The first of two playoff weeks is in the books! Barring any scoring adjustments, it looks like Love narrowly pipped King in the high-scoring 1 vs 4 match while on the other side of the main bracket Round Rock overwhelmed Black and Blue. (Rock had 5 players post 20+ points this week!) In the consolation bracket You But Better and Coulda Been took care of business over Elmos and Chickens.

Ah, we can all point to leaving someone or other on the bench when it would have shifted the final outcome. In no week (after about Week 4 this season) would I start Rodgers over anyone other than a backup QB. But even on this recent H2H, if you play Old Man Rodgers instead of Sam Darnold, yes, you win your match up ... but only if we don't add in the hypothetical of the other team starting Ladd McConkey (who was a game-time decision) instead of Alec Pierce (who suffered a concussion in the first half and left with 0 fantasy points). McConkey wound up able to play at produced 14+. That would have put the same match out of reach back in the other team's favor.

Ottoneu is a cold equation.

FINAL RESULTS - REGULAR SEASON
Congratulations to our three division winners! Black and Blue (Division A), Love is Patient (Division B), and Round Rock (Division C). Party poppers and dancing shoes for this season's Wild Card playoff spot winner too: King of the North. And congrats to the squads finishing 5 - 8. You are now in the Consolation Bracket.

Playoff seeding is Love (#1), Round Rock (#2), Black and Blue (#3), and King (#4). It was a wild finish too, with Round Rock stealing Div C after holding on against Pepe last night. Coulda Been mounted a comeback vs Lake Gage but it was not enough to hold onto the division. It's a hard truth too, as Coulda Been's squad was the second-highest scoring team this season. Parity and Ottoneu cruelty abounds!

Down to the last day of the Ottoneu regular season! TWO games on tap tonight: CHI-MIN and ATL-LAS. On Sunday, wet and gusty weather, a handful of injuries, and some unexpectedly poor performances led to results in our league that went against the prognosticators' prognostications! Squirrel is leading Black and Blue, opening the playoff door to You But Better ... but Tackle Me Elmos is up on You But Better! Lake Gage is up on Coulda Been, opening a playoff path for Round Rock ... but he needs to hold off Pepe Silvia. Pepe has two guys rostered tonight (if Swift can suit up), Round Rock has one. King, meanwhile, seems to have locked up the #4 seed with a robust 165 pts this week--a point total eclipsed only by his Div B foe Love Is Patient. Love dropped a 185 on the league this week.

WOW. We are down to Week 15 and still looking for resolution in Divisions A and C. Coulda Been heard me say Pepe could play spoiler in C so motivated his squad to put up a blistering 180+ pts. That gave him a good cushion on Round Rock on pts, though they remain tied on record. The dust, my friends, has yet to settle! Oddly enough, all playoff contending teams are playing non-playoff teams this week ... but Elmos, Pepe, 13 and Kickin' Chickens can all bring it. Will it be Black & Black or You But Better in Div A? Will it be Coulda Been or Round Rock in Div C? When it comes to the Wild Card spot, B&B, Round Rock, and King are all separated by just 7 pts right now, but King (currently #4) has a sizable pts lead on You But Better, who (like King) has a one-win advantage on Div C's tied leaders.

It's been a fun season. I'm looking fwd to the playoffs now and trying out the consolation bracket. Thanks, all!

So with two weeks to go in the regular season, we've still got a heck of a playoff knot. Love has secured a playoff position but hasn't quite locked up #1. Black and Blue can still challenge for it--but B & B is not yet locked into the playoffs. You But Better can still win Division A--and locks up with Black this week. Black, meanwhile, needs to keep an eye on reigning champ King, who is just a game and 30 pts back of him. If Black somehow drops to 2nd in his division, King has a chance to block him from spot #4 (which King currently controls). King's path is tough, though, as he must wrestle with the Kickin Chickens this week ... who is also competing for Playoff Spot #4.

