Seconded. Motion passes. Hahaha

Perhaps we could change the name of the league to "Quitting the Mafia is Easier"?

Quitting the mafia is easier than this. LOL I logged in one time last year. I paid the $25 and took a spot to help out my friend Tim. I really appreciate you letting me play, but Ottoneu is an awful fantasy platform in my opinion. ESPN does a great job of combining my fantasy football, baseball and basketball teams on one app and site. Once again, thank you for letting me play for a season.
-
405/90's last login was April 19th, and he does not intend to submit arbitration, so unfortunately the $25 will be forfeited. Hopefully we can find a replacement manager before the keeper deadline January 31st.
-
Will the 405 and 90 perform Arbitration duties before he bequeaths his team? If not committmit to do so please ask him to do so.

Hello all. 405 and 90 will not be returning next season. If you know anyone who might be interested in taking over the team this winter, please let us know.
-
congrats to Puddle of Mudville and thanks to everyone for welcoming a newbie into your ranks and letting me jump out to an early lead to give me hope - let's do it again next year
-
Had a blast even finishing in the (lower) middle of the table. Shout out to my friend and new member Jason (Springfield Isotopes) for making a heck of a run at the crown in his first season before he faltered down the stretch. Call it rookie jitters.
-
Wait Foot lost? I had $50 on them! Kidding aside, grats Mudville for taking down the Goliath!

Did you hear that sound? Loud cracking noises? It was Hell freezing over 🧊 Congratulation to Mudville for ending the Foot dynasty at six. Foot maxed out all his positions and made a game of it again at the very end but Mud is the 👑

gotcha - i'm trying to pick up all the tricks of the trade; seems like a smart way to take advantage of the rules
-
I also should have mentioned, when you cut a player, you have to wait 30 days to pick him up again, so it's not like it is constant thing happening. But during that 30 days, someone else could put that player up for auction. The team that cut the player could not bid, but once the bidding is done, all of the salary is now off of the cutting team's payroll.

Say you have a player for $20. If you cut him, you are penalized half of the salary, so now only $10 counts against your salary cap. If you pick him up and cut him again, no only $5 counts toward you total, and so on. Now, if someone claims that player off of waivers, 100% of the salary comes of of that teams "books". So, I just picked up a buck by picking up and cutting Turnbull, for example.

granted i'm new to this league and format, but what's the strategy Mudville is using where they add someone through a free agent auction or waivers and then immediately cut them? they've done it several times and i don't understand the benefit - whatever the reason, it's working since they're in first, but can someone tell me what i'm missing here?
-
I inherited Ozzie Albies for $2 and have ridden that wave to its crest...and then down some to his current salary of $42
-
Alonzo from June 2018 is oldest Not the same, is Yu Darvish, I drafted in 2017, but he spent June 2018 thru 2022 on Zen's and Never Bunt's roster before coming home.

I just traded away AAron Nola who I drafted back in March of 2017. Does anyone else have someone on their squad from the very first draft or was he the last?

hmm..i guess it's basically 50% of salary, rounded up
-
And one more thing...after 30 days, you can pick them back up, cut them again and only half half of half count against. Unless someone else picks up that player, then your team is no longer responsible for any salary.

Cap penalty is half the salary, round up if its an odd number. $10 would be $5. $9 would be $5.

is there a place where i can see each player's cap penalty if i cut them/or perhaps a formula to figure it out on my own?

Thanks Mundys. The stars aligned for that night!

I’ve been in this league for six years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone clock a 282 point day before. My lord. Congrats to Mudville on that huge day yesterday (and having Paul Skenes for $12)
-
probably beginner's luck but i'll gladly accept an early payout :)
-
Congratulations are in order for the Isotopes on their fusion-like start. Out of curiosity I looked back at prior years to see how their start compared. Last year at this time Mudville was atop the league with 4248.8 points. I was dead last at 2885! In 2022, I had to double check as Taxman was in first. Oh, yeah, that's right, he was in first, but with only 3416 points! In 2021 Foot was in first with 3902 and he was also there with a whooping 4742 in 2019! Good luck all

I think if you put Puk in a SP slot, and he starts, it will be fine. Yahoo will not let you put a RP in a SP slot, but this site will.

All pitchers can be put in either lineup slot, SP or RP. But as you noted they only score points when they’re in the slot of how they are actually used that day.
-
certainly there are exceptions to the rule if a guy is clearly an SP - something that has been discussed for months - yet still doesn't have SP eligibility?
-
i hope so. it would be asinine if that didn't happen.
-
I suspect that the day before AJ Puk starts his first game he will be changed to SP/RP

Is there a slot for poorly. My pitchers are continuously used poorly.

iirc, pitchers only get stats if they're in the right slot (i.e. a pitcher who is RP/SP only gets SP points if he's in an SP slot)...wondering how someone like AJ Puk is going to be handled - listed as an RP, but very clearly an SP this season...anyone have ideas?

Yes, the banner at the top of this page declares the draft is on Tuesday March 19th at 5:30 Pacific

did we come up with a date/time yet?
-
LOLOLOLOL Yes 8:30pm EST please.
-
Chris - 8:30pm would mean the drafts starts at 11:30 pm for those on the East Coast. I know you are new but I am sure you read that we operate with the Best Coast time as the default. If you meant 8:30 Eastern, I'm sure that can be accomplished.

I'm down for the 19th as long as it's after 8:30pm

either works for this guy
-
It's fine by me. Keep in mind that the game on the 20th starts at 3am or something, so when the draft gets done we have to start things immediately.

Either works for me - happy to go with the 19th if that works best for everyone else
-
So far it looks like the 19th is the best bet. Anyone else want to chime in?
