Agree. One night draft much better. Let's try to limit the last second bids and we might finish in 2 hrs.
-
My advice would be don't split it up. I know we are trying to accommodate AMAP, but two sessions can make that more difficult to do. I'm sure that just because people have multiple nights of availability doesn't necessarily mean they can devote all of them to the draft. In my experience, picking the best universal start time and having everyone in attendance on the ball and ready to go, alleviates most of the draft length issues. But that's just my experiences/opinion. Hope to hear from others.
-
If we think we can get it done in three hours, how about 7/18 9 PM - 10:30 EDT and 7/19 9 PM - 10:30 EDT? [Those are Saturday and Sunday, next weekend.] I'm OK with Friday 7/17 too, but I'd need somebody else to put on a Commissioner hat as I'd be at work (missing that portion of the draft).
-
Not ideal, but people on ON's Slack channel will draft for you.
-
I feel you, Coastal. My Wife is as well. Stay safe.
-
Don't worry about my availability. I'm in health care so my availability is difficult right now. I'll figure something out if I miss the auction.
-
Can we start later (10p EST) on the weekend? I can do at 3am, if needed. We're still on lockdown.
-
Set a time and date and see what the feedback is.

In an effort achieve near universal participation, I'd suggest that anyone who had a lack of availability on those evenings double check their schedules and see if they can find any additional flexibility. If they can, then that's our start time. If not, then the Commish can flip a coin and pick the night since someone misses out in any event. Not perfect, but that's how it goes sometimes.
-
Well, 10/12 of us have voted on When2Meet. Rose 2 Cooperstown and I Found NImmo seem to have abstained so we'd presume they have open availability. So, it looks like there are a couple of small windows the weekend of 17-19 where 9/10 are available and much longer stretches of time when 8/10 of us are available. These are all evening times.
-
Yes, let's set a day/time so we can get this party started.
-
Can we set a day/time for the draft soon? I'm flexible still but trying to schedule a camping trip around it.

Welcome to the league, Sean.
-
Welcome Hayden Sidd Finch. I'm new to the league this year also. I guess we'll both go through a rebuild this season. Good luck to you.
-
Hey everyone. I'm Sean, I just took over the team from the anti-DH owner. Thanks for letting me join.
-
This draft should take no more than 3 hrs.
-
Did it also. Good idea Abandoned Defending Champ. Quick question - I'm new to Ottoneu but isn't this like a half draft, and couldn't we get this done in just one 2-4 hour session? Just wondering.
-
Good idea, I appreciate the initiative. I've done it now too.
-
Did it as well.

Just copy/paste the link in the previous message, sign in with your team name (passwords aren't necessary, and fill in the times you are available. Your time zone should appear on the page. If it's wrong, simply change it. After everyone votes, we can all see where we stand. I've opened up my schedule a bit to try and accommodate the group if needed. Cheers!

Not trying to overstep Commish, but here's a great tool we've used in some of my other Otto leagues to find a window. Keeping in mind that life can get in the way and some people come late or have to leave early, this has been extremely helpful in determining a near-consensus (if not consensus) time. Since this weekend is out, but weekends seem to work best in general, I've selected the following two.
-
I’m ok with shifting to the Free Agent bid process if a draft date can’t be locked down. Everyone still has a shot at acquiring players based on available cap room so works for me.
-
Some pretty narrow availability there. Is it possible to skip the auction and just let teams nominate and bid like we do during the season? That could possibly let everyone participate. Otherwise, you'll just need to pick a time and some may need to miss it/find surrogates.
-
Maybe Saturday 11 July at night and Sunday 12 July late morning or early afternoon could work out for everyone. Besides Fridays and Saturdays, I could also be available late mornings, early afternoons on Sundays. Just wanted to let the commissioner know this. Hopefully this will help with scheduling the draft.
-
So to summarize: the holiday weekend is out. One manager can draft only on Friday or Saturday. One manager can draft only on Sunday. Your humble commissioner is working a second shift schedule and cannot draft on weeknights until after 1 AM EDT. Right now I'm considering Saturday 11 July and Sunday 12 July, evening starts (start time TBD, but probably between 8-10 PM EDT). I may need a second commissioner if we need another window that I cannot attend.
-
Pacific here. Getting a small business up and running again post-shutdown so time is super limited for me at the moment. Sundays are my draft day availability right now, but not the weekend of the 4th.
-
Eastern time zone, however, I do have flexibility

Eastern time - could do 9pm or so in the evenings on the weekdays to accommodate the the other time zones
-
Central, but the holiday weekend would be impossible for me.
-
I'm in Central time zone. Very flexible with time.

Available 24/7, especially now.
-
I'm flexible. On the West coast.
-
Central Time Zone for me.
-
I have a similar issue with work schedules; next Friday is better than most because I'm off work for the holiday. Usually that would make it a bad time to draft... this is an unusual year. What time zone is everyone in?
-
Try Not To Suck changed its name to Lovable Losers Revenge. Lovable Losers Revenge is available to draft next Friday or Saturday. I need Fridays or Saturdays due to my work schedule.
-
Yes, it's Sun Valley. Send 'em my way and I'll transfer the team.
-
I think I found someone to take that team. It's Sun Valley, right?
-
How about next week...or next weekend??
-
We need to pick a date. And I think we have an opening again (send anybody you can find my way). I'll ask the community again, but with only one seat to fill, if we all work on it, I think we can get there pretty quickly.
-
What's the date?

Aren't all these rule revisions, (league realignment, the DH in the NL, added roster spots, social distancing, etc..) only for this shortened, screwed up season? Don't we go back to normal next year? If so, it's not worth giving up on baseball or fantasy baseball because of it. Grow a pair and adapt to the change for one half a season.
-
With the season postponed, have you just been sitting around watching double switch and sac bunt highlights?
-
Wow, ADC, witty repartee!
-
Please Coastal Empire get a new shtick, the watching pitchers hit argument is worn out. Please do better.
-
@Nat/SQiR, yes we are fighting a pandemic, and you like me are commenting on this site!
-
At least it should be easier to find a replacement since the team is paid for...
-
Yes, because watching pitchers strikeout is what really makes baseball great.
