• May just be that they’re not showing up for Bob bc they’re his cuts? Could be wrong but I don’t believe you can see your own cuts in the waiver claims, since you aren’t eligible to claim them.

• It's a disadvantage to the playoff teams, because they can't go into an illegal roster state. So I'd vote NO, you need to make your roster valid (unless it's within 24-48 hours of seasons end).

• I actually think allowing teams to remain in an illegal state would be very disruptive because we'd be basically removing the salary cap for eliminated teams (although I recognize they'd only get one claim in that state)...there would no doubt be instances where playoff teams who are actually bound by a salary cap are outbid for FA pool players by eliminated teams that effectively have no salary cap, which doesn't feel great from a spirit of competition standpoint.

• Ok - maybe we take a vote? Hard to do that over a message board, but please vote YES it's ok to keep a player like Curry without making cuts or NO you should have to make necessary cuts to get your team under the cap. We'll total up the votes by noon or so tomorrow so teams have some guidance before this wave of players goes off waivers

• Yeah I very much agree with Bob Loblaw here. I've played a lot of Ottoneu leagues and have never seen an instance where an owner is allowed to go into an illegal state to acquire a player and just ride it out until the end of the season. Only exception is when it's a "passive" rather than an "active" roster action (e.g., in football if one of your IR guys comes off IR after you've already been eliminated, usually nobody is going to make you drop a player).

• Ehlo mailed it regarding my train of thought. I actually debated staying illegal but didn't think that would be fair. There are 4 teams that are still playing that could possibly use players that naturally become available after picking up a player. The cost of me grabbing Curry, although was hoping for less, is due now. I don't think a team should be allowed to remain in an illegal state.

• I think holding an illegal roster while your team is still playing games would definitely be frowned upon - even if you are eliminated from the playoffs, you should be maintaining a legal roster. But once the season ends, I feel like it's fine - and probably less disruptive to the overall league

• I personally think you can bid competitively and accept the illegal roster... your team isn't playing any more games so there's no loss of competitive balance - and once you have an illegal roster it will prevent you from making any future bids so it's not like some team can keep just adding continuously until the end of the season with no repercussions. Again, that's just my thought, open to counterarguments, but I think it's the cleanest solution for the end of the season

• Yeah I was surprised by that, given today’s the last day of the regular season. Not that it matters if he wasn’t planning on keeping those guys, but I thought some were keeper worthy.

• yeah that's interesting, we chose not to bid because we didn't want to make any deep cuts to our other players...if we'd considered the end of season/illegal roster situation I think we would have bid competitively. Can we clarify what is acceptable now that there are a bunch of valuable players available for claim or bid?

• I personally don't think Bob Loblaw had to cut all those players in order to make his roster legal, considering his team's season is effectively over. I think it would have been fine to get Curry and sit with an illegal roster for the end of the year. No worries either way, just figured I'd throw out my two cents for similar situations going forward
