• I believe Meadows is still ahead of Goldschmidt on the leader board for what that's worth. Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that I will be leaving this league. I wanted to try it out, but I really just cannot keep up with the pace of a daily lineup change league. I give you all a lot of credit for the way that you do. • In Fangraphs's recent trade value rankings, Meadows got an honorable mention and Goldie was not listed. So I'm not sure I agree with the "real world" point below. Moreover, the real world doesn't have a universal hard cap of which Goldie would take up about 1/7 next year (and Meadows would take up ~1/100) which makes it really different from Ottoneu. Hopefully all of this dislike for Meadows leads to teams not allocating dollars to raise his salary next year.

• I agree with Gracie. In my opinion the trade would never be made in the "real world". The trade would be voided by the Commissioner to guard the integrity of the game/protect the field. Look what the D-backs got for Goldie: Luke Weaver was a 1st-round pick in 2014 & the Cardinals’ Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2016. • I think this trade is valid Meadows is a great value for this kind of league and the difference and Goldie and Meadows rest of season will be half a point at best.

• I totally agree with TDMP. This is a reasonable bet by both teams. I agree that Goldie will be better than Meadows for the rest of the year-- Meadows has faded after a great start. But I'm way out of it and Meadows at $3 is a bargain for next year. And there's basically no chance anyone is keeping Goldie at $50+ for next year. So I think the deal is fair, but, whatever, if people don't think it is, it can be vetoed.

• My rationale: Goldie is probably just a short-term rental. And Meadows is having a better year than Goldie, so far. I'm betting on Goldie being Goldie the rest of the season and reducing some lineup log-jam in my OF. No offense Mutuals, but I'm betting against Meadows finishing like he started over the first two months. And I have to do something to try and catch Zimmer or I will never hear the end of it at family gatherings! Now Gracie, let me get back to work!!!

• I'll explain my thinking: I'm out of it this year. Despite having Goldie on the trade block for months, I've received zero offers. I'd much much much rather have Meadows at $3 than Goldie for $56 going forward. It's not even close.