In Division C, it's parity madness! League newcomer Pepe Silvia is 6-7 but has his final two games against Coulda Been and Round Rock (both 7-6). Like Lake Gage (also facing the 7-6 teams to end the regular season), Pepe can play spoiler ... but Pepe can also play THIEF. Who will take Division C and Playoff Spot #3? It's looking very likely that playoff positions #3 and #4 will be decided by chaos and a tie-breaker on pts.

For the rest of the league, don't forget we are trying out the consolation bracket this year!

Insane Thursday through Monday of games! Only three match ups were settled outside of one score (WAS & BUF blowouts and the 9-pt barn-burner win by DEN last night, featuring multiple HUGE plays). The final stats have yet to be confirmed by Ottoneu, but a preliminary look shows Round Rock winning a slobberknocker H2H with Coulda Been to tie up Division C on record. (I think the tie-breaker is Points For, but I'll wait for the playoff seeding from the system). Tackle Me Elmos would have beaten 10 of 11 opponents with his amazing 142 pt showing ... except he battle Opponent 11 (Black and Blue), who put up 162 (!!). You But Better continues to chase Black and Blue with just a game separating them.

Meanwhile, Love Is Patient did not wait to seal his Division B crown and lock up what I think will be the #1 seed. (Congrats!) More later after the records update! Two weeks left in the regular Ottoneu season.

In case anyone is looking for RB depth, Isaac Guerrendo (SF) may be worth your time. I had him but cut him after the 49ers stopped using him after McCaffrey came back. (Guerrendo's last game before Christian's return was worth 17.7 pts.) With CM hurt again, Gurrendo picked up 8+ pts in limited use on Sunday. I would grab him ... but I cut him within the last 30 days. Curse you, Ottoneu!

Kings of the North aren't scared of this matchup. Don't put in the Newspaper that they got scared. :)

I don't mind divisional realignment, but all the playoff teams in one division seems extreme. Maybe the last place teams could draft the teams to be in the division with them, or something like that? Adds a little bulletin board material for the teams selected early ;)

As for divisional adjustments annually, I think that would be great, whether based on record or randomized (including weighted) to create new matchups. Maybe we need to have an additional bonus that division winners can name the division for the next year ... much as winning the league grants one the right to rename the league. :)

my favorite time of year, not because of thanksgiving, but because Squirrel starts his weekly fantasy commentary!

A suggestion for next year: can we mix up the divisions? In another league I am in, the division are re-sorted every year based on the previous year's record. The 4 playoff teams get put in one division, and then the next two divisions are sorted by overall record. It adds a little fun to the whole process (not playing the same teams 3x a year every year) and also ensures that every year, there are at least 2 new teams making the playoffs (only 2 playoff teams can make the playoffs next year - division winner and wild card spots). We do not have to use the same method here, but it does work pretty well over there.

I'm interested to hear what you all have to think.

And no, your King is not scared of his matchup with Love is Patient this week? Why would you even ask? lol

Yowza! The playoff picture is getting clearer with just three weeks to go, but we've got some serious division matchups going on this week. Love Is Patient (10 - 2) will try to lock down Division B with a H2H with King of the North (8 - 4). In Division C, Could Been a Contender (7 - 5) locks up with Round Rock (6 - 6) for the top spot. Meanwhile, You But Better (7 - 5) and Kickin Chickens (6 - 6) are still certainly in the picture. Pepe Silva, Tackle Me Elmos, and and 13 It Is remain in it too on a last stand week. Good luck all!

Last game week for trades! And dang: We have 3 teams at 7-4 (occupying playoff spots #2 - 4) and 3 breathin' fire at 6-5. And with 4 weeks left, 13 It Is and Tackle Me Elmos are certainly in it at 5 - 6. With SIX NFL teams on bye this week, that may be the real story to how some of the league's biggest H2H matches are decided. Good luck, all!

Also, Bo Nix is so hard to factor! Good lord. Just like Williams. Are you getting 250 yds and 2 TDs? 89 yds and 1 TD? 315 yds and 2 INTs? Both of them, when they are on, look fantastic. They can also look supremely like rookies making all the decision errors you would expect. Huge upside, though. I think Denver will squeak into the playoffs at the AFC #6.
