i am posting in my other leagues, so might as well post here, even though it is likely unnecessary, but...a) i assume everyone is coming back next year, yes? if not, i guess let us know so we can replace your lame ass. b) arb starts sunday!

I think the question is should you have to cut guys to field a legal roster. An MLB team with so many injuries it can't field a roster would have to make changes to the 40 man to fix that either with a DFA or using the 60 day DL or trade or something. I think we should be held to the same standards. The fact that that right now it doesn't make sense to cut or trade or whatever to maintain an active roster is exactly why we need the increased penalty.

I'm saying this as someone who threw Rick Porcello despite his garbage year in order to make sure I hit inning minimums.

No one said the players had to be keepable - that's kind of the whole point Jee was making, you should be cutting those DL players and rostering players who actually play baseball.

I am strongly against the penalty beyond what we currently do. I definitely did not try to tank my innings and had pretty extenuating circumstances this season I think. I literally had 14 people on the DL at one point in July/August and it would have been impossible to meet the limit. There was no way I was going to cut good and keepable players to meet the limit.

4 points has to be the lowest final points total in Ottoneu history. My team and I are pathetic.

One addendum to Geoff's point - should be $1 per 50 innings/5 games from each team. So if you're under, you get $11 in extra arb your way, min

I'd rather do what Geoff suggested (additional arb dollars) which we can manage via commish tools. Fine with monetary fine too, but worth keeping in mind that I can throw in $50 extra as a 2017 penalty and potentially win most back in 2018.
Freeport Pretzels on October 4, 2017 4:36 PM
I don't want to make this a system-wide change, because I am not sure every league wants to deal with inning minimums in that way. I would be very on-board with every team that doesn't make minimums having to throw an extra $50 into the pot for next season.

its a competitive advantage to stockpile as many people in the minors and dl players as opposed to field bartolo colon and others to meet the 1250 innings limit.
