September 16, 2024 11:57 PM : The White Sox intend to prioritize playing time for Vargas and Bryan Ramos down the stretch of the regular season, despite the return of Yoan Moncada (adductor) from the 60-day injured list, Kyle Glaser of Baseball America reports.
Analysis: While Ramos appears to have the upper hand for chances at the hot corner, skipper Grady Sizemore stated in Monday's pregame press conference that he has no set plan to introduce Moncada back into the starting nine, and he'll continue to give both Vargas and Ramos plenty of playing time during the last few weeks of the season. Vargas will likely see opportunities to play at various positions around the diamond over the next 11 games as the club sets its sights on next year.
