Thanks Mundys. The stars aligned for that night!

I’ve been in this league for six years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone clock a 282 point day before. My lord. Congrats to Mudville on that huge day yesterday (and having Paul Skenes for $12)
-
probably beginner's luck but i'll gladly accept an early payout :)
-
Congratulations are in order for the Isotopes on their fusion-like start. Out of curiosity I looked back at prior years to see how their start compared. Last year at this time Mudville was atop the league with 4248.8 points. I was dead last at 2885! In 2022, I had to double check as Taxman was in first. Oh, yeah, that's right, he was in first, but with only 3416 points! In 2021 Foot was in first with 3902 and he was also there with a whooping 4742 in 2019! Good luck all

I think if you put Puk in a SP slot, and he starts, it will be fine. Yahoo will not let you put a RP in a SP slot, but this site will.

All pitchers can be put in either lineup slot, SP or RP. But as you noted they only score points when they’re in the slot of how they are actually used that day.
-
certainly there are exceptions to the rule if a guy is clearly an SP - something that has been discussed for months - yet still doesn't have SP eligibility?
-
i hope so. it would be asinine if that didn't happen.
-
I suspect that the day before AJ Puk starts his first game he will be changed to SP/RP

Is there a slot for poorly. My pitchers are continuously used poorly.

iirc, pitchers only get stats if they're in the right slot (i.e. a pitcher who is RP/SP only gets SP points if he's in an SP slot)...wondering how someone like AJ Puk is going to be handled - listed as an RP, but very clearly an SP this season...anyone have ideas?

Yes, the banner at the top of this page declares the draft is on Tuesday March 19th at 5:30 Pacific

did we come up with a date/time yet?
-
LOLOLOLOL Yes 8:30pm EST please.
-
Chris - 8:30pm would mean the drafts starts at 11:30 pm for those on the East Coast. I know you are new but I am sure you read that we operate with the Best Coast time as the default. If you meant 8:30 Eastern, I'm sure that can be accomplished.

I'm down for the 19th as long as it's after 8:30pm

either works for this guy
-
It's fine by me. Keep in mind that the game on the 20th starts at 3am or something, so when the draft gets done we have to start things immediately.

Either works for me - happy to go with the 19th if that works best for everyone else
-
So far it looks like the 19th is the best bet. Anyone else want to chime in?

As part of being a new manager and my inevitable hazing... oh, sorry, "Welcoming", I choose whatever works best for the crowd. I can make almost every evening work. Holding this before the season begins does seem like a good idea too.

No real preference as to any particular date but would prefer we do it before the first game (on the 20th)
-
re: Auction night
Will be on vacation the proposed week...Spring Training games, of course! I will be attending a game on Monday night, so that will not work for me. I think I can make Tuesday night work, but would prefer Sunday the 24th or later or before the 16th.

Good news all! Tim (All Bets are Off) sent me two referrals for new managers this morning. I have been in contact with them throughout the day. Chris will be taking over the 405+90 team and Matt will be taking over Slizz's squad. I will be transferring ownership momentarily to get it in before tonight's keeper deadline. Be sure to haze (I mean welcome) these fine, upstanding, new managers to the league. Thank you again Tim for being a savior and helping us keep the chow line moving. Ahoy matey!

went and used a CC, but i really hope they figure out this fuckery before next season.
-
i am still baffled as to why otto needs my location for me to pay. i've never seen such nonsense for a fantasy site
-
I get the concern about using Paydala. But I just paid for it on my CC, so if there is any f***ery, I can just dispute the charges. YMMV.

to be clear, i'm not undecided about returning. i very much want to return, but i'm just not going to hand my bank account info over to some rando company i've never heard of.
-
Hello folks, I’ve spoken to the 3 managers who have not renewed their franchise. 2 managers are out and Tree is undecided. After the Wednesday 11:59pm EST deadline, ottoneu will likely mark these teams as abandoned and available to be claimed by public league managers. Very sorry to see good managers leave. Unfortunately, ottoneu's Paydala transition has been less than optimal. If you know of any recruits who would be interested in taking over these teams, please have them email me or SZ. Thanks
-
Guys - I think I'm out. Too busy at work, too sketchy of a system taking my info and money. Great league, great managers. I'll miss it. If you can't find someone to take over before the keeper deadline, I'll do keepers.
-
i saw that previously as well. it's more the bigger picture. simply put, we know almost nothing about this company. why would i hand them my location data, much less my financial data. they don't NEED my location data, yet they require it, so that lends to immediate suspicion. I'm no luddite (i've had a computer my house since 1981 and been online since 1983), and i'm just not going to simply hand my info off because some fantasy baseball site tells me i have no other options.
-
@Forth Worth: Not sure if this makes you feel any better, but I did find this resource when googling about it. https://community.ottoneu.com/t/paydala-sign-up/13448/3
-
i'm happy to send someone money via something more established, but i'm a no go on paydala. if i can use paypal or venmo without my location turned on, paydala doesn't need it either. we're talking about a company with less than 10 employees that doesn't even have a wikipedia page. They're a payment company without a true CFO (they've got a "consulting CFO" who got his MBA at for-profit university), and there are so many red flags to me that i'm not interested.
-
Just signed up on Paydala. Boy that was sketchy. Looking forward to some inexplicable charges incoming in a few weeks. Not sure why Ottoneu would work with an unfamiliar and sketchy payment processor if it is trying to grow the platform.
Do we need to be concerned about this in the small print: "Inactivity Fee (charged monthly after six months of no customer-initiated financial transactions): $2.95"?
Surely they're not gonna charge our card every month startin
-
Not sure but think it may be a requirement for the higher dollar leagues that have prize payouts. After reading through the Community threads, supposedly they won't charge Ottoneu users any monthly fees.
-
Why does Paydala require location settings to be turned on? I've never encountered a site I wanted to use that required it....
-
Interestingly, my work laptop won't even let me connect to Paydala as it requires location settings to be turned on and those are turned off by default for me. I'll have to do this at home. ha ha
-
That's what caught my eye...if no transactions for 6 months, it appears they start charging a monthly fee
-
Re: Paydala I did, but closed my eyes and trust to luck. Seems to be ok. Bonus points for not being PayPal. I'll let you know if odd charges start showing up on my card!

-
Gentlemen. Don't forget to pay your dues before the month is over.
I have a slew of market valued bats I would be willing to trade. These bats would all go for over market value if cut. I am forever short of arms so please consider offering me starting pitching.

Vaughn Grisham

Still kind of stunned at how crazy close this finished...
-
There were a million reasons I came up short, but Bell v. Abreu wasn't one of the them (I'd already used my 162 1B games). Using 25 fewer innings was an obvious failure on my end. I'm putting the blame on Blackmon and Tovar going 0-9 at Coors on Sunday when a single base hit from either would've changed the result. Perhaps the biggest heartbreaker: I believe my team was in first place until the bottom of the 9th of the last game being played, and then, with one out, Michael Harris doubled.
-
In a roto league if you start one batter over another on the last day, you are not going to know if they moved the OBP/AVE/SLG needle. Here, you can look at each player and know. The decision to start Josh Bell, who didn't play, over Jose Abreu won't haunt Kevin, that much I am certain. Foot has magic powers. SZ
