Awesome! What was your offer for Paxton? Let's be transparent here. We are not talking about those players starting on YOUR team, are we? We are talking about them starting on someone else's team, who saw a need filled by those players PLUS value and used one of the chips he had to gain value and meet those needs.

really man, you got him for free, his salary is paid and you gave up bench players for him. NOT ONE of those guys would start on most of our teams, for sure on yours. You can't even defend these trades. Your pathetic reasoning to try to defend them is ridiculous. Call a spade a spade, you are a shark, in a kiddie pool.
-
With all of that being said, since apparently Paxton's market is sky high right now...I am open to hearing any and all offers for him. And yes, I do value cash (if you can tell by the trades I made), so feel free to include that in any offers.

Did anyone else bother to offer him anything for Paxton or even inquire what he might be looking for in return? Because that is all I did, and again, two consenting owners were able to a have a meeting of the minds and make a win-win for both sides.

I appreciate the passion, but I am curious if I will need to defend each of my trades this year? I know Paxton is a "sexy" name bc he is now on the Yankees, but do you consider his actual stats, injury history, etc. when evaluating this trade? Do you consider he is significantly over priced at the price he is at? Do you consider the players I traded are ALL under priced? Did you consider that the Seller in this case is trying to build a team and quantity AND quality at the same time?

oh, and a free Paxton eaten by the shark too
-
you got a lot of cap left, but now the shark in the pool has another free $25 to work with

I probably didn’t evaluate that adequately, so I understand the shock. I will take that into account moving forward. Thanks for letting me join y’alls league.

I realize many are not in favor of the deal I just made. I’ll admit that the salary aspect of this league is new to me, but I joined Ottoneu because I want to learn it. I like the idea of how this game is set up. I am trying to rebuild this team, and the 4 players I traded for are ones that I want. I was doing my best to evaluate how the cash affected the deal, and I probably didn’t do that adequately, but I didn’t feel that it hurt me too bad as I have a lot of cap left.

No buyer’s remorse on the trade for Tanaka here. Relative value for my team, from my perspective, still checks out. If anyone sees value in my other SP eligible players that I happen to be missing, shoot me an offer. Note however, at best, only 6 currently have a rotation spot in hand.

BTW, there was negotiation on how much cash should come my way. We met in the middle. That is how a good market/economy should work.

That's fine to voice your opinion, and I like all sorts of discussions, but this is far from being even close to a "veto". Also, the league champ of 2018. 2019 hasn't even started. And I stand by what I said based exactly on your info: "Because Odor is overpriced at $15. He is unreliable. Tanaka is the opposite: Reliable and probably priced pretty well." The stats back it up, so for some cash to come my way in this deal makes perfect sense.

I didn't even veto the trade, and i am not upset, just throwing out an opinion. BTW Orange now has 15 SP, so you can't argue he needed another one
-
Average 5x5 prices across all leagues Tanaka 17 Odor 13. In my personal draft spreadsheet, Tanaka is 13 and Odor is 20. Just for the sake of argument, lets call them equal. Still no reason to give you, the league champ an extra 10.
-
Because Odor is overpriced at $15. He is unreliable. Tanaka is the opposite: Reliable and probably priced pretty well. So if he wanted Tanaka (and not give up something better than Odor, and thereby keeping his roster more competitive) he would have to add in cash. Like you said, it is about economics...

Have to comment on the cash with trades. I have no issue with the players involved in this particular deal, but why give the league champion extra budget to play with for the year? Ottoneu is as much about economics as players.

Hi, Crazy Rich Ballers missed the auction and he is only paid up until Feb 28th. If you know of someone who is willing to come in and take on a team that they will need to fill without having the benefit of drafting, please let them know that they would be most welcomed in our league and we would be happy to have them!

Musial - I sent you a couple of PMs with some information. You can get them by clicking on the icon next to TRADE at the top of the page (should be highlighted with a number indicating number of messages) and then click on my team name.

One last thing: There are no trades until AFTER the auction draft (this of course applies to the whole league and all Ottoneu leagues.)

It will also notify you after trades and waiver wire additions if your roster is valid or not. If your roster is not valid, the system will not allow you to make trades, participate in auctions, or collect any stats.
-
Also, the system will notify you if your roster will be valid or invalid when you are trying to make cuts. FYI.

Any players you end up NOT cutting are your "keepers". You need to have your roster in compliance after this initial round of cuts. That means 40 or less players rostered and you need to be under $400 budget. If you keep LESS than 40 players you need to keep at least $1 available for every remaining slot. (So you can't keep 36 players but still have a payroll of $400, for example. You COULD keep 36 players with a payroll of $396...)
