Here's my argument for two matchups per week. With a 21 week season and Covid lurking, we could have some wacky weeks. Doubling the opportunities to take some randomness out of the equation could help keep the better teams where they belong. The one thing I hate about Fantasy Football is what I'm trying to avoid.

I prefer one matchup a week.

either way

I prefer one matchup per week, but it's no big deal either way.

Either is ok with me

But I wouldn't object to either option.

I have mixed feelings about it. It reduces the luck factor a bit, but it also reduces the head to head "feeling". It feels a little bit less like a series of individual matchups and a little bit more like season long FG points.

I havenβt changed anything so weβre still at 2. I like it better. Anyone else?
-
Are we going back to one matchup per week, or staying with 2 like last year?

Let the free agency insanity begin!!!! Tha ks all for a good draft!

Just a heads up that the draft is this Sunday at 7p EST

Following teams are a yes for 7p: Myself, Poor Little Rabbits, Rogueβs Island, Sandlot, & Bozzs

March 21st it is! Ok, next step is for 7p EST start. We do have a couple west coast folks so hopefully they can do it
-
Sorry, for not responding earlier. 21st works for me. I'd prefer the earlier start, but the date works. Thanks
-
Iβd vote for a 7pm start. No biggie if itβs 8 though.

Waiting on Sandlot but 11 of us have all selected March 21st at 8p. I can also move that time to 7p if anyone wants to start early.

I will allow the two new owners to make any cuts they want without penalty
-
He needs to go here, find his name, and claim his team back https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/claimteams
-
I was worried about that. I need his username
-
Hey Commish, can you send the Naturals owner a link to how he can renew at this point. He missed the 1/31 date, but he wants to continue in the league
-
We're heading into year 4 of a league that started with 16 teams so some of those original prices were skewed. Arb and regular increases have pushed us into higher inflation probably a year or two earlier than usual. Also, I think owners have seen that perhaps reputations have outpaced actual production and some names that previously commanded high salaries have been let go. Its all good stuff!
-
Maybe it's me but it seems like there are a lot more cuts this year. The arb increases over the last few years played a big part in my some of my decisions

Another reminder that cuts are due tomorrow and if you haven't paid up, get er done. I'll put together a draft poll shortly to find a good time for all of us.

A heads up. Cuts are due by this Sunday 1/31 and if any of you degenerates, like me, haven't paid yet then get that done by Sunday as well. Thanks!

3/3 In the trade with Acuna, I not only am getting Winker and Sano, but also $30 extra to spend in the auction. That (if applied to only one player) is a very good player. Like a George Springer. If I were to win Springer in the auction for that $30 and the end result of the haul I got for Freeman is Springer, Winker, and Sano, I assume this wouldn't bother you so much? If you'd like, I'd be happy to take this discussion further via PM or phone call if you'd like.
-
2/3 In the offer I made to you, you would have gotten Freeman - plus and extra $10 to spend in the auction. That could be used to add a player (to use players on our rosters) the likes of a Jorge Polanco, or a Luke Voit. So the resulting trade is Freeman + Polanco/Voit for Xander and Devers.
-
1/3 Sandlot - I understand your concern, and if these were in-season trades where often cap space is exchanged to balance the cap implications for each team, you would be absolutely correct that I would be applying a very different standard between what I asked from you and what I got from Acuna in exchange for Freeman. However, it is the offseason. And while you are correct that I'm not "concerned" about cap space, the cap space difference is always the unspoken "PTBNL" in a
-
In a vacuum, I would too. However, my roster was filled with a bunch of $10ish 6 points a game type guys and while depth is great, points don't accrue on the bench.
-
I could be the high man in the room on Winker though.

I don't think it's a bad deal at all for either side, just wanted to point out that it wasn't obviously one sided in favor of Freeman. There's a lot of value in h2h in consolidating talent to roster more arms, but in a vacuum Id want Sano, Winker, and the cap space.

I agree. However that Sano K rate is scarrrrrrrrry. I basically sold many multiple years of control for those two for maybe two seasons of Freeman and hoping he continues to produce at Trout levels.
-
I thought Sano and Winker were a slight overpay for a $48 Freeman. Not a trade I would object to at all.

I'm not sure what you're looking for. I assume Derek put feelers out to multiple teams and was waiting for the best deal he could get for a player he was clearly moving on from. He made me an offer and I countered. He accepted. Are my players better than yours? No, not really. Are my players cheaper and probably a better value going forward? Absolutely. I was willing to take on a high-cost player for two guys that were redundant for me.
-
I thought it would be pointless. Now Rogue accepts a trade for Freeman for Sano and Winkler. It might be just me, but that is a far cry from Devers and Bogaerts and the rich (Acuna) gets richer. I know Rogue wasn't worried about salary as the trade proposed to me would have increased his overall salary. This is just very frustrating to me based on what I believed Rogue was looking to receive back for Freeman.
