Glad the mookie betts trade has come full circle now with Joe Musgrove being cut. Was clearly a great strategy to trade for him in March and give up one of the best players on the planet.
-
Papi, out of curiosity do you plan on keeping Sawyer Gipson for $15 next year?
-
Good luck finalists and Rookie Card!
-
Rogue's picked a hell of a week to lay an egg. Oh well - good luck to the semifinalists!
-
Stoked. Jasson starts in Center and is batting 5th.
-
Gonna be facing Barrel with a $716 budget next week. Brutal! But nice push. Hope I can pull off the upset

Ouch π€

Well this Ohtani news is devastating.

Cut Lange by accident, can you put him back on my roster please
-
Talk about a butterfly effect! This all started when Big Papi Memories added the immortal Shea Langeliers and his corresponding drop was Arenado.
-
If I would have known about Trout's injury prior to the Judge bidding, I would have been in on him.
-
Nice. In the history of one of OttoNeu's Inaugural H2H Leagues. this Judge auction/roster cut follow up/and to be WC/Auctions of the cuts has been most interesting. Congrats. That's the way to play!
-
The Judge results were AWEsome!!! I sincerely tip my hat to you (and MarkQuis). I am really curious as to your $44 in cuts. Absolutely no idea how you will do it within the rules. I am sure you have this planned out.
-
Judge at $30ish+ is a nice 2024 piece, and if you got the salary space a nice 2023 play off gamble. My bet is one one of the two with salary space. I would have to clear $60 of space
-
π donβt miss out
-
Youβre right probably not worth it. Who even knows if heβll play again this season..
-
Correction. One team can bid w/o cuts. Another can bid with minor cuts. two others with, IMO, rather deep cuts. And the other 7 with devastating roster clearing cuts.
-
Might be your only chance to get him this low. Bid away
-
??? there is only one team that can bid w/o cuts. And only one other that can bid with deep cuts.
-
I imagine there will be a lot of fireworks for the Judge bidding war. See what I did there?

well I tried :)

4-3*
*while outscoring the league's lone undefeated and second-highest scoring team by almost 300 points
-
Fondly remembering that mookie betts trade with the implication that Gonzilla's team would be unstoppable, yet here they are at 4-3. Periodic remind that we all know way less than we think we know.
-
Maybe I'm overevaluating Ruiz, got him in many leagues, sorry for that, let me know next time...haha
-
Really did me dirty Big Papi, I defended you in that trade and then you went and sniped Ruiz from me π
-
That is the only reason, sorry if it offended you, I just thought about the guy who just made that trade. Man I just want to have fun in Ottoneu.
-
I think he was just trying to lighten the mood a bit :)
-
What are you hoping to gain here by posting this? I have no other context of that other league and the underlying teams. So I don't care. I've moved on.
-
A trade has been accepted in Chicks Dig the Longball (183) between USS Mariner and The Stone Crabs π¦ π.
USS Mariner gives up:
Mark Canha $10
Mookie Betts $63
$55
How about this?
The Stone Crabs π¦ π gives up:
Will Benson $2
Bobby Witt Jr. $13
I guess this is going to generate a lot of posts in that league.....haha. Still feeling a little bad for not considering all factors in my trade, what is done is done b

