• Last game week for trades! And dang: We have 3 teams at 7-4 (occupying playoff spots #2 - 4) and 3 breathin' fire at 6-5. And with 4 weeks left, 13 It Is and Tackle Me Elmos are certainly in it at 5 - 6. With SIX NFL teams on bye this week, that may be the real story to how some of the league's biggest H2H matches are decided. Good luck, all!

• Also, Bo Nix is so hard to factor! Good lord. Just like Williams. Are you getting 250 yds and 2 TDs? 89 yds and 1 TD? 315 yds and 2 INTs? Both of them, when they are on, look fantastic. They can also look supremely like rookies making all the decision errors you would expect. Huge upside, though. I think Denver will squeak into the playoffs at the AFC #6.

• Thank you, Round Rock! Much appreciated. And I know exactly what you mean about how certain trades can blow up trust in a league. I do believe that the Ottoneu structure and community is in general much more immune to it. But I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts, and thank you to Lake Gage and King for chiming in too. One of things that can truly kill a league is silence and indifference.

• After getting up to speed, I’m willing to admit I may have read too much into Lake’s comment about tanking and that may have resulted in projecting worries from previous leagues. For that, I apologize. I have seen leagues where similar trades have essentially broken those leagues.
  
  I will also admit I am still definitely a novice with Ottoneu leagues and how they differ from “traditional” auction-dynasty leagues.
  
  To Lake and North, and to all others in the league, please accept my apologies for overreacting and hopefully we can all move forward.

• I think the trade is perfectly fine. I understand your concern, Round Rock, but I know both managers are well informed. I don't think either one is at a real disadvantage here. Lake Gage is certainly playing for the future with all three pieces he's targeted, and after the season he will get a ton of cash back to challenge for high-end players available in the next draft. Might even include CeeDee Lamb--a very pricey, win-now type player (so long as Dallas can put an arm on the field). The King is certainly pushing his chips all in to hang onto this league's crown.
  
  I understand the concerns, and when you have studs and large loans it can appear outsized, but I honestly think we might wind up next year looking at this trade as McBride for Pacheco. Everyone else in the transaction has future uncertainties (either for cost or sustained production concerns in their offenses). Or Mahomes becomes insurance for King on Lamar Jackson's salary, which, like Lamb's, is really hard to carry year over year.

• Yeah, I thought about the trade for a while. We did a lot of negotiating, because I wanted to make sure that I was getting enough future value - I was aware I was giving up three very currently valuable players. I don't know if it's just because I'm more of a baseball guy than a football one, but it seems pretty normal for a team who's out of contention to trade away players who are going to walk in free agency - which is essentially what Lamb and Mahomes would be doing here - for talented young players that will help his squad in the future.
  
  I am new to fantasy football, and last year I did not do a good job of shoring up the future of my team. I only had one college player on my roster - Drake Maye. I think I got lucky by hitting on some aberrant performances - Raheem Mostert for instance - but my team wasn't fundamentally sound. The first quarter of this season bore that out. Everything I'm doing is part of an effort to retool my approach and lay the foundation for having a good team for a long time, rather than relying on the draft every year. Again, you want to dunk on me for being bad at fantasy football, go ahead.
  
  Believe me or not, but I promise you I made that trade in good faith. You don't want to believe me, fine.

• @roundrock, what do you mean taking advantage of his situation? He was shopping Mahomes and lamb to more than just you and I would presume. What's wrong with trading some of your future for current gain? Isn't that one of the points of dynasty.
  Just to let you know, Lake and I had been in talks for over a week. I was and still am hesitant about the trade. It was not an easy decision for me to trade away cornerstones of a dynasty just to slightly bolster my chances this year. McBride and Thomas are huge loses for me, I value them very highly.

• I think you may have misinterpreted lake's tank tank tank comment. I think he was just making light of the bad luck he's had this season.
  Do you see this as a lopsided trade? Lake is receiving an elite TE (yes, McBride is already considered in the top tier of TE in fantasy by many of the "experts"), Thomas Jr. shows nothing but a bright future, and an already good contributer in his rookie year and milroe is a top rated QB prospect. And those three guys cost less than $10 combined.
  Do you actually think this trade "damages the integrity of the league?"
  Please let me know, I'm genuinely interested in understanding why if that is the case.

• I have less issue with you than your trade partner taking advantage of your situation. Heck, you even shopped Mahomes and Lamb to me at one point and I passed, and I still would. Idk. Maybe I should have waited until after the veto vote to voice my opinion on that trade.

  I spent the first quarter of the season trying to compete: it appears that you missed that I traded for Mahomes before trading him away. I made big bets this year on Herbert and Pacheco and missed badly. If you want to pile on because I’m bad at fantasy football, go ahead I guess.
  
  I have absolutely no chance of being competitive this year. I would have to cut Lamb at that price at the end of the season. I would likely cut Mahomes too. Pacheco is the only one I would have kept. I’d rather get something for those players than simply cut them and get nothing. With no chance this year, I’m doing my best to be competitive for next year.
  
  There are better ways to air grievances than this. Don’t be passive aggressive. If you have a problem, talk to me directly, or approach the commissioners.

• In an auction league outright tanking has significantly less value (and arguably no value at all) compared to a standard league.
  
  Not to mention a pretty blatantly lopsided trade brings insinuation of collusion and damages the integrity of the league.

• Hahaha! Yes. I have been very entertained by the Project Pts column in the weekly matchups, as I consistently have a forecasted win or at least very close match.... But, by the 3:00 pm games on Sunday, the Ottoneu gods are like, "So. We're going to revise the projection--downward." I have a real knack for rostering the wrong WRs! :)

I filled a roster yet (1) Cook never took the field for BUF, (2) Wicks got hurt early for GB, (3) LV forgot Tucker played for them, (4) Dak forgot how to QB, (5) Burrow forgot Gesicki was a TE and (6) Zack Moss fumbled away what little production he brought. Those 6 guys produced 4.62 pts for me. Combined. Things happen. It's alright. Forward!

  I have young kids as well, I get it it's not easy. I didn't ask for an explanation, we all have our own lives and shit happens. You do not need to explain yourself to me. I'm just a random dude on a fantasy site.
  I've been in other leagues where this has happened, hasn't been brought to the league's attention, and the season went downhill from there. Trying to avoid that here.

• Hahaha! I've been absolutely murdered by the NFL this week for Ottoneu and my Draftkings group. I started out feeling very good about things, and then people kept getting injured, or the player produced ZERO points, or they had epically terribly games (Dak!?!? >> flails arms <<). Brutal. Meanwhile, in my two confidence pool leagues ... I'm perfect on picking winners. Looks like I'm in the wrong racket. :) Oh, ye, football gods!
