• Seems to be no note on "auction starter" although I thought that was part of the criteria too. See below for rules excerpt:
  
  In the case of a tie with the highest bid, the team with a worse winning percentage will receive the player
  
  In the case that the winning percentages are equal, the team with less points will receive the player
  
  In the case of identical winning percentages and points, the system will flip a coin and award the player accordingly

• Huh, I'll have to check that out. I know I haven't ever lost a bid I started when tied here or in baseball. I don't recall seeing a bid starter lose, actually.

• I think it’s actually a “coin flip” for tied auctions right now. During the season the tie breakers will be winning % and points scored before going to the coin flip

• FYI, if you don't start the auction for a player, you will have to bid at least $2 to attain their services. Ties go to the bid starter.

• The Unserious People say use the waiver wire liberally to cut costs. You automatically gain half back, and if they player is worth half the amount you paid (usually so), another team will pick them up. In my limited experience w/Ottoneau, the waiver wire is more of a friend than expecting a league manager to bail you out. It's obviously not a charity here, and most trade offers reflect that. • Hey guys, I wanted to go over a few things before the draft tonight at 730pm eastern.
  
  First, the ottoneu draft room has issues on some web browsers. Defininetly on google chrome. They recommend downloading Firefox for the draft room. I highly recommend you download Firefox and log into your ottoneu account and try to get in the draft room before 730pm tonight. If you have any problems please let me know ASAP.
  
  Second, if anyone is new to ottoneu please make sure you read the rules page thoroughly, if you have any questions post them here and we will be happy to help you.
  
  Quick reminder, your draft budget is $400. This is also your waiver budget for in season pickups. How much (if any) of your budget you want to save for pickups is up to you. But remember you must have $1 free to pickup a player, You can't claim guys for $0. You do save 50% of a cut players salary, but cutting $1 players saves you nothing. Reminder you don't have to draft a full 20 man roster either.
  
  Third, there are college players in the ottoneu player database, feel free to draft whoever you want. College players salary only increases by $1 at the end of the season, whereas NFL players increase by $4.
  
  Lastly, make sure you check the positions and scoring. It's full point per reception, there are no defenses, but there are kickers. And there is a superflex AND a flex spot.

• Hey guys, welcome to fouball, thanks for joining.
  
  A few things before we kickoff the season:
  
  Draft is currently set for Sept 3rd at 730 eastern. I anticipate the draft will last a few hours. We have a few guys on the west coast and i think it will be hard for them to draft much earlier than that. If this time doesn't work for anyone please let me know ASAP so we can try to find a different time that works for everyone. We only have a week left.
  
  Six teams will make the playoffs, the team with the best record and the team with the most total points will both be given a bye. The rest of the 4 wildcard teams will be decided by record. If the team with the most most points also has the best record the second best record will get a bye.
  
  It will be required that teams always have a full active lineup, every week of the season. We will give everyone one mulligan for late injuries etc, but after that we will dock future draft $ for repeat offenders. This also applies to the end of season and during consolation brackets. You can fill your bench with injured or college players but you will still need to maintain a full active roster at all times every week of the season.
  
  I'd like give some incentive to the consolation bracket, I suggest whoever wins the consolation bracket gets a $5 token to decrease the price on any of their keepers at the end of the season. And we'll give the consolation runner up a $2 token to use. (token for one individual player, player value won't ever go below $1)
  
  Lastly, in future seasons i would want to change this to a $20 ottoneu league with a league safe side-pot where the juice will be less than ottoneu takes and it will also allow us to do custom payouts. Whatever we want to decide on as a group, some suggestions are weekly most points, regular season points / record. I would not be opposed to a side pot this year as well if we all agree on something right away, but with such little time left before the season i'd rather concentrate on getting the draft going.
