I added Jake Cronenworth, but I am unable to move him into my lineup. Any thoughts as to why?

Pooch and Tooch is looking to build for next year. Our only untouchable is Acuna but everyone else is available. We have a surplus of P and looking to get younger and cheaper. Send us messages and offers and we can work things out.

While the Dream’s dream ended with Chris Sale, the dream doesn’t have to end for you! Pretty much anyone can be had for the right price.

Thanks for the link.

The Ottoneu message boards are often helpful for these types of questions - I found this, feel free to have a look: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/what-if-the-mlb-season-doesn-t-finish/7677

Out of curiosity, is there a procedure for dealing with a season that gets shut down or uneven distribution of games played? I can’t see anything that says how the site will handle those issues or what the minimum threshold is for a “season.”
-
Sorry for the delayed update on the Titans owner - we did get a new owner; thanks to Sonic's brother for being willing to step up and take over the team for the season! Feel free to introduce yourself if you'd like.
-
False alarm. Lol.
-
And just like that the repeat champ is without Scherzer and Verlander. Time to prove we are NOT a buncha fuckin amateurs!
-
looks like we have a new owner for the Titans? or the old owner came back?

Thanks, Sonic - will send you a private message with details!

My friend passed but my brother said he would take over for the year. His email address is: levi_w_98@yahoo.com. Please forward on any instructions to him. I forgot what the process was for getting a team set up.
-
In terms of the lineup question, Pandaman checked and confirmed that commissioners do not have the ability to change lineups for owners in any situation, so the team is going to sit as is (empty lineup) until a new owner takes over.
-
Sonic, any luck on the friend taking over?
-
Yes, probably shame on us but that team has some talent and it is not out of the realm of possibility that a handful of players go on a run to keep it afloat for 60 games. And, what if the season gets dropped to 45 games? What if the owner pops in and sees a competitive team? I’m just saying 0% in a normal year is greater than 0% this year. And, I don’t think we control that 3rd v 4th decision (I actually hope we can’t email Niv and say “don’t pay X but pay Y”).
-
If the unowned team finished top 3 (shame on all of us if that happens), we could just give The 3rd place money to the team who finished 4th. agree it’d be tougher to get another owner to take a team with the optics of all those zeros.
-
Well hopefully we find an owner. My argument against any lineup is that it is theoretically possible that the efforts to save the team put it in the money. Likely? No but in this insanity of a shortened season (that could get shorter)....
-
Sure, I think that'd be great. If he decides he doesn't want to continue after this year, we could search for another owner in the offseason.
-
I mentioned our league situation to a friend and he was checking out the roster. He was signed up for a CBS league but apparently they abruptly cancelled all leagues this year. I don't know if he would sign on for the long-term, but I told him we could at the very least use an owner for that team this year. Let me know if that's not suitable and I'll inform him.
-
I will probably throw a lineup in for him for the beginning of the season and then let it sit. Again, it may be easier to find an owner if he's scoring some points vs. showing up as 0 at the bottom of the standings. Because we're not H2H, I don't know that it creates any competitive disadvantage for the rest of the league?
-
Presuming we don’t find an owner, I assume we will leave the lineup empty for Titans. That would definitely be my vote.
-
Yeah, the new owner would get to play without having to pay until next year - that's part of what makes it slightly more likely we'd be able to get a new owner. Will keep the league posted.
-
Do we know if we even can replace the owner given that the team is paid for thru the 2020 season?
-
no idea, not sure if anyone can give an accurate answer to that, Rebels is looking for a new owner if the prior owner doesn't respond by tomorrow morning

What it is the likelihood that we find someone willing to take over the Titans roster?
-
I accidentally added Puig who was positive for COVID, so figured I would not add him to Titans roster. Titans has 2 roster spaces open.

Sorry - moving it now. This league has always voted for a Sunday night - any strong objections to July 19 at 7pm ET?

Hey so right now the draft is set for tomorrow. Is this still the plan?

It's looking more and more like the season will begin in late July, so it probably makes sense to push back to mid-July for our auction.
-
I agree, I think we have to push it back again.
-
I also vote in favor of delaying the draft.
-
Are we delaying again? I’ll say I’m in favor of a delay as I have ZERO confidence there will be a season.
-
I know we already shared our thoughts but It seems a little silly for us to go into the draft beholden to cuts decisions that were made soooo long ago. It feels like the cuts deadline was centuries ago. So much about this season is going to be flukey so IMO we should be making an effort to give owners as much control over their own destinies as possible. That’s the Notorious two cents 🤷♂️
-
All 7 owners who participated are available on Sunday, June 28 at 7pm ET so I've moved the auction to that time. I'm hesitant to make a call on additional cuts without hearing perspective from others - anybody else want to weigh in?
-
Reminder to please complete the poll by tonight if possible!

At long last, I have created the poll for a new auction time. Please replace your name with your team name and complete it by end of day on Thursday, 4 June.
-
Hi all, I moved the draft back 1 week just to make sure it doesn't happen tomorrow night. I will send out a poll later tonight to help us pick a new date (sorry for the delay). Thanks for your patience - looking forward to figuring this out!
-
I’m open to a new cut period. Also seems fair to allow a re-add if we are going to go that way since players may have been cut because their injury period was too long. Is it even an option to allow more cuts?
-
Curious to hear others' thoughts on an additional cut window if you haven't weighed in yet.
-
I tend to agree that the rhetoric of late doesn't sound great. While I'm skeptical that either side will stick to their guns and call off the whole year, I think it makes sense to push back a few more weeks into mid-late June, since July is likely the earliest start date we'd get.
-
Have to admit my optimism about a season has evaporated in the last 24 hours.
-
Also if possible another round of cuts definitely sounds like a fair move considering all the league-wide and player-specific news that’s come out since our last cuts. Feels like that was years ago lol.
-
Yeah there’s no scenario where the MLB starts it’s season so quickly that we are “scrambling” to draft. Waiting for official word on the season continues to seem like the smarter plan IMO. If we were to draft 5/31 then it should be a slow auction to offset how early we’d be drafting relative to a July/August start to the season.
-
I am fine with a June draft but want to make sure it works for all. I’m pretty flexible outside of 6/6-13. I don’t know about others. I would like to get this scheduled so we know. No one deserves to be forced to miss the draft, abandon their team and so forth because of a last minute decision. Also, while I prefer to have the best knowledge relative to the season start date and player health and so forth...reality is that shit happens and we make cuts way in advance already.
