Please have him get a fangraphs account and send me his info and I'll add him to the league. Just to clarify the guy we are kicking out is my brother. He just doesn't give a shit so I want someone who cares.

If anyone has a friend that wants to adopt a team, please let me know. I would like to replace "Joc Rash" due to inactiveness. Lastly, it will not cost to join because roster has already been paid for. Thanks guys!

I just wanted to clarify. This is not a two catcher league. It just has two slots due to the amount catchers sit because their off day.

What's our consensus?
-
@strikeforce Unforunately, it sounds like you're in the minority. As for the $10 cap... Seems a little steep. Also, 2/3 of the players up for bid are people I put out there. The league wants me to cancel those from my understanding?
-
How about this, everyone puts their cuts on their trade block by tomorrow night. Give everyone through the weekend to work out potential deals. If a trade works out, great. If not, the free cuts are made next Monday so long as managers are acting within reason (whatever that means). Or maybe I'm reading too much into it and nobody cares.

I vote for a flat $10 cap. allowing people to get rid of unnecessary dead roster, not manipulate the league. In the long run I believe this will get things running smoothly without, taking away the cap advantage of any of you guys who did your due diligence and have an advantage with cap space.
-
this increases the probability of someone being upset about a cut.

idk @oakland, economies are a fragile ecosystem and I don't like some unintended side-effects. For instance, I like my $1 players so I don't intend to drop anyone. Say you decide Devon Travis $1 is a band-aid boy and you take the free drop. However, had I known you would drop Travis, I would gladly replace Escobar with Travis. In fact, had Travis been available in the draft, I could have taken him then. Replace the players and the teams involved and hopefully you can see...

As long as the standard dropping rules apply. The issue I have is with the $1 players. They represent the real issue here, because of the rounding rules here they offer no cap relief when they are dropped. People choosing to fill their roster with $1 not understanding these rules would essentially have dead roster spots. Without cap space these dead spots restrict trade and choke a team. I don't see an issue setting a dollar amount but we should not restrict the number of players.
-
btw...how do you put a player up for auction?
-
Agree to the auction rules. As much as grabbing Vealsquez would be great, I think that's a VERY fair deal.
-
Good job Betances. You handled that with a deft hand. Would you like to take over as commissioner of a certain Yahoo league?

I'm okay with whatever, totally understand both perspectives. I would make one request, any teams taking a free drop should not be allowed to join the current auctions.

I agree to the $5 rule Betances threw out there and the follow-up month rule coming from Oakland.
-
As you previously said this was a league for rookies. No one is talking about dropping bad contracts for selfish purposes except for you people. Were talking about freeing up cap space so to open up room for trade. No one is taking away your advantage of cap room. But without the wiggle room no one can trade, this league will stagnate ,and people wont have fun and will quit. I don't think anyone purposefully made bad draft choices with this foresight just to screw you guys over.
-
I am placated. This is an acceptable compromise.

I'm so proud of you boys for doing your reading. That's so great, but its year 1 of a dynasty league and some people didn't understand the rules like you did no matter how clearly defined they were. Let's get every one on the same page and start this thing off right. It's a game and it supposed to be fun. The same cutting rules should apply as with a normal drop (1 month lock for the dropping team for that player and the opening bid must be at least half of their draft price if their picked up).
-
To make it fair at this point. You can not cut more than three players and/or a maximum of $5. I will also adopt the one month rule to keep all parties happy. Would you guys agree that this is a fair compromise?