Blood type is RH Pos, I have cholesterol, my next doc's exam is next month, married with two boys and five grandkids, old Papi who loves the game trying to have fun playing Ottoneu without any hastle. Maybe it was a selfish trade, but I swear on my grankids head that I didn't know Gonzilla won the championship, but I still think, except maybe for the loan, that we both got what we were looking for. Gurriel Jr is nothing in that trade for me (injury prone), he will probably drop him
-
Reminder to everyoneβ¦your team must be able to field a LEGAL ROSTER. This means every starter must be a current MLB player. This is really important for a head to head league. If you notice someone without a legal roster, please let me know. Iβm going to try to be better at trying to curb this during the season. Thanks.
-
To all of the sincere offers, please know that Soto is not being traded with a $75 loan. Close.....
-
There is no point in discussing this any more since you clearly are not open minded with the concerns raised with the execution of a trade like this 2 days after the draft involving an owner who elected not to participate and 2 of the players he's acquiring were available to be auctioned. If you kept those guys, I dont care if you trade them and this discussion doesn't occur. BPM elected not to participate when they were available to build his team for 2023.
-
Thanks for advice, it's true I don't shop around my big names enough. I'm in so many leagues that I don't have or take the time to do that, lesson learned
-
Everyone has the opportunity to trade. Some managers are active in the trade market and others like to sit tight. I went for it all last year, won, and still built a good team for this year. This is an arms race. Make a deal to improve instead impeding an owner who has.
-
Also, I don't think anyone was colluding, and it's not my place to judge how many leagues someone is in. But being in as many as BPM is in, I can see trying to get things done quickly just for the sake of the others, so I get it. You can't realistically go back and forth on trades in 100+ leagues
-
To Hanks point, there's just as real of a chance that nobody in the trade produces, or only Musgrove does and BPM ends up on top. He still has a lot of pieces.
But to the larger point, if Mookie does go off and win MVP, maintains 2B eligibility, is an easy keep and Gonzilla cruises to another championship, then this is the kind of trade that can make one reconsider rejoining the league.
I don't need to win to have fun, I think my best finish here is 2nd in 4 years, but
-
I'm conflicted, because yeah it's likely a lopsided trade, and could likely screw with my plans to contend for the playoffs this year. However, I won't veto, as overall that's worse than having a bad trade. I'm not wishing it, but what if Mookie's hip acts up, BPM flips Musgrove for another top-20 prospect (Gonzilla isn't the only one with prospect capital), and suddenly the trade looks wayyy different. @BPM, you might get better returns if you shop around more, but that's not veto-worthy to me
-
Friendly reminder that we all have to function as a league after this is over. It's just fantasy baseball.
-
This argument doesnβt make sense to me. The site literally sends an email to other managers when someone updates their trade block. Papi probably got the email, liked those guys, and sent an offer. What exactly is the point of the trade block if that scenario sounds weird?

They are words. They can sit with you however you want them to. On Tuesday evening, I looked at your trade block and it had multiple guys on it. I don't remember the exact number but I know Wong, Rosario, and Marsh were on it based on my memory. I understand changes can/will occur. It is STRANGE to me all of those other guys were removed to only the 3 you currently traded. When nothing changed in terms of your team composition or injuries to the removed players. T
-
Grissoms and Smoak throwing out words like Fishy and Strange donβt sit right with me
-
Yes, please veto it so everyone is happy except us two
-
No one has said you know him. It isn't on you. You were offered the trade. I'd want an offer to come my way like that. You are missing the point of the discussion/frustration of the people speaking out. This has nothing to do with the fact that you wont the league last year and now just acquired a top 10 baseball player. It has to do with a team basically pissing on everyone else's off season work and auction draft because he wanted to "dump" betts salary the SECOND DAY after the
-
Lol do you guys think I know BPM?! If so, thatβs hilarious.
Iβm done with this let the veto process work ππ»
-
I am not saying anyone is intentionally trying to collude. I don't know either of you personally and won't make that judgement from afar. BPM, 38 leagues??? How many did you win??? My wife would file for divorce if I was in 5. Anyway, the problem is this trade does not look good for the spirit of the league, intentional or not. As an owner it's your right to trade as you wish but also have the responsibility to not slash and burn the league while doing it. Let the Veto process work.
-
You had more than those 3 guys on your trade block. Most of them not well sought after guys and it shrunk down to just those 3 just prior to the trade execution. I find that to be strange also.
-
I never said you arent a decent guy or "not above the board". I also don't care that you had 6 auctions that night that is your problem not mine. You made a choice to join this league, vote (or not vote) in the draft date polls etc. Those prospects were free agents and could have been put up for auction during your first and second nominations. You would have had the ability to acquire them. You have $14 available. My issue is with the timing after the draft and lack of participati

Isnβt that the goal of the trade block help me understand lol
