I think Niv is going to post something soon on the community board about how this season will work. I assume the games/innings maximums will be scaled down based on the number of games to be played. So, the question for now is does anyone see any compelling reason not to draft on Sunday at 4pm ET? Hey, it is a good reason to stay home and practice social distancing skills. Looking for any thoughts any of you may have.
-
Hi all. First, I hope you are all safe and healthy. So it looks like MLB will be suspending operations indefinitely, which means we have no idea when the season will start or what the season will look like. That said, I think we should go ahead with the draft as planned for two reasons: (1) it is on everyone's calendar, and it will likely be very difficult to find another workable day/time, and (2) once we have completed the draft, trades/FA pickups are permitted.
-
The two adds that just happened tonight are a glitch from unprocessed waiver claims now being processed. There’s a note from Niv on the community board. He says to use the commissioner tools to reverse them.
-
Hearing no objections, the draft date is now set for Sunday, March 15 at 4 pm ET.

Ha. Thanks. I work 530am-130pm. Then 930pm-530am (Central times) Monday morning on Sundays.

3/15 at 4PM ET works for me.

We have a firm poliçy against encroaching on nap times. Let's aim for March 15, 4 PM ET. Any objections to that time and date?

On Sunday’s, either 3 or 4 eastern work best for me. Any later you’re going into my nap time. Any earlier and I’ll be at work.
-
Ahhh...I was trying to figure that out all morning!

I am out of town March 1. How about Sunday, March 15 at 3pm ET?
-
A LATER rather than earlier draft is better. Gives us more evaluation time. 3/22 or 3/15 is good. FWIW = for what it's worth.

I like the idea of a Sunday afternoon draft and am available every Sunday in March. BTW, what the hell does FWIW mean?

Ok, if not March 8, how about March 1, 3 pm CST?

I think both Don Zimmer and myself will be traveling on the 8th so that wouldn't be ideal. I can make pretty much any other weekend or weeknight work. PST time on our end FWIW.

I am on the East Coast. Prefer to draft on 3/22 or 3/15 but can live with the 8th if that's everyone' choice. Sundays are best.

Appreciate the draft date feedback thus far. Based on the first set of responses, I'll propose Sunday, March 8 at 3pm ET. For those folks who have yet to respond, could you please let the league know whether this date & time work by EOD Monday, Jan 27? @Commish: does this approach work for you?
-
We have a contingent of East Coasters too

Thanks Napoli. I'm in the Central and know at least 3 others are in the Central too. I know we also have at least 3 West Coasters in the league. I'm fine with afternoons. Sundays work way better than Saturdays for me. Thanks!

Hey folks, given how fast schedules fill up, I’d like to get a draft date on the books. I’m going to propose the weekend of March 7-8. How about 12pm ET on the 7th? I’ll be drafting from the central time zone. Do we have folks spanning from the eastern time zone to pacific? Anyone overseas to accommodate?

In my opinion the veto period is fine as is.

I would prefer to keep the veto period consistent with standard rules (48 hours). I believe the veto plays a very important role in that it offers a "check" against collusion, highly egregious trades, and other unfair practices. I think shortening this period inhibits the veto from performing it's very purpose. 48 hours seems reasonable to me.
-
I would be up for reducing the time.

It is two days, which is pretty standard. It gives people time to veto, if they choose. I can look into changing it if others would like it revisited.

Seconded!!

Yo commish! Can we reduce the time it takes to process trades? I'm too impatient for this 3 day nonsense.

Big start to the trade season!

Hi, I’m Chris, I’m taking over the New York Mutuals. Since I’m nowhere near New York, I’ll be changing the name in the off season. As well as some other things. This looks like a good league and I’m happy to join.

The vacated teams should be open to the general public to pick up.
