I think we determined to lower it to 7 GS per week. So unless anyone has had a change of heart since mid-season, I think we should roll with that. We'd also continue the GS cap into the playoffs, meaning the first and second rounds would have a 7 GS cap and the two-week championship matchup would have a 7 GS cap each week, resetting on the second Monday.

I am fine with the $50 entry fee. I thought sp was getting dropped to 7 or 8 with 7 having more votes I prefer 8. Maybe wait till all the teams have owners and vote then

What are the leagues thoughts on any rule changes for 2020? Any thoughts on lowering the Sp starts? Or any other rule changes. I have found it is easier to fill a spot on a $250 league than it is on a $50 for whatever reason. Any thoughts on moving it to $75 or $100 moving forward. Just some thoughts.......

Yes there is or was a way. When you pay dues it shows how many years are paid or which years. Not sure where the link for dues are right now to check

Other items: just in case you didn't notice, arbitration has started and will run through November 14th. The player on each team with the most votes will be added back to the auction pool in March with the former manager receiving a $5 discount at auction. If two players on a team are tied with the most votes, whichever player was voted off by the manager lowest in the 2019 standings will get voted off.
-
I like the idea, AZ, and would be in favor of implementing it. Do you know if the site itself has a way to prepay like you're suggesting or if it's something that we'd have to collect and track separately? Anyone have strong opinions against this?
For new managers - let me know us know if anyone you know is interested in taking over a team. Otherwise, I'll make a community board post the next few days looking for new managers to take over. Tacoma, Lucien, and Lackey's are available.
-
A new owner still will need to pay $50 to take over the team but it will be for the following season

We could set the league up so that we are always pay up front for the following year. Example this year we would each pay $100 $50 for 2020 and $50 for 2021. Next year when it is time to pay dues everyone pays $50 and that is for the 2022 season. This way if a team quits the new owner will get a free year to rebuild and just be paying for the next season. Incentives teams to continue to play not tank their teams or give a new owner a year to rebuild with more confidence the league will be aroun

How do we incentivize taking over these 3 (bad) teams?

Lacky's is going to be available as well as I will not be continuing.
-
Hi Everyone, Tacoma Rainiers and Luck of Lucien are both available. It's my understanding that everyone else plans to participate next year.
I realize that I have not been the best commissioner and have asked Ballard Rangers to co-commish with my starting immediately. We need to find two new managers and I think we might have a couple people who have already expressed interest. Please let me know if that's true and let's have them join ASAP to participate this offseason.
-
So what teams are available?

BR if I pull out a win (Its going to be difficult OBB has a good team) I have three pitchers that are coming back on limited starts in Severino, Montas, and Richards. Even tho I am all for an innings limit next year I think that would impact those starts because I think the three will only go 4 innings a piece.

Zod/Onbase -- if I hold off Gar-Ber today, are either of you interested in doing a 16-start championship? Looks like it's two weeks long.

The playoff seeding correct? It doesn't matter especially since Ballard and Gar-bar have an agreement. Shouldn't 1 play 4 and 2 play 3?

Gar-Ber and I have a gentlemen's agreement this week to throw only 8 starts due to 1) the unplanned change in playoff roster settings and 2) the direction that we're moving next year
-
Commish what are your plans for next year as far as setting up SP requirements. I have been going back and forth with Niv over league settings....Here is a post:There is an option you can set for the playoffs and for H2H formats where you have a game started cap per week. In those leagues, you can only start 7 to 10 pitchers per week. Most H2H leagues have adopted these settings for the regular season and most playoff leagues have adopted these settings for the playoffs

My vote is for a 7 SP cap and have it continue into the playoffs. SLC is right, the rules for the regular season should be the same for the playoffs. Under this format he is going to run out 14 SP for one week. It is a flaw and I give him credit on the move. It is kind of a joke...This is a good league with all good guys. Just my vote and opinion. Sign of things to come...Opinions welcome....

On a different note, we're looking for two new managers to take over teams ASAP. I know a couple of managers might know someone that may be interested. Reach out to me directly if you want a buddy to join this league.
-
I'm sorry everyone, I don't know what to say about the SP rules. I wasn't aware there'd be a change. I plan to implement a 7 SP weekly cap next year unless there is a league-wide uprising. That said, we could just as easily run into the same situation during the playoffs next year if a daily cap is implemented for the playoffs.
-
Playoffs should have the same rules as a regular season matchup. If the playoff matchups that are two weeks then the starts should just double . I am good with 8 starts per week next year. Seven does not make the pitching pool very deep but would be ok with that.

Earlier in the year we talked about seven starts. I am all for 6 to 8 starts. We just need to find that happy medium. Right now elite pitcher (high payroll cost) value is diminished by too many starts. Honestly I like the 2 spots during the playoffs each day but if it was the same as the regular season that would good too. IMHO I say next year it is dropped to 7 which averages one a day.
Congrats and good luck to the playoff teams.

SLC do u know what the rule was for the playoffs last year? SLC u have to admit tho rostering over 27 sp is a tactic to exploit a issue with sp points in a H2h format that rewards a 10 sp format. The 2 sp start per day will impact your roster imbalance. It not a criticism but a wake up call that a change needs to be made.

Having a playoff setting labeled no gs cap, but then limiting to 2 sp slots IS a gs cap. Just a contradictory rule setting which is confusing and totally unnecessary.

At least in the league settings page. It should have been there all along. I just don’t understand the reason to change rules at all then? Why not keep 10 sp cap and 5 slots all season?

Under league setting/playoffs it shows Sp cap @ none 2 sp cap. It is listed in the rules that way as well. I had to look for it but it is there. Rules indicate that if the value of the sp cap is none a 2 sp cap is the format.

I don’t think the idea of a competitive league is to have 24 sp rostered and flood the sp starts to obtain an advantage. 10 starts a week was crazy in the regular season. What was the playoff sp rule last year?

The SP slots being limited to 2 per day in playoffs is news to me. I feel this is not fair since none of the league settings clarified this point. Settings showed no GS cap in playoffs.
