• Unless there is an objection, I will be switching our league to 6 playoff teams (rather than 4), using the newly available option. Most people prefer larger playoffs, but let me know if you disagree.

• I've had a trade block listing several of my players available for trade - some of them for nearly a year -and I'm a little surprised at the lack of interest. Admittedly some of the players listed aren't that good. But more than one of them are very good, even elite. Maybe give my trade block another look? I need an ELITE receiver, maybe some other things. Let me know if anyone is interested.

• I think the tricky thing about drafting on the phone is remembering all the steps: nominating a player, entering a figure, and then hitting the “bid” button. Some people decide it is broken, but what is actually happening is that another equal or higher bid is already registered. If you’re on a weak cell signal, the feeling can become worse.

• I just set the draft for Sunday, August 19 at 5pm PT (6pm MT, 7pm CT, 8pm ET) based on the messages. Please try to make it work, but if you have a big problem with that time now is when to speak up!

• 19th is good, but a later time would be preferable (realistically after 8pm ET). On the other hand, I only have one spot to fill, and I need a kicker, so you can probably just forge on without me.

• We need to schedule our draft. The season starts 9/6. Just to get the conversation started, I propose doing it on Sunday, August 19 at 2pm PT (3pm MT, 4pm CT, 5pm ET). I would expect it to last 1 or 2 hours but not more than that. As a dynasty league with most quality players already rostered, we also have the option of a short draft (1 hour) followed by normal waiver wire transactions. Thoughts?

• In anticipation of the coming football season, how do all of you feel about having a winners' pool? Do you want to continue doing it via a site like LeagueSafe? Do you want to skip it this year? Last year we ended up with $200 in the pot and did a 60/30/10 split (our first three places were all teams who contributed to the pot).

• You drop players using the site, and you may keep all of your current players (you have salary to spare, so you are OK). You pay the $20 ottoneu fee via the web page also. The only part of this that we do outside the ottoneu site is the optional winners pool, which we have done via LeagueSafe in the past. That is just a small optional amount so there are cash winnings. But, we haven't yet voted on whether to do it that way this coming season (and it's optional).

• Welcome Scotty! By all means, stay. We are a good league without the drama. Let me know if you have any trouble with your team settings, etc. Our keeper deadline is 7/31, FYI. We have not yet set our draft date.
