrue points.
-
I'm so interested to see what a potentially shortened season does for fantasy baseball, especially in this format. I'm guessing more teams will be in "go for it" mode, since it may only require a month or two long hot stretch to surge up the standings.
-
I miss baseball. :( Hope everyone out there is staying safe. Looking forward to when I can actually gain points with this new team!
-
Well Ronald, looks like the most expensive of your 1 billion pitchers is getting an elbow MRI. Not that you should have much trouble replacing Sale.
-
After getting Bryant, Pham, and Nola via trade, my team almost has to be the most improved over last season. 7th place will mean a long way to climb, but I'm excited.
-
I didn't get any obvious great deals on good players, but I'd take Trout, Stanton, Seager, Walker, Santana, Greene , and Turnbull over anyone else's draft haul. I feel much better about this draft than the first one.
-
I tried to bid you up for JRam, just not much you can do when you have no money.
-
I couldnt believe those guys went so cheap, honestly probably should've been more aggressive there as I ended up with more remaining funds than I intended knowing my situation with Sev. Other than that and my mind thinking Knebel when it was actually Kintzler, I enjoyed my first auction draft. Definitely learned some spots to better prepare in the future.
-
Honestly, I’m still shocked I got JD and JRam at those prices to supplement the surplus I boarded over the offseason. It looks good on paper until all my pitchers have their arms amputated.
-
woba's team is so good
-
Just sent out an email reminding everyone, but the draft is TONIGHT at 9 PM eastern. See y'all there!
-
Cost, no, since they basically don't know what the cost will be. But stats, yes. You can go to the "Players" tab at the top, check the "free agents only" box, then sort by whichever stat you want. You can also navigate to Fangraphs' sortable stats showing only the free agents specific to this league, which is really helpful if you wanted to look up things like K/BB% etc rather than league-specific stats like P/IP.
-
For watchlist purposes, is there any way to list FA's by stats, cost, etc.?

I'm in other keeper/dynasty formats that work on that March 1 date for that purpose, didn't know if we had that flexibility here. Oh well, that's how it goes I guess...
-
Yeah, the keeper deadline is decided by Ottoneu. It would obviously make things easier if you could wait as late as possible, but that's kind of part of baseball and fantasy baseball.
-
Curious for future purposes...is keeper deadline set by Ottoneu? Is there something stopping us from a roster deadline of March 1 with a draft the weekend before season starts? Just seems to make more sense to get a read on players once they report.
-
That's correct. It's a risk all of us take and I'm sure Severino won't be the last of them to go down.
-
The timing is a bummer. Am I right in thinking that's set in stone and not changeable by commissioners?

Pitchers gonna pitcher
-
That was a calculated risk that just exploded. Either of his healthy seasons would've ranked top 10 last year in P/IP among full season SPs. These are the times you wish the keeper deadline/draft were a bit closer to opening day, it would've been a bit easier to swallow the trade cost alone without adding in sunk cost. So much for my solid SP core, time to dig out of a $31 hole...
-
Many commiserations with J.D. That $31 Severino is an ouch.

RIP Leap Draft.

Alright, I saw enough people say they were available to change it to the 28th. We'll wait for someone else to complain.

After 7:00 on any of the days mentioned would work for me. Otherwise, I have no preference.
-
2/28 would have to be after 8:30 PM EST for me. I can make whatever work on 2/29 or 3/1.
