Clearly there is grey area here because that clause does not specify a time period for remediation. Additionally, sections I.b. and V.d. suggest that the penalty for exceeding roster limits is just the frozen roster. So it’s not 100% clear. This is why other leagues I’m in address it proactively, as I think we should. Some of my leagues use a 24-hr rule, others do not time box at all. But nothing wrong with identifying the grey area and deciding as a league the best way to address it.

Nothing wrong with BBT’s original post, it is well within the scope of his duties as commissioner. Folks suggesting otherwise are simply not reading the rules. Section I.c.: “At no time shall a team willingly go over roster and salary cap limits. If a team knowingly does this, they will face penalties at the discretion of their league’s commissioner.”

it was put out there as a reminder, not a demand, I do the same thing in the other league I run..I give reminders about things all the time, but GC does have a point if we are going to bitch about every little thing between ourselves iy's going to be a very long season. Really let's try to get along and have a good season.

One reason it matters - at any point of the season - is that you could spend big money on a waiver claim, cut only half the money you need to cut, and then wait it out in the hopes that your cuts will get claimed or else auctioned very quickly, solving the other half of the problem for you. It’s the reason a number of my leagues have a 24 hr rule. Clearly this is a valid topic of debate and it matters at any point of the season, not just once games have started.
