I’m also not in compliance, but I will be when Lux hits the 60. At this stage in the season it shouldn’t be a big deal right?
-
Seems like it would be the business of the team owner whether or not the team is in compliance. The penalty is you cannot make roster moves or set lineup?

Hey. Im clearly the culprit. Sorry about that. Figured I had until the season started to make the cut decision. Thanks for clarifying and I'll make a cut tonight.
-
Hey all, just a reminder that once the draft occurs, rosters must be in full compliance with the rules (i.e. must be under the roster and salary cap limits). If your roster has been out of compliance for 48 hours, I'll have to swoop in and make fixes unilaterally. Let's keep an eye on this - I'd rather not have to exercise this portion of my commish powers.
-
Then this draft, I have three breaks in my draft. The first one sees 2 players go for what I want to bid for them because a co-worker wants to ask me about work. The second one sees three for the same reason. The third one I get booted from the draft because my turn to nominate had come up. Other people got to not only skip a turn but also bid right after. The commish skipped his own turn later. Aren’t we a rules-based league? This is weird to me.

I don’t understand why drafts can’t be alternated between Asia night, US morning and US night, Asia morning. Because I would love to crack a beer in the comfort of my home too. I mean I get that no one wants to draft in the morning but isn’t that a reason to alternate?

Fairness. I hope I don’t come off as high and mighty here, but the idea of fairness is important to me, especially in a rules based contest like this. So last year, I was struggling to both work at my job and draft at the same time, I complained that the commish put the draft on Asia Monday morning when he never made an option for US Friday morning and I was told to quit the league. This year I took two hours off of work, costing me $150 in income, to try to draft well. I hope it’s worth it.

Hey all. See you in just under 24 hours for the draft.
-
Hey everybody. Just to clarify, we will be sticking with the listed draft time (March 4 at 9pm EST). Looking forward to it!
-
I'll message you, Kasugai.
-
Saturday, March 4 at 9:00 pm EST is the worst possible time for me. I'm in Taiwan and that will be the morning after this wedding I'm attending.
-
I don't believe I marked myself available March 3 or 4. I have a wedding to attend. Can we not find a date closer to Opening Day?
-
march 4th ok

Either date works for me as well.

March 4th works for me!
-
I'm good with either of those dates.

How about March 4 at the same time?
-
Apologies, as I would normally have no problem with a change, but I have another auction scheduled on March 3rd for the same time.
-
Hey all, I've had a schedule change and need to shift our draft time. According to the poll I sent out, everybody is available March 3 at 9pm US Eastern time. If your availability has changed, let me know. If I don't hear from anybody in the next 48-72 hours, I'll go ahead and make the change.
-
Starting one hour later gets us another two people who can be there right from the start (including one on the East Coast). We have people from all over the globe, so there are a number of owners who are already being flexible with their time. My appreciation in advance for the continued grace around the draft time.
-
Why 10 PM? The poll asked about a 9 PM or 11 PM start time and it seems like earlier was the preferred time. 10 PM is awfully late to start for east coast folks.
-
Hey all, looks like the draft time that worked for the most people was March 18. We'll get rolling at 10pm Eastern Time that day, so mark your calendars. Thanks to everybody for their communication and flexibility as we engage in our annual scheduling exercise :).
-
I'll add this to Doodle, but I am going to be at my house in the middle of nowhere Maine March 22-29 so if that week
gets avoided so I can participate that would be amazing.
-
Sounds good. If you could put that info in the doodle link below, I'd appreciate it. Much less likely your response gets lost in the message board shuffle that way.
-
any friday or saturday works for me 8:00 pm start is better i am on the east coast

I'd like to get this scheduled soon, so please provide your availability by the end of this weekend (Sun, Feb 5), and provide your team name in your response to make things easier for me. Here's the link: https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/eEqW0n0e

OK, time to get our draft in the calendar. We're looking at Friday and Saturday nights in March, which tends to be the time that people are free/awake. This is always one of the tougher tasks given the wide range of time zones we all live in, so please try to give me some flexibility by choosing dates/times you could potentially be available instead of only indicating your preferred date.

A reminder about some fine print surrounding the keeper deadline: because of the 24-hour review period for all trades, teams that engage in a trade within 24 hours of the keeper deadline must keep all players they receive in that trade. If anybody has any questions or would like the context for that rule, shoot me a DM. I have a fun Slack transcript I can show you from last year's keeper deadline :)
-
I did say I was an active player!

