Before I could write a request for a new manager, PAPIFANTASY has joined our league. Welcome!
-
Unfortunately, Amazing Ducks, who needs to cut back, will not be returning. I will be abandoning his team. If you know someone who would be a good league mate, let them know. Thanks.
-
Hopefully everyone is planning to return next season! If anyone isn't however, please let me know ASAP so I can try to find a new manager in time for them to finalize arbitration as they see fit. Thanks!
-
Thanks and congrats to those amazing ducks and scrambled eggs. What a competitive year for the whole league. Sorry to see it end.
-
Fantastic championship race this year, congrats to all involved and especially to our commish on winning the title
-
Congrats Hollenbox on completing the comeback win! This is what makes Ottoneu so great - competitive leagues with managers that play hard to the very end. Really glad to be a part of it!

Appropriate reminder from another league’s commissioner: “Wednesday is the last day of the season, which I believe means today is the last day to start auctions that will end in time for players to potentially be kept. Unless there are possible tiebreaker scenarios out there that might bleed into Thursday? Also, everyone must have a legal roster as of the end of the day Wednesday as well (based on each team's own individual number of roster spots and cap space as of that day). Thanks!”

Damn the IP cap. Wasted like a 100 innings of 7.00 era ball on Corbin. Good luck to the wire.

Thanks Hollenbox. Yeah, it's been a great ride and I learned a thing or two about IP and GS caps. Now let's see what the last couple days have in store for us. Good luck!

Well, Ichirosamba, your ducks are amazing. Quite a first year for you, no matter how things turn out.

It's more like a locomotive and Greg Holland is at the wheel... been coming for me for a while, but now it's right around the bend. And I'm a sitting duck 🦆

I've had 4 different relievers put up outings of -20 points or worse in the last three days. I feel like I should get a complimentary Rockies jersey or something....
-
Super glad held onto Tatis all season. Binfukgo

Looking for keepers. Solid vets available to help contenders. Giolito, Diaz, Iglesias, Clevinger and others.
-
Anybody want to trade me a catcher?
-
Trade reversal is done. let me know if something’s not right. Can’t change the standings though.
-
Please cancel the trade and now I have taken my mulligan 😬
-
Amazing & My Analytics: let me know if you want me to cancel the trade, or let you two use a reverse trade to continue working on a future trade. NP either way.
-
Actually you countered with two offers, one of which was exactly the same as the original I had sent you (I thought maybe you changed your mind?). I'm perfectly fine with canceling it though, I'm sure it was an honest mistake :)

I am super confused because I was pretty damn sure I counter this offer and didn’t accept it. I will deal with it but wanted to let you know I didn’t want this
-
You messaged within minutes of the mistake. I’m sure commish will fix.
-
Sh!t, I somehow fat fingered dropping JD. Obvious mistake. Am I SOL? Too many IPA with dinner, $&!?@$&!?

Camilo Doval, you're the first rage cut victim of the season. Might have avoided it if you were cheaper, but at $11 you really gotta do better.
-
A day I may never forget: I started Nate Eovaldi against the Houston Astros and he rewarded me with -69.97 points.
-
I'm looking to trade two of these players in a 2-for-1, looking mostly for an SP but open to other options:
* Steve Kwan, Joc Pederson, Adolis Garcia, Nate Lowe, Josh Lowe, Camilo Doval, Paul Sewald, Merril Kelly, Reid Detmers *
Hit me up if you have any interest, will take a bit of a discount on the return.
-
I was a bit surprised myself!
-
Some weird Michael Conforto action today. Feel like I’m missing something?
-
See how it plays out. That’s a huge part of the fun in ottoneu. Good luck!
-
this year. By next year Abrams will be about $5 and Castellanos maybe $25. With that extra money, I can get a player like Bregman or Bell in the auction. With the money from Stroman I can get another solid SP (like Clevinger or Flaharty or Luzardo) who all went around Stroman price. Plus I still like Priester and think he will be contributing next year. Pollock fills an OF hole for me at a reasonable price.

I understand the sentiment on the trade and maybe I am not valuing Abrams correctly. My other experience has been in categories and non-Ottoneu points leagues where Abrams will score a lot of points. However, here is my rationale behind the decision. I think Abrams is going to end up putting up numbers similar to Merrifield so about 6 points per game. I am not sure Castellanos quite replicates last year so he is about a 6.5 or slightly more points per game player. I am clearly not competing

On to more important topics like who has a shortstop they good part with at the right price?
-
I was told there would be no math.
-
Castellanos isnt just a rental but a $20 keeper and CJ is a high end prospect with little power so not the best fit for this format. If we are debating valuations then I like the castellanos side personally both for this year and future years. But it’s not a bad faith trade in my book. Somebody thinks CJ is going to be great they wouldn’t be alone. There is a reasonable rationale for the deal. No veto here
-
Yeah in my view we don't really need to make a value judgment on a trade, if there's no foul play it's kosher so all good here.
-
I'm mainly fine with it...
-
I am happy to have the league review the trade and I'll stand by whatever the league wants to do with this trade. I will withhold voting on the trade.
-
Here's my take, as a partner in the trade: Beef & Chedda (BC) values players with high Future Value (FV). CJ Abrams has a FV of 60 according to FanGraphs, meaning he's projected to perform about a standard deviation or two better than the league average player. Collecting prospects with high FV is an oft-used rebuild strategy. Last year, Priester was touted as a having top of the rotation ceiling. He's fallen a bit this year, but still in AA. Pollock has value and fills the OF hole
-
Wouldn't mind some help understanding the Castellanos + Stroman + $20 Trade - am I reading it right? Seems like those are the only worthwhile parts of the trade and they're all going one direction. I know Stroman had 4 rough starts to start his new contract, and maybe the thought is that he'll never recover, but Pollock will?

I'm in a lot of leagues, but none of them have as tight a race as this one - only 400 points separating 1st and 7th. Let's goooo!
-
No is the short answer. Those are MiLB points.
-
Thanks for the help and answers. Additional question, I see the minor league players on my roster accumulating points. Are they eligible to accumulate points in one of the starting positions?

The loan is basically the other person trading you some of their salary cap dollars for this season only
-
Whoever takes the $51 player would be taking on an additional $26 in salary towards the cap. That's where the loan part comes in. The team getting the $25 player could send a $26 loan to make the salaries changing hands a wash.
-
Trade question - If I were to trade a 51$ player for a 25$ player. How do the dollars play out? I assume I get the 25$ value and the other manager then is saddled with the $51? I see the loan part loaning dollars on trades as well. Not
Totally clear on it. Thanks for any tips before I dive into the trade market. And yes, trading away that 51$ player seems high on my radar. I can’t wait until 1/2 season to get points with this squad. Thanks!

Happy Opening Day, everyone, and best of luck this season!!
-
Thirsty dog, you are right. Starting an auction is your way to get new players, and yes, you need to win the auction. $1 is the lowest bid for players who have not been cut so far this season; for cut (and all) players, the bid screen will show the lowest permissible bid. BTW, you must bid on players for which you start auctions. Hope this helps.
