• If you allow for Luck to be cut then you have to allow miller to be but, owner made decision to keep luck based on conditions before retirement then conditions changed so we make an exception. Integrity of the league?

• Just asking everyone this question: if we allow a cut to be made before the draft where just like in the regular season you eat half the salary, is that somehow a get out of jail free card? all it does is open up a spot to draft someone in the draft keeping the integrity of the league rules intact. at this point i dont care one way or another. im just curious if i am not thinking of something the rest of you are.

• Building in exception and special rules can slowly erode the simplicity of the game and there will always be people who wish things could be stretched or extended to cover their particular situation. I agree with Smokin’ Jay, unfortunate break, business as usual.

• I have luck in another ottoneau league and the league voted sorry that’s football. I actually agree. Lamar miller is out the entire year and that owner gets no break. Who know if luck come back out of retirement this year? Anything can happen so don’t think any owner deserves a break due to any Injury, suspension or retirement

• It is. I can make the cut on the back end and a cat hit will apply. As I said, I'm open to whatever most people want to do, so everybody weigh in if you care and we'll go from there.

• As someone who paid Levon Bell $103 to score me 0 points last year, I can sympathize for sure. My vote in this case is to allow one pre-draft cut, but you still eat the cap hit for half salary as you would. But is that even possible?

• I'm NOT in favor of a 'get out of jail free card'. While it sucks to be a Luck owner, that's sort of the nature of fantasy football: Injuries, suspension, retirements can all occur at any point in the year.

• So it sounds like the discussion is really: Are we open to allowing 1 post deadline/pre draft cut? For really any unfortunate situation like retirement, can't get up and go to meetings, injury, etc. The mechanics behind that would be people give me their cut by Friday, I make the cut, and you eat the cap hit that comes with it. Thoughts? I'm good with whatever people want to do.

• I was kinda half-joking, but I wouldn’t mind having a rule where if a player is suddenly out for the year, you’re able to drop before the draft at half the salary. I’m open to whatever everyone decides, and would have no problem eating half the salary if I can drop him beforehand. If not, no worries, I can just try to pick someone up after the draft.

• I can see it from both sides, however i have foreman on my team who got cut three days after the keeper deadline cause he couldnt get to meetings on time. i know its not the same but if i drop him i will eat half his salary. i just think that is the risk you run when choosing to keep people. i know it hurts dogpile to have to eat half that salary (plus that was a top tier qb) but thats the format of the league. i would say to commish, can you see about allowing us to drop players, and eat half the salary, before the draft so we can open roster spots? maybe that is what he was asking about rather than getting full salary back.

• I'm with Gurley here-- while I sympathize with Luck owners, exceptions in this case makes it hard to know where to draw the line... ACL tears? Josh Gordon suspensions?

• Don’t think one should be rewarded if a player retires treated same as Lamar miller. Both are done for year. Don’t think we can make exceptions every time a special circumstance occurs

• I was good with letting Pile drop him, but Gurley makes good points as well regarding it being same as a major injury in training camp. I’m fine with whatever the majority decides.

• I sympathize but think it messes with the intent of the format too much. It’s a keeper league, if someone kept blows out an ACL before the season or holds out for a new contract and doesn’t play it really sucks but I don’t see the surprise retirement as any different. If anything it’s better because he can be dropped immediately since there is no reason to hold onto hope for a return like an injury or hold out would create. I’ll go with the group consensus but my opinion is that it’s a matter of bad luck (pun fully intended)

• I'm open to Dogpile being able to drop Luck due to the insane timing of the announcement. If anybody has issues with that, OM me and let me know by Friday. If people are ok with it, I'll move forward with it on Friday. Also - Reminder draft is Sunday night at 7 eastern.

• Gentlemen, as I was reminded today, it's about time to talk draft. Kickoff is September 5th, so I propose Sunday night September 1st for the draft. Lets the preseason shake out with injuries and what not. Let me know any issues with that. Also, Squeezie has left us for the upcoming year so we need to fill his spot.
