The Mascara Snake's trade block has been updated!
-
If there are no objections, once Pedro Severino clears waivers I'll void the $1 cap penalty for Balboni Sandwich so it's as if he picked up a $1 player in the last round of the auction. Honest mistake.

Seems I went a little overboard on hitters, looking to trade low level hitting for low level pitching.

Welcome Chap!

We have a new owner to replace Ryan (of Team Flynn). His name is Chap and he's going to auction with us on Sunday. Welcome to the league!

Everybody else seems to be a go. Remember that some of our leaguemates have early work wake-ups the next morning, so let's do what we can now to speed the auction on Sunday night (e.g., go to the "Auction Draft" page and fill your auction watchlist).

There's only one owner I've yet to hear from regarding availability for the auction. I initially gave him until tonight (Wednesday) to respond but I'm extending the deadline ever so slightly before moving to replace him.

I started a league Slack channel. It will be much better for discussion than the message board. Send me your Slack details and I will invite you to join.
-
Yes I like the communication I'm this league. There are proxy drafters on slack if it comes to that.
-
Two missing owners. That pretty much ruins the draft and the season. Fortunately, our league will be awesome to make up for it.
-
I'm sorry I have had a couple busy days. The l my loud sound effect in the draft room is a loud cash register when an auction is over. Everything elase is a little beep. The other thing about the draft was the number of owner who thought the 400 dollar budget was just for the draft. Its not! It is for the whole season. This other league has two shitty commissioner. They started and finished the auction without two owners. I think at least one of those teams bass been abandoned!
-
Nominations do not snake.
-
I'm going to share co-commish status with Jason (Monongahela Monster) unless there are any objections. He's been super proactive in getting the auction date established & it'll help to have another commish-level person on-hand during the auction(s).

Yo, Bulbous: thanks for the input. I'd also like to know if nominations snake.

Interesting. I wonder if there is a way we can prompt owners who are on deck. I think it is important that everyone nominate players....especially in the later period when there are more $1-$3 players. Do nominations snake or maintain the same order?
-
I did my first Ottoneu draft sunday. The commish and the league itself suck...lol. I wont go into all that went wrong but I will say the one thing he did right. He disabled the kicking teams out who dont put a player up for bid. The draft room lacks sound prompts to let you know its your turn.
-
I'm excited, too! On your suggestion, I added about a dozen players to my auction watchlist (and plan to add more). I recommend others do the same.

I am excited to finally get underway. I clicked on the auction draft link to see how the draft room works. The order of nominations is already set. I played with the watchlist and all seems pretty intuitive. If we are concerned about time, I can tell you from past auction leagues that the biggest delay is owners who are not ready to nominate a player when it is their turn. Preloading the watchlist for this purpose seems like a good idea.
-
I am also good for the times mentioned. I am on a similar page as Chris where the earlier the start time the better, but I am flexible and can make any of the times said.
-
Can anybody *not* make the auction time as posted? I'll be individually messaging folks today who haven't provided input.

Okay. I've set the draft for next Sunday, March 11th, at 7 PM. I understand that some folks have conflicts with the time: some can't go earlier than 7 PM; and at least one has an early work wake-up the next morning. If we go 3-4+ hours the first night and swing right into a 2ish-hour session the next night, that should take care of most (if not all) of the auction.

If we could do it any earlier on the 11th (maybe 5 or 6?) I would greatly appreciate it. If not, I can swing 7, just have to be up at 4:30am for work.
-
7pm start on the 11th works well for me as well as finishing it up on the 12th
-
Starting @7 on the 11th and finishing the 12 works great for me. I have those nights off...plus the 18th is the wifes birthday!
-
Starting at 7 on the 11th and finishing on the 12th would work for me as well.

I am game for a late Sunday--start at 7 and get as much done as we can. I am available on the evening of Monday the 12th as well to wrap up.
-
Could we shoot for 4-5 hours on Sun 3/11 and then come right back on Mon 3/12 starting at 8-9p range for the final 1-2 hours?

What time could you guys draft until on the 11th? I could go until 12am without an issue. If we started at 7pm hopefully, that wouldn't leave us with a lot of the draft left. Maybe we could do something during the week at that point? I think a good option would be to figure out the time slot we want for the 11th and then play it by ear. It's possible we wouldn't even need another night.

My apologies, but I will likely face difficulties starting before 7ish EST on both the 11th and the 18th.

I bet if we start at say 5 or 6 on the 11th we could bang out most of the draft on the first night and only need a couple hours at most on a second night for the end of draft picks. If that were the case we could restart on the 18th before Clown Baby's other draft.
-
Excited for this auction! March 11 works for me. I have another draft at 730PM EST on March 18, which leads me to ask what time we planned on starting these?

Sundays*
-
The 11th and 18th of March work well for me. Also, as mentioned in an earlier post, I would be open to a shorter stint on a weeknight (or two) if not everyone is able to do both Saturdays
-
That leaves one extra weekend free after the draft dates before the season starts in case we run into technical difficulties.
-
I propose consecutive Sunday nights: March 11 and March 18 as the spillover draft dates.
-
I moved the draft date to later in March. The February date was always a placeholder, as is the current date (March 20th, I believe). I understand from talking to folks and reading the message board here that a date closer to the season (i.e., late March) + a spillover date is the preferred route. Does that work for other folks? Now we have to zero in on a particular day.

It seems like we are all on board for a two day draft, especially if it is going to take 6-8 hours. I see that the 17th doesn't work for a few people. Is the 16th and 18th out as well?
Also, I am open to 3 hours during the week for two or three evenings.

Iβd also vote to not have the draft this Saturday as I wonβt be able to make it. Iβd prefer something closer to the start of the season too. Maybe 3/17 or 3/18?

Unfortunately, Saturday (the 17th) is also bad for me. Are we thinking of pushing the draft to a different weekend?
-
Next Saturday is bad for me, as well, but I agree it would behoove us to bear down on a mutually acceptable date pretty soon.

Is the 17th the real draft date? Saturdays really suck for me and that seems way to early.

Sorry all, I somehow missed the doodle post but just filled it out now. Would not be opposed to having it on a Sunday though.
