*competition for the league. (Sorry, typos)

Hi all, as we go into June, it looks like Gas House Gorillas is inactive since April 7. While I have messaged directly, mostly out of desire to identify Matt's preference on what he wants to do with the team this season, it seems like we are not going to hear anything. What do others think about having a new owner take on the team during the season? Joining now would allow a rebuild to get a headstart and improve the overall competitij for the leafue, in my opinion.
-
Would love to trade for a high quality OF. Could move Caminero and Basallo if any sellers are interested.

Alright folks I have an absolutely exquisite pitching staff and one of the shallowest lineups man has ever seen -- make me some hitting-for-pitching offers, if anyone wants to kick off trade season nice and early
-
Looks like GHG signed in on Saturday, hoping to hear back from recent message.
-
Any update from GHG?
-
All, just an update that I haven't heard from Matt yet, but I did reach out with a direct email. Thanks for the shared concern.
-
Oh, I hope GHG is ok. Mathis, have you heard anything?
-
Anyone know what is going on with Gas House Gorillas? He checked in on the 13th, but missed the draft and only has 12 players rostered
-
A quick league update, the auction is complete. Roster drops, trades and auctions can now be started as normal during the season. Feel free to reach out if any questions or concerns come up! Play ball!
-
Gotcha, gotcha... processed after the cut deadline. I wasn't processing that lol
-
Trade wait is 24 hours. That trade would have been accepted 1:30 pm, Jan 31
-
Pretty sure it was a trade agreed to before the keeper deadline, but processed on 2/1 after the obligatory processing period.
Trades have always been allowed through the keeper deadline (end of 1/31).

Is that specific to this league? I don't recall that being the case in any other Ottoneu league.
-
You can make trades in the offseason, you just can't start auctions
-
What is that transaction that went down on Feb 1? I thought rosters were locked.
-
Thanks for all the feedback received to schedule the auction draft. We converged on a single time that works best: Sunday, March 17 at 3p. Feel free to contact me and GHG with any questions or concerns in the meantime!
-
I can make any date and time work for me that's good for the group
-
Oh, and also please keep in mind your time zone when viewing the poll. Doodle shows the time zone in use on the response page, and this can be changed to be consistent with your time zone when responding. I believe this poll is set to show Eastern time as the default.
-
Important update: Please fill out the scheduling poll for scheduling the spring Auction Draft:
https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/dB1pE3nb
Responses are requested by 2/16/24, and early responses are appreciated. When filling out the poll, please enter your team name in the "Name" field. This will help follow-up if needed. Thanks! And let me know if any questions.
-
Hi everybody - just a quick note on offseason timelines. Please take a look at your dashboard to confirm you've renewed your team for next season by Jan. 31. This is also the cut/keeper deadline. In February, we will get everyone's availability shared for the draft. An availability request will be sent by Feb. 10, and ask for responses by Feb. 20. My thought is to focus on the weekends of 3/2, 3/9 and 3/16 but also can include a few weeknight evenings. Reg. Season starts in Seoul on 3/20!

Thanks!

@Draft Dodgers - Welcome to the league! It's a good one. The vote off system means each of those players is up for regular auction...however, the team the player was on will get a $5 discount if they win the auction. So, if Player A is "restricted" and the bidding goes to $30 and the initial owner wins the auction the player's salary would be $25. If someone else wins, it is the actual price of the auction
-
Sorry, I meant to say "vote-off", not allocation.
-
Hi all. I picked up Draft Dodgers. I have not played with an allocation system before. Looking at the page, players voted off of teams are listed as Restricted Free Agents? Does this mean that the owner has the option to meet any auction price, or exceed by $1 or something, and retain the player?
-
Initial answer - I took a second look at the roster page, and did a double check. Everything looks OK to me, where Ohtani's salary seems to be counted once. I followed up in your messages also, let me know if we need to look into this more. Thanks!
-
Question - How come Ohtani (86$) is counted twice in salary cap? I have him in two other leagues, he's counted once

All, a couple quick updates as the baseball offseason is starting. I wanted to welcome Big Papi into the league, taking over AlcanTarHeels juggernaut squad. We are still waiting on someone to claim Draft Dodgers. And finally, a quick reminder that the Arb Voting Deadline is four days away, on November 14. Thanks to all the teams that have completed the vote so far.
-
Congrats Bandits!
-
Pity the guy who ends up with my roster vs AlcanTarHeels'.
-
Congratulations to the Bandits. A man that turned down Yordan Alvarez because he didn’t think the Heels could be beaten ends up pulling it out :). Well done. See you all in the off-season
-
In some small part to not winning Jesse Winker for $24 at the auction, congrats to Piggyback Bandits for taking the 2023 season top spot. Will follow-up with GG and everyone on next steps for filling open spots in the league. Please let GG or I know if anyone you know may be interested in joining for this offseason and next year. I think we will miss Alcan Tarheels and respect the need to get your league number right sized. And now onto October baseball!
-
Congrats, Bandits. The Ks were always looming. Really didn’t see my loaded squad losing this league, but the arms just gave up way too many taters.
I’m afraid I also will be checking out here. I’ve played in several too many leagues this season and have to let a few go. Thanks for having me. Some new guy should have a lot of fun with off-season decisions with this roster.
-
Thanks for stepping up to commish this season, Mathis. Wild that the top spot is gonna come down to the two teams that got into an insane $25 bidding war for...Jesse Winker
-
As we are enjoying the last week of the regular season, I wanted to share thanks to everyone for contributing to a competitive season, which is looking like it will go down to the wire to decide 1st place. Also special thanks to Sam for many years in the league.
-
So I just found out that email notifications for this league have all been landing in my spam folder for the past 6 weeks or so. That pretty much sums up my season. I won't be back next year, but I've enjoyed being part of the league. If you're ever in Chicago, feel free to drop me a line - sam.simaan@gmail.com.

Hey thx man, looks like I’m gonna survive and advance to the sweet 16
-
Good luck to AlcanTarHeels - Would be cool to have one of our own win the big prize
-
If anyone is interested in making a deal for any of my players (Freddie Freeman, Julio, Justin Turner, Mookie, anyone else on the roster), hit me up.
-
Found a pretty lukewarm market for Arraez. Guess I’m too used to FG pts scoring and y’all are right he’s less valuable here
-
Im deepest at 2b, so I’ll put my .400-chasing 6.7 ppg $6 25-year-old Arraez on the block and see what I can get
-
I really need to upgrade at C if anyone has one they’re not looking to keep for next season
-
I have a bunch of OF depth and would like to see if I can flip a player or two for another MIF or 1B. If anybody has any ideas feel free to shoot them over!

Hey all - now that the draft is complete, this is a quick note that the auction window has been closed out. This means owners can make cuts, complete trades and start auctions as of now. Looking forward to a fun season!
-
The auction is set for tomorrow (Sunday). I'll be driving so I've set Mathis for Nerds up as co-commissioner. He'll be in charge of starting the auction, pausing it when necessary, and that sort of thing. I'm hoping I'll be able to join the draft at some point, or perhaps I'll have my son sign on with my phone and do the draft for me. So if you see me in there, it might be him. Best of luck to everyone!
-
I'm not trying to be inflexible; I have people coming in from out of town for a NL-only LIVE auction. It's a big to do. I'd draft simultaneous with another ottoneu auction on Monday night, or Tues night would be fine.

If Bridgeport can't do it then I'll leave it as is for Sunday
-
I am unable to auction tomorrow.
-
I’m good either way.
