• Payment deadline has been extended to Oct 14. Niv seems to have resolved most of the concerns (e.g., users having to provide sensitive information to a payment processor, how to properly pay out any relevant "winnings" per tax law), but they are still in the final testing stage. Payment reminder should appear when we log in soon.

• Ottoneu rules are terse (for football even more than baseball) and one of the primary ones is that the other owners get 48 hours to approve or veto any trades. If anyone doesn’t vote, it counts as ‘approve.’ Not enough of you agreed with my objection to block the trades, so I have no choice but to accept them. It’s just a game - so fine. But In my Ottoneu baseball league, there has not over two years been a single trade of just cash for a player. And most pro sports leagues limit straight player for cash transactions to help ensure competitive balance. I’d encourage us to think about avoiding conditions that allow one or a few teams to dominate just because that’s not a lot of fun for the rest of us. I’m open to reasonalble trade offers from anyone.

• I'm sorry if these trades upset anyone, but they are completely within the rules and part of Ottoneau fantasy. Value is a subjective thing, and I don't know about you, but I rarely see a trade where I completely agree with the "values" attributed to those being traded.
  Loaning $15 to acquire a top-5 WR in next year's draft - most likely a first rounder - for $1 when you have $300 left in salary and no one to spend it on, does not seem a high price to me. If I were in Plague's position, I would be willing to loan double the amount to acquire that asset. Then you have the $25 for Baker. Granted, Baker is not anyone's 1st choice quarterback, but who else can Plague grab off the waiver wire to start in his QB spot this week? This $25 loan can be justified simply by supply and demand.
  Would people also be opposed if this was later in the season and I - for example - out of the playoff race, traded Davonte Adams and a loan of $50 to someone in contention for a college prospect? These type of trades happen across all Ottoneau leagues all the time.
  I agree with RoundRock that any type of "expansion draft" option should not really be on the table.
  I also wanted to thank Plague for following through with this league. None of us have paid for the season yet, and he could have easily just walked away after missing the draft. Let's let him build his team for the future any way he can (within the rules, obviously).

• Just because someone missed the draft does not mean they should be handicapped from a big means of getting players (trading). While I agree that trades don’t seem logical in terms of value, I don’t see how it disrupts the competitive balance of the league for the long terms because this much more of a dynasty league not a redraft, and because loaning money is a legitimate strategy within Ottoneu. I am vehemently opposed to being forced to lose a player off my team that I just drafted. If I had known that was going to be a thing I would have drafted very differently.

• I completely object to both of the proposed trades between The Plague and Spare Parts. In each case, the amount paid in ‘loan’ (effectively extra salary cap going to Spare Parts) greatly exceeds the value of the player received. I’m very sorry for your family’s loss, but we shouldn’t upset the competitive balance of the league in Spare Parts favor. I think that either Plague should play only with waiver wire players or we should have an ‘expansion’ draft where Plague gets to pick a player from each other team in exchange for $25 (we each get to protect a certain number of players).

• Sep. 3 will be tough for me to make. The 4th is doable if it’s later in the day (eastern time). If it’s during the week I probably wouldn’t be able to start later than 7-8pm as I get up at 3 am for work. I saw a lot of other people were kind of the opposite, so If it’s easier to find a replacement for me that’s fine

• I moved a lot of things around to attend the draft scheduled for today (8/26). I’m fine with 9/2, but 7pm edt is going to be tight for me as I will be on a train scheduled to arrive in DC at 635pm. So if there’s any chance to push it to 8pm et, that would be better. I am also fine for 9/3, 9/4, 9/5 - and am much more flexible about times on those dates. I appreciate that scheduling is difficult and I thank the commissioner and all of you! I’m looking forward to the season. One thing I would ask is that we set a date/time a few days in advance and stick with it.

• The only day I'd be available before 9pm central would Sept 5th. I would not be available at all on Sept 2nd. If a 9pm central time is workable or if the draft is any time on Sept 5th, I'm still in. Otherwise I'll have to drop out and that might have a ripple effect since I helped recruit two others for this league.
