• Ok, 19th is good for me. Re: slow auction: I have never participated in one, to be honest, not certain I find it appealing: 12 players on auction at a time; each auction last 24 hours; the bidding works like Ebay, where you are notified when your bid is no longer the highest; bidding time is extended another 24 hours if the top bidder is outbid within the last six hours of the original 24 period.

• I received a question about the current auction date...now is a good time to revisit the issue. If the lockout continues past March 5, I think we should consider moving the auction date. I know everyone would prefer to draft with free agency, and rosters, as complete as possible; and though it is possible that free agency will move quickly after the lockout, it might be prudent to allow two weeks between the end of the lockout and the draft date. Any thoughts?

• They are automatically keepers, dog. Whoever you don’t cut is a keeper. You won’t get a chance to cut anyone you traded for before the deadline. Doesn’t mean you can’t cut em. Just means there’s a cap penalty if you do.

• The keeper deadline was extended for keeping the players you want for your team, until Feb. 15th. The deadline to keep your team as an owner was not extended, expired on January 31st with a ten day grace period. If you want to play, PAY!

• Looks like, even though the deadline to renew was not explicitly extended, there is still a built-in grace period of 10 days before teams are made available for claim, and that grave period is 10 days after the keeper deadline. Which, since the keeper deadline was extended to Feb 15, must have created a de facto extension for the renewal deadline until Feb 25. So, still time to renew!

• Ok. I suppose it makes sense to hope for some resolution of the lockout before scheduling. But also: getting four hours on the calendar in March is not always easy because two of those weekends are Spring Break for our kids. I will reach out to the league again in mid-to-late-January, see how the lockout is developing, see how schedules look.