Vroom, vroom, vroom Bill!

Welcome, Bill!
-
Welcome, Bill. Glad to have you. The stove has been fairly hot this offseason, and it'll be nice to have another potential trade partner.
-
Hey everyone, my name is Bill I just claimed Total Rebuild. This will be my 5th year playing Ottoneu and the league looked interesting. I'm a very active player and I'm hoping to squeeze a couple trades in before deadline day. Send along some DMs if you're interested in any of the players on my roster.
-
One last thing: We'll get the draft scheduled after we add an owner for Total Rebuild. We're aiming for a start time of later in the evening (US time) on a Friday or Saturday in March. This will allow us to draft reasonably close to Opening Day and to accommodate for the variety of time zones among our owners.
-
3) Still looking for an owner for Total Rebuild. If the team isn't claimed until close to or after the keeper deadline, the new owner will be allowed some extra time to make their cuts (a few days at most). Just wanted to give everybody a heads up about that, as the draft pool may shift a bit once we get the new owner. If anyone has any strong feelings about this, shoot me a DM.
-
Hey all, a few things: 1) Final roster decisions are due January 31. Make sure you've made all the cuts you want by then. There won't be any retroactive cuts allowed (except if Total Rebuild doesn't have an owner in advance of the deadline). If any rosters are out of compliance after the deadline, the commissioners have the discretion to make any necessary cuts. DM me if you have any questions. 2) If you haven't already, be sure to renew your team by Jan 31, otherwise you'll be locked out.
-
Hey all, Total Rebuild has become available and is looking for a good owner. I've advertised on the message boards and Slack channel, but feel free to pass the team along to anybody you know who might be interested. Trying to find someone in advance of the keeper deadline at the end of this month.
-
And we're full up. Welcome to the new owner of Flotsam and Jetsam (fka Gonny Jomes). A bit over a month and a half to make trades - hope to see some action now that free agents are landing and there's a bit more certainty.
-
Welcome to the new owner of The Grebes, and good to see some branding work is happening in SoCal. We're looking to fill one more team (Gonny Jomes), so guide any fantasy baseball interested folks this way. I'll keep pushing the team on the message board and Ottoneu Slack channel. Happy holidays and hot stove season to everybody.
-
LOS ANGELES, Ca., December 5, 2022 – Today the Tripp Lake Counselors has revealed its new name and brand identity, the California Jackalopes. This new identity embodies the most powerful aspects of California's story by paying tribute to the team's rich western history and folklore, personified by sun-baked players and out of their mind desert dwellers who believe there once was a Jackrabbit who had the skills and game to seduce a great stag.
-
Hey all, just some offseason housekeeping. As a reminder, trades are now allowed, so update those trade blocks so we can keep up with the real-life hot stove (Nolan Jones in Colorado? Teoscar in Seattle?). Rosters will lock on January 31, so you have a few months to reshape your team before we draft next spring. Also, we're now looking for two new owners, as Seminole Tribe abandoned his team. I'm advertising on the Ottoneu Slack channel and message boards, but let me know if you have a candidate
-
Thanks for the nudge, Kasugai. Yes, please get your arb selections in by midnight EST on Monday. If you do not think you will continue with your team, please complete arbitration and let me know. And on that note, we're still looking for an owner for Gonny Jomes. If you know anybody jonesing for more fantasy baseball, let me know.
-
Last days of arbitration and 4 owners still haven't finished up. Please check in!
-
Hello league mates, I am struggling to keep up with the pace of all my teams and I need to scale back. I have decided to retire from Gonny Jomes :( I completed arb to relieve pressure on finding someone. It's been a pleasure playing with y'all for the past 5 years! This is a great league.
-
Just a reminder that arbitration opens up this weekend and ends on November 14. Start toying around with arb assignments while you're watching some playoff baseball.
-
Another successful season in the books. Thanks to everybody for their engagement this year. And drinks are definitely on Gonny - that's a hell of a haul from OPL.
-
haha thanks Bonilla, I had an amazing run in OPL. Congrats to Dukes for the title; took a few years between no. 1 and 2, but you are back on top! Great season, folks.
-
Once again, I’ll call to attention that Gonny may have finished 5th here, but a takedown of 3/4 top spots in OPL is quite the feat (and pays better too)
-
Good race for the money spots as we wind the season down. Less than 100 points separating 2nd and 4th place. Excited to see how things play out.
